The Moving Sidewalks.

I think I already asked the Gibbons related question concerning Hendrix. But interesting relation. Hendrix gave Gibbons a guitar during this time, the Sidewalks were opening for Hendrix. Amazing that he considered Gibbons his favorite guitarist.

Going to think for a minute on the next question.

Everyone seems to be sticking to the more obscure and usually older stuff. I think I will keep on with something a bit easier and see who we can draw in.

Who is the only artist to have two consecutive number one hit singles posthumously?

Both guesses I made myself, but so far not it. I'll go ahead and hint this much. The artist was not around that far back. Think Post 80's into the 90's.

I don't think it's Aaliyah, and probably not Biggie Smalls either. I know I'm gonna kick myself when you give us the answer too!! My first thought was actually Stevie Ray Vaughn but he never had two #1's like that, but I think he got far more popular after he died...

Okay.. Before releasing thier self titled debut in 1974, Rush released a single. The A-Side was a cover of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away". What was the B-Side?

This should be easy for all you Beatles fans, (in honor of George Harrison being nominated for the Rock n Roll hall of fame)
Who was the Beatles original bass player who died of a brain hemorrage?

Bonus points if they can also name his girlfriend.

Stu Sutcliffe. as for the gf, I'll kick myself when someone else mentions the name, because I know it, but just cant get my mind to retrieve the info at this time.

ok, here is another guitar riff question. name the famous session guitarist who played on the first Steely Dan album and was responsible for the great riff that leads off (and runs through) the song Reelin' in the Years. Here is a hint: he is married to one of country music's biggest stars, her initials are ST.

note: no point will be awarded if the man's name is given without his famous nickname.

Astrid Kirchnerr. She was the one responsible for their famous "mop top" haircuts.

Okay, new question time.

Who was playing bass guitar on Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know"?

doh! I knew that, but I doubt anything short of electroshock therapy would have dragged it out of the recesses of my brain.

meanwhile, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is married to Shania Twain. go figure

Well, the album has two versions of "You Oughta Know", but I assume you mean the version with Flea (of Red Hot Chili Peppers) on bass.

Buster Poindexter, who has forced us to hear the song "Hot Hot Hot" at every wedding reception that we go to, previously was in a very different group and had a different name. They were...?

Yes, that is the version I'm talking about.

I know the answer to this one too since it is one of the groups KISS was influenced by, but I don't want to hog the thread.

jimk, if he didn't go by David Johansen, it doesn't matter, because yours was the answer I had in mind.

Next? (Personally, I find it harder to come up with questions than to answer them. I hadn't posted in this thread previously because I couldn't come up with anything.)
