Ok, Linda Ronstadt was a member of what group before she pursued a solo career (which by the way, started out country)?

OK, next question (provided by a friend at work here, just to give proper credit) What two southern bluesmen was Pink Floyd named after?

Floyd Anderson and Pink Council?
In case I am right ................. what city was the first to play Maggie May by Rod Stewart AND Paradise By the Dashboard Light on its radio stations? Rod Stewart AND MeaLoaf both credit this as being thier big breaks because thier careers took off after that exposure.

taking a wild, shot-in-the-dark guess at pan6467's question: Cleveland?

D'oh..... thought it would be much harder than that......
yes, in fact Maggie May was played as a joke. The DJ laughed and asked if this voice would ever make it. Within hours it became the most requested song in Cleveland. For MeatLoaf we owe it to WMMS the great Cleveland station. They were the first to play Paradise, and again it became the most requested song. Cleveland knows its ROCK AND ROLL.

Since it has been declared open again, another KISS question... I wouldn't do that to everyone here, you'd hunt me down and kill me. Let's go Beatles this time...kinda. John Lennon appeared on Elton John's version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" under what alter-ego?

No takers yet????
Allright, the pseudonym had something to do with his middle name. His original middle name, not the one he changed it to later. There, that ought to throw some confusion into it

I am sooooooooo dissapointed that no one has ever heard of "Dr. Winston O' Boogie".
Let's make this easy on everyone!! Who was the uncredited guitarist doing the solo on Michael Jackson's "Beat It"?

We have a winner, and welcome ladyadmin to the music trivia thread. As always, it's great to see new blood in here!
Side note** God of Thunder probably knows this, but Steve Lukather played bass and rythym guitars and the late Jeff Porcaro played drums. Both were from the band Toto. Your question, ladyadmin!

Yes I did. Steve actually played on a lot of albums in the 80's. I think he is pretty much just a studio musician now. Plays on a lot of country albums.
We await your question ladyadmin.

I read a recent interview with Eddie who said that he did the solo in two takes. The first one was the way Quincy wanted it, the second was the way Eddie wanted it. They used Eddie's. Quote:

like perripken, I too knew one right off the top of my head: Anton Fig (currently the skinsman on the David Letterman show). hell, anyone who reads this thread regularly should know that, it was mentioned just a couple pages back.
now, I wonder, is it considered cheating if I dug out my original copy (first run print) of this album and looked for the other? after all, its not like I had to google the answer. I'll hold off with the other name until a decision is made. meanwhile, if anyone does know without looking, then feel free to answer, and ask a new question.

Damn, Damn, Damn!!!!!!!!
I don't check the thread for a day because I'm actually busy at work, and look what happens. I don't consider what you did cheating Sion. The fact that you have the album to look up gets you extra points. Post the answer and then amaze us with you follow up question. But keep in mind everyone, I'll be watching close from now on. Damn KISS question when I'm not looking....grumble grumble grumble

I agree, finding the album is not cheating, using a search engine is. Nice job Sion!

ok, since I have three opinions allowing, the other drummer is Carl Tallarico, who played on the song Fractured Mirror.
next question: by what name is Saul Hudson better known?

That would be Slash...(He says confidently without Googling)
still grumbling about a missed KISS oppurtunity. Trust me, no one was more suprised than me that I actually had work to do Since the RnR Hall of fame induction is nearly upon us. Name the only artist inducted 3 times and name each occurance. Should be easier than you think. grumble...grumble

When you say name each occurance, do you want the years?
I can name the artist and the 3 times, but not the exact years, without googling.

I'm going to go ahead and answer, because I don't think GOT could possibly expect us to know the induction dates.
Eric Clapton: Solo Cream Yardbirds I'll wait for confirmation from the thunderous one

No I was not expecting the induction dates. Sorry about the confusion.
You got what I meant, I didn't want to say name each band, because as you pointed out, one was solo. Each time I ask that question amongst friends, they usually say Paul McCartney. Sir Paul has only been inducted twice though. As a Beatle and as a solo artist. Wings are still waiting. Thought I would trip someone up on that, but perripken has proven himself worthy. Ask away dude.

OK,
Pat Benetar's hubby and lead guitarist Neil Geraldo played keyboards for what guitarist before Pat scooped him up?
