ok, new question:

The seminal rock album "Who's Next" (by the Who, naturally) was birthed out of the remains of a much bigger, multimedia concept from Pete Townsend. What was the name he gave to that concept?

This was one of my favorite album cover's. Might have to save what's on it for a future trivia question!

I'm thinking that Pan6467 should have the next question since he is half correct. The other performer was Janice Ian.

Sorry ...........

OK here we go.........

The greatest group in the world (IMO) The KINKS had a producer that helped form their sound, later he left to work with the High Numbers changing their name.

Who was the producer and what was the new name of the group?

just a suggestion, but perhaps these two (and three) part questions should be pared down to single answer type questions. it would probably keep things moving along better.

hmmm...the High Numbers? I know I've heard that name before, but cant for the life of me place it with the band they became...

I've made this suggestion before. You also get two different people answering the question. Sion, you asked a question about this band at the top of the page. This should pare it down to one question. Now all we have to do is come up with the producer.

ok that would make the band The Who, and if my memory serves me correctly, the producer would be Glyn Johns.

ok, Glyn Johns is not the correct answer. (having not gotten verification from pan, I did an AMG search).

so, it looks like we have a stumper. we need a new question pan.

Figured I'd go ahead and post one instead of waiting.

Question: Out of the 5 members of The Band, 4 of them (Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson) were born in Ontario, Canada. Levon Helm was the only one who wasn't. What state was he born and raised in and got his start with Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks in?

I have no idea, I do know that he was the drummer/lead singer.
The Last Waltz is a pretty cool video if you've never seen it.

He actually traded off lead vocals from song to song with Richard Manuel and Rick Danko. I think The Last Waltz was a great concert and have always enjoyed watching it, but I'd always been struck by how much the cameras focused most of their attention on Robbie Robertson, even though he didn't sing lead on anything, and stayed on him when other instruments/members should've been the focus for certain parts of certain songs. Apparently Levon's recent book about The Band talked about how much he hated The Last Waltz and how Scorsese made Robertson the focal point of the whole thing since he pretty much worshipped him. Apparently, Robertson's microphone wasn't even turned on the whole time, to avoid having his backing vocals mess up the sound.

New question is up in the air for anyone to ask.

Should be an easy one.

Current Van Halen vocalist (yes he's back!!) Sammy Hagar was lead singer for what other band before going solo?

yes, that is an easy one GoT. that band was called Montrose, after guitar player Ronnie Montrose. damned good band too.

ok, next question: in the credits of the film version of The Wall, there is a listing of additional musicians (other than Floyd members) who contributed to the making of the music. one of these people formed half of a pop duo that had some hits in the 70s, to include "Do that to me one more time" and "Love will keep us together". name her.

ps. can you tell I watched that film over the weekend?

Cool, now I can ask that Who's next question!
What is the humorous thing about the Who's next album cover?
At least humorous to me!

To stick with the subject

What was originally proposed to be the cover of "Who's Next"?

That one was even funnier, but the censors didn't have a sense of humor then.

Can't believe no one has jumped on this one.

He is the lover of "Fat Bottomed Girls" and a "Prince of the Universe". He believes in a "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and that "Too Much Love Will Kill You".

He is ----- Freddie Mercury

May he rest in peace.

Who produced and played on Eric Clapton's 1985 album "Behind the Sun"?

I'm gonna guess George Harrison. Seems to me I remember that Eric was doing George's wife, wasn't that Layla? And I remember them still being friends and working together, and that struck me kinda funny! I'm not going to put up a new question 'cause I'm not sure on this one.

Well.. I couldn't wait, and it's a good thing I didn't put a new question up, cause I think I'm wrong. George isn't mentioned on that album, but there is an artist mentioned that GOT must be referring to.
