Brilliant guesswork!!
He actually first played with Ace on his solo album. KISS didn't admit it at the time because they still thought they could lure Peter back. Once they figured out Peter was gone, they held open auditions, because Anton was already working for Letterman.
Damn good drummer too by the way.
