Ok it's time to bump this and get it moving again, great threads should never die.

How did Alice Cooper get the name Alice Cooper? Extra points if you know the irony of it.

Let me bite on this one

Alice Cooper was the name of a 17th century witch.

Aaaand the irony.

Vincent Furnier is now a Christian.

Is that irony?
am I correct?

(I'll be back with a question)

Iron Butterfly?

BTW, if I remember correctly, the song was supposed to be titled "In the garden of eden," the whoever wrote it was drunk and kept slurring those words.

Who did Dave Mustaine get the idea to name the album "Risk" from?

(in retrospect...this was prob'ly 60'sness)
Yes with the Iron Butterfly!(on all accounts)
my breakroom comrades would be impressed.

Well, headbanger spectre, I know Mustaine from Metallica and Megadeth but will have to pass on the answer to this.

Risk.
hmm...

I'm going with a hunch that it wasn't from someone who he personally knew, but rather some other person in the public eye that sparked an idea in his head. I'll guess Frank Zappa for no real good reason.

Nope, but I'll give you a hint, it was someone that he knew, and the idea came from an interview that this person had done.

Bingo. Lars said that Dave didn't take enough risks with his music, which led to the naming of the album.

Close enough:

Alice Cooper's name was brought about by a Ouija board and he was always a Christian, born a pastor's son and very strong in belief..... it can be heard even in his earliest music.

OK - easy one.

What session musician played for Bowie and Elton John before going solo and running the largest loss making show then staged in the UK?

For a bonus, what was the show?

I think it was Herbie Flowers too. He worked in Val Doonican's TV show. Is this the answer?
