send him to the town square of Stormwind and keep hitting him with the pimp stick until you get some tricks outta that ho.

yeah I don't talk about selling my account in game even in tells, its just not good practice since blizzard can basically render the entire account worthless with a click of the button.

Small update from me,

Sense last time I posted I now have 4/5 or Aldor, have the spellfire belt, need a couple more mats for gloves, the I will work on robe. My raid guild can clear Kara in 2 runs and we have 1 shot gruul a couple times, are next task it getting Mag's down.

Warlock are scum, horrible, mouth breathing, no skill ass clowns, with whores for mothers. Spineless assholes that make the world (of warcraft) a worse place than it would be without them in it.

fear and drain life more noobs, your nerf will come soon!

I am sooo tired of being farmed for kills in BGs and arenas by locks.

lol, so level one, I did. I quit the game though cuz it's freaking true. My warlock was unstoppable. I had a maxed out hunter and paladin so by the time I got to the warlock I understood defense and offense pretty well in terms of playstyle (after 3 years of playing) but warlocks just ooze death, and its not even hard.
oh and dont bet on them getting nerfed anytime soon, people have been crying for warlock nerfs since they got deathcoil and people have been crying to buff ret paladins since TBC launched, and they haven't done either effectively.

Hakaar

I remember hakaar, but not the plague. must've been before my time. Horde was effected too right? Pretty funny, a 'real' plague wiping out WoW chars.

Ustwo 09-10-2007 07:25 AM

It was a nasty dot that spread.

I think the trick was for a warlock to get it on their pet, and they would dismiss the pet or some such. When they resummoned (in say the auction house) the pet still had the dot, and then everyone would get the dot which would then spread player to player.

I do miss WoW, or more what WoW could have been. Instead of the mudflation EQ fest it has become.

Truer words have never been said.

I remember me and Lasereth in a 2 vs. 2 arena match, we killed the other guy, and there was a warlock left - he killed us BOTH and he only had half HP - I was near full and Lasereth was 1/2 HP (priest and mage)

Also, Lasereth recently recruited a warlock for our 2 vs. 2 team - they boosted our score from 8-7 this week to 17-8 with no practice......

don't take it too hard, most people don't know how to fight a balance druid for the simple fact that there isn't very many of us out there.

I'm sure after a few fights you would have adapted and overcome and kicked my ass back to feral spec.

Nice! How are the arenas as a priest? I have kept my priest as solely PVE. I have nearly 1800+healing and 180 mp5 while casting so I can cast forever and pretty much never run out of mana but I get one shotted by anything in an instance/raid. Leveling a mage and warrior for PVP.

Here's my hunter.. had to Xfer him to PTR to get a screenshot with normal looking shoulders. :)

lagoonguy 09-17-2007 06:03 AM

i don't know about other classes, but as a rogue, i seldom have trouble taking down loks. in fact, it's the first squishy i'll go for, given them, mages, and priests. I'm subletly rogue, so I use a Shadow Step ambush (20% bonus dmg) right off the bat, and that usually wipes them down 50%. they start DOTing me left and right, and i get a shiv in which immediately cripple poisons them, slowing them down so i can stay on em. I Cloak Of Shadows out of the dots, try and get a gouge and a backstab in, use my pvp trinket to get out of fears... i usually have no issues with them.

Now i'm sure they'll nerf Cloak of Shadows before too long, but i'm enjoying it now.

Reese 09-21-2007 10:22 AM

I just got my T5 shoulders off Void Reaver. Now I don't have to wear S2 Arena when I want lightning flying from me. :) I almost had VR Leggings but I didn't have enough DKP to buy both :( Oh well..

oh and I hit 12.5k health vs Kazzak without commanding shout last night.. fun stuff being able to be able to stay in for the entire enrage :) All I gotta do it pop a healstone and I'm good to go!

Redjake 09-23-2007 03:16 PM

10083 HP unbuffed on my mage

Not too bad spell damage, either - around +500

I realize this could be better, but I think it's swell for only playing 1-2 hours per week

As soon as I get the Season 2 (maybe 3) staff, I will have 10,300 HP and +630 spell damage

The high HP helps tremendously in arena - more than my +800 spell damage ever did

Which is why my 2v2 partner is a warlock and not a warrior. He's been full affliction/demonology/destruction(and every spec inbetween) and it basically amounts to the same thing, stomping people out without much effort.

Shauk 09-28-2007 12:26 PM

yeah my lock is ridiculous. I had an epic battle against a 70 pally on my 62 lock. fear is so god damn cheap, I sent his ass running into a fel reaver. Silly paladin, dont you know you can't gank people? (I played a paladin for 2 1/2 years so I'm quite able to predict and take advantage of their limited arsenal.)

Not that I'm playing anymore really.

Apokx 09-28-2007 05:58 PM

I'm mainly sticking with the Paladin because he's the best geared 70 of the two I play(other is a druid). When Death Knights come out I will be switching to that asap, because I've been waiting on them since release.

Considering I've yet to play a flavor of the month class and enjoy the benefits of being op, I'm hoping DK's are imbalanced at least for a while.

