well, i AM going to answer the question, just because I can.
Vincent is better known around the world as none other than Alice Cooper. here's another real name question: what volatile hard rock front man was named William Bailey by his parents?

That would be John Paul Jones
AKA - JPJ AKA - The GOD of bass playing. New question, new direction. Lets see who knows their country music, just to be different. What multi-platinum country artist started his career with The Pure Prarie League?

Sorry GOT, I have to answer this one because I met him when I was a Bellman at a local hotel when the League came for a concert. I carried in all the bands luggage and they paid me $20 and gave me two tickets to their show. I'm sure you are looking for Vince Gill. I will wait for your confirmation!

I'm going to throw out a relatively easy one. My mind is kinda fried from the long work week last week and the crazy weekend I had. Here goes:
What is the name of the frontman for Audioslave who used to be in Soundgarden.

According to Music Trivia rules notaneel has until 8:09 am wednesday Jan 28 to ask the next question. We're appx. a half hour from that. If he doesn't ask one, I throw it out to the first person who would like to ask one.

Well, I'm going to go for it because I thought of a good one. One that hopefully will even keep perripken busy thinking for awhile.
For Boston's 1986 release "Third Stage", guitarist Gary Pihl came aboard at the very end to help with a couple songs. He also joined them on tour. What made Gary "suddenly available" as Tom Scholz put it in the liner notes?

I'm guessing the hint refers to Sammy Hagar's "I cant drive 55." If that's correct, then the reason Gary was free to play with Boston would be Sammy's joining Van Halen. The timing (1986) is right, am I?

That is correct.
Gary had met Scholz previously when the two bands had toured together and they remained friends. Sammy split and left the rest of the band high and dry so Gary called up Tom and asked to join. He's been with them ever since. You're up Sion.

What is the only Yes album that does not feature Jon Anderson on vocals?

Man... without looking, I can't remember the name of the album, but I do know it was the one before 90125, because that is the album when Jon rejoined.

That's the same thing I was thinking.
***Must resist urge to cheat!!!!*** Yeah, that didn't last long. I cheated and I don't remember that album. Must be because Jon wasn't on it.

and the answer is.....
(drumroll) Drama, released in 1980. perhaps the most overlooked album of their entire discography, but a worthy and excellent album it is, though Trevor Horns vocals take a bit of getting used to. I give perripken half credit for this answer: "I can't remember the name of the album, but I do know it was the one before 90125, because that is the album when Jon rejoined." which is correct, though it lacks the actual title of the album. your question perripken

Well....back from the game and no takers, so here goes:
Since I was in Buffalo, I'll use a Buffalo connection. What was the name of the great bass player from Buffalo who played for David Lee Roth's solo venture?

That was Billy Sheehan, he also played for Mr. Big and at one time dated porn actress Savannah.
OK they say to stick with what you know, which for me is KISS. Drummer Peter Criss was not on the 1980 flop "Unmasked". Which session drummer filled in anonymously for Criss? Hint, it was not Eric Carr, who officially joined the band for the next studio flop, "Music From The Elder"

He actually first played with Ace on his solo album. KISS didn't admit it at the time because they still thought they could lure Peter back. Once they figured out Peter was gone, they held open auditions, because Anton was already working for Letterman. Damn good drummer too by the way.

Actually I think we've had this one already in here. I know it's hard to remember all what's been asked with 16 pages of trivia.
edit: Yes it was. It seems familiar, because it turns out I was the one who asked it on the first page, just in the reverse.
