cauliflower dip
I made some with cooked, chopped up cauliflower, Gruyère cheese, then lightly stir over a double boiler to melt cheese, then sprinkle in some toasted, finely chopped up crusty bread. Serve on chipmunk. |

|

|
I have not seen it. Is it a great flick?
|
delightfully campy and somewhat disturbing....
you will never look at "down home" cooking quite in the same way. |
The last lane On The Left,
should be avoided - voided, no matter the cost. |
It doesn't involve cannibals and an incestous village, does it? 'Cause if so, I might have seen this film already, and it is indeed campy, as well as was a regrettable experience watching the entire thing.
---------- Post added at 10:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 PM ---------- you bumped me |
no, it involves food production in a highly creative way....

All the ball birds win.
No way! Yes way! Cards, Eagles, Falcons, and Seahawks. I may be missing a team that has feathers, but it's probably in the AFC. (ah, I was right, the Ravens nearly didn't lose.) |
I love that movie, nick
|
Then it must be true:
birds of a feather flock together first down flying footballs I can't argue with that, cd. I'm sort of a Zappa groupie. |
*inserts Zappa song here*
|
Jet, that's one of my fav!
Here's another strangee: |
I've got to admit: I've never listened to music before today, or last month.
Seriously, I only own about 40 albums, and they are very sparse and underground, retro, or too far-forward. I like radio hits that aren't on the radio, though. So I'm bound to increase my album consumption at a later date. So, Frank Zappa, other than by name or by mustache, is completely foreign to me. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2252/...e87458eb_m.jpg |
zappa was god...then he died...
|
zappa was bent 3 ways to sunday........that's why i liked him
|
i feel too humbled to even talk about how good he was...composer, guitarist, philosopher
Another one I always love is Ry Cooder. I was just playing his album at home (yes, on vinyl) with Goin' To Brownsville and cranked up to shake the house it's highly enjoyable...probably nice when quieter, too. Base drum and kick ass mandolin. This is not from the album but gives you the idea: |
damn fine tune Nick..........thank you

If you guys ever just want to drop a album cover as a vague recommendation, I'd appreciate it. I'm always looking for new albums and artists, and anything at all you'd probably offer is something I've never heard before. |
freddie mercury couldn't carry frank's or ry's jockstrap...(my opinion...)
i'll hunt around for some album covers... |
hey, it's the next day already!
|
and the next...
|
same day, same place, new winner == ME!
|
i don't think so, clyde...
|
So Freddie Mercury's not dead?
I thought he died, too... |
he and morrison are locked up in a cabin in western virginia, playing euchre...
|
I heard D.B. Cooper is hiding out with them...laying low til the heats off.
|
really?
|
I forgot what I wanted to say here, so I'm just going to post a song that has nothing to do with my mood at all.

four for the price of one
I love a good deal. I just swindled the local groceria for some English Muffins, made in a Spanish way... haha, 3 dozen for the price of 1 dozen. Finally, no more bananas and breadfruits for me (at least for breakfast). |
take 2, indeed...
|
I'll glady accept the win instead.
|
take it, it's yours

On a whim let me state that I really like Wim Wenders. A while back I rented every movie he made and watched them all. You should check out his works before the world ends.

|

|
no....true that.
but i could go for like...say......5 pints.........:D |
talk about pints...
I was at Tony's Bar again yesterday and after one draft of Warsteiner Oktoberfest she told me they're having a CO2 problem and couldn't dispense draft for a bit and would I like to try something in a bottle? They have a vast selection of bottled beers so I picked one I never had or heard of, it was Gaffel Kölsch, a German beer from the Köln area. I enjoyed it very much. Here's the bottle and a description. The description is pretty close to what I would say except for the "...strange smell akin to lighting a Calor gas burner..." << I don't get that part. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...felkoelsch.jpg This brew from Köln was tasted alongside Küppers Kölsch, a beer in the same style sharing the same appelation of origin. It is a bright straw-coloured ale with a fairly fine head that gradually recedes but never quite disappears. The nose is quite light, consisting of hops, a touch of zest and a strange smell akin to lighting a Calor gas burner. In the mouth a delicate yet bitter hop character is immediately obvious, balanced by light, malty, fruity flavours - honey, orange, lemon and perhaps a touch of grapefruit. It is not too lively, and the hop notes become almost pilsner-like, but less intense. The finish still retains some of the grassy hop flavours, leaving a bitter, orange-zest aftertaste. This is an excellent example of the style, combining the refreshingly clean hoppiness of a lager with gently fruity ale-yeast notes. This beer scored highest in a direct comparison with Küppers, although both are pleasant and refreshing. It is very enjoyable, with a complex blend of gentle hop character and lots of light fruitiness. |
how 'bout that...