Shauk 09-28-2007 08:16 PM

i'm sure they'll have problems.

i've quit the game but I have no doubt the expansion will find a way to suck me back in somehow. Provided I even have a game worthy computer by then. all I really got now is this laptop and have you TRIED pvping on a 12 inch vaio and a touchpad? lol yeah, how about no. people would mistake me for a gold farmer if I tried playing on this thing.

Anxst 09-30-2007 05:28 AM

I'm actually thinking about coming back to WoW, on an entirely different server. I just want casual play, and if I go back to Gorgonnash I know I'll get sucked back into raiding. Sure, My Level 70 Tier 3 and 4 armored druid will just be sitting there, but so be it.

Thinking maybe a pally, on an RP server.

I would suggest something else. I'm really not impressed with Paladins currently(in arenas mostly)compared to other classes. Although leveling as a prot Paladin is tons of fun, pulling 8 mobs will keep you from being bored.

I leveled on a pvp server, and prot is actually pretty good for pvp too, just bust out a 2hander when reckoning procs and you can murder people at lower levels.

but on RP you wont have that issue.

Shauk 10-08-2007 11:01 PM

yeah the temptation is always there for me, it's still a great game in it's own right just for being "fun" to play in some ways. In others it sometimes feels horribly broken. But thats life.

I just miss my community, even though I was never necessary and easy to replace, another cog in the loot grinding machine.

I'm having fun with the Hallows End quests. I got a rickety broom off of the jack o'lantern that appears after the Headless Horseman attacks Brill. My warlock is 35, so no fast broom mounts for me. The Rickety Broom only goes as fast as I walk, but it FEELS faster! I also have managed to get some pumpkin heads, 50+ treats, and a couple of costume wands, including a random wand.

I do miss playing with Skogafoss. I've been playing TF2 as of late and she's not so interested in such things.

I leveling a lock on ursin. i heard their getting nerfed though. is it even worth it to keep playing him now? hes level 41 atm

Shauk 10-25-2007 03:44 PM

take what you hear with a grain of salt. Most the people who play warlocks don't realize just how good they've got it.

all they're doing is bringing consistency in to the game by making healing debuffs work on warlocks heals now (they weren't before) It means ZOMG they might actually die like every other class can (as long as you can debuff them to get gimpy heals)

I find it amusing that people are already abandoning easy mode because the class might actually be balanced in some respect.

Priest buffs/Hunter buffs/Warlock fixes(not nerfs)in 2.3 = Everyone reroll because we cant play a class that isnt the best in the game!

Warlocks have alot of versatility and if nerfing a single ability(which isnt even a nerf, it's a fix for something that makes sense)makes people jump ship, they probably dont understand the way that class works anyway.

Hit 40 last night and got my felsteed. I love that warlocks get the riding skill for free--I went and bought a hawkstrider to ride around for fun.

This next patch won't affect me that much because I'm so little, though I am disappointed that they are taking away my ability to channel spells through walls.

Wow I have 1850 or so +healing unbuffed, that is 600 +dmg and no hp! I have more than that in my dps gear. I fail to see many great priest buffs.

Now if they changed our 31 and 41 point holy talents and put meditation in the holy tree and made divine spirit trainable then I would say we are about perfectly balanced when it comes to healing.

But eh, I still really like playing my priest.

In Arenas, Pally's are probably one of the most annoy to kill. And a plus is that they don't need as much resilience as other classes to be effective. Of course that could be due to the fact that your likely to be one of the last classes to be beat on.

70 gnome lock with decent gear, epic flyer, herb/alch, exaulted darn and was a day 1 character of the server. Was in the "top" guild on the server so has a good reputation

too bad fear ward was nerfed, but hey i will take it. the +dmg to heal gear is just so we can farm without having to carry two sets of gear. It's a nice gesture but too bad my 1900 +heal only gives 633 +dmg and no damage talents and really low stam. My damage gear has more +dmg than that.

Were you expecting to have more damage with healing gear than a normal set of spell damage gear?

I have 700 spell dmg(1700+ healing), and can do decent burst damage as Holy(3k if I'm lucky). It's not very mana efficient at all but I can count at least four times in the arena where I had to 1v1 someone and lost because I didnt do shit for damage.

Slight topic change: With 2.3 out Hunters are alot better with their new talents apparently. Arcane Shot is bugged and removing buffs like Shadowform and Ghost Wolf. Obviously overpowered, but pretty hilarious since it's just a bug.

this change is only so you don't have to carry two sets for farming. If you have 1700+heal in arena's you are seriously lacking in stam, armor and resillience and thus will get stomped. Also, with 1700 you would only have about 566 +dmg not 700. PVE healing gear is only meant for farming.

high_jinx 11-16-2007 12:13 PM

o man, i love the new druid shifting! im tearing up warsong gulch, runnin in cheetah.... see a horde hunter ahead.... insta-shift to bear and feral charge.... back to cheetah, and cya! just that little half second where i had to go caster before made all the difference!

i also started levelling a new ele sham and its great that they can automatically use all weapons now, except for swords and polearms.

No idea why you just explained the change to me, so anyways...

Paladins have a talent in our Holy tree that grants us 35% of our INT as spell damage/healing. 1700 healing + int + Blessing of Kings, I have almost exactly 700 spell damage.

Even with the new spell damage, I'm not even close to being efficient at grinding npcs.
However, it does come in handy at times in pvp, where someone is on the brink of death and a holy shock/hammer of wrath is just enough to finish them off before a heal lands.

Pragma 11-21-2007 09:16 PM

I dunno, I have a resto druid with about 1900 +heal and it's not as efficient as my mage alt at grinding, no, but it's 630 +dmg is a damn sight better than +0. I haven't gone back to Leotheras since the change (we may do an attunement run next month), but being able to throw out my spell damage set is nice.

Farming is much much easier now. I like the change.

Try selling/giving away your character.

Honestly, this was my strongest support in quitting. There's that and preferring to get laid over getting the next epic.

ObieX 11-28-2007 06:57 PM

There is no escape.

However, you may be able to replace one addiction with another. The way i quit Everquest was by starting to play WoW. Or you could get a second job that sucks up all of your free time.

NukingFuts 12-02-2007 11:19 AM

Vivendi just announced today that they are going to work a deal with Activision and merge. The new company will be called Activision Blizzard. Hopefully this doesn't screw up WoW too bad.

Pragma 12-02-2007 11:40 AM

I doubt they'll touch Blizzard at all aside from changing the company logo. They've got a game that brings them over a hundred million dollars per month, there's no way in the world they'll do anything to harm it.

"Activision Blizzard" - not the catchiest name.

Since the announcement I have hoped that someone would fire Tom Chilton. I seriously cannot believe they pay the guy money for the job he does.

His approach to class balance where "this isnt broken in 5v5 arenas" or "not balanced for 1v1" is inexcuseable.

They should find someone with talent and a drive for making the game enjoyable for all classes in every situation.

That said, the merge probably wont change anything.

I haven't played since I said I made that blood elf rogue, I still don't wanna. The way to quit is to sell your account, I still have 2 inactive but I don't think I'll ever touch em till the next xpac, i'm just burnt out on it. In all honesty I'd rather play SC2

Esoteric 12-02-2007 03:31 PM

Warlocks are overpowered.

Really overpowered.

Shauk 12-02-2007 03:47 PM

Seanland 01-16-2008 06:59 PM

blktour 01-16-2008 07:21 PM

I just started playing about 3 weeks ago. Got my Paladin currently to lvl 28. Seems to me that between 25 and 30 most quests are either too dang easy, or too hard. Kinda like that feeling when you are 19 and 20 years old, you are considered an adult, but still not QUITE old enough to drink. So Hi everyone! and good gaming!

ObieX 01-18-2008 07:24 AM

if you're kinda stuck like that is usually means you need to find a new quest hub/zone. for 29-31, i reccomend the shimmering flats race track in thousand needles.... a pain to get to if you're alliance, but blazing fast ez quests and levelling to be had.

MahlerIsGod 01-20-2008 01:17 AM

Almost, ALMOST put the discs in the harddrive to reinstall the game this evening. Had to stop myself because I knew where it would end. I miss it and despise it in equal measure. Odd I know........

Halx 01-20-2008 08:25 AM

The thing about WoW is... it only gets hard when you start raiding. Even then, it's mostly about how well your group is coordinated. From there, being good is less about actual skill and more about how much you research the mechanics of your class and the mechanics of a particular encounter. Real talent really only gets a chance to show through in PvP and hectic raid battles, and EVEN THEN its largely dependent on the gear you have.

If you're waiting for it to get hard, it wont. WoW is a game of positive reinforcement and time expenditure.

Couldnt have said it better myself.

It really did improve my time management skills..

You know.. 8 hours of school, 4 hours of work, 8 hours of WoW! 3 hours of sleep! 1 hour misc. =D

Makes me pine for the pre-raid days. The potential of WoW to be a skill game was there, they just took it in another direction.

What game really requires skill? The way people use 'skill' confuses me. Though I basically agree that there isn't much skill involved in WoW. To you, what's a (video) game that is pure skill?

ObieX 01-20-2008 09:10 PM

Marble Madness

snowy 01-20-2008 11:09 PM

I hit 70! I'm on my way to get my flying mount now.

Unreal Tournament Instagib. One shot, one kill. Level playing field whether you've been on a killing spree or just respawned. It's all about dodging to avoid your opponents aim while having him falling into your crosshairs at the same time. That game definitely separated the skilled from the scrubs.

Any good FPS. COD4 which is my latest one requires skill, a good deal of it. WoW was actually like that in the 'green days' back before raiding gave such huge advantages, not quite as much as an fps, but by knowing your class and being prepared you could win a lot of fights you shouldn't have won on paper.

YaWhateva 01-21-2008 09:56 AM

I don't know how twitch reactions (and spray and pray like you put it) make a game any more skillful.

I'm also hoping to get to lvl 70 one day...however, by the time I do that, I'm sure the next expansion will be out.

FPS's are not all twitch reactions, in fact thats only half of what makes a good player.

Knowing the maps, knowing how to use the maps, and knowing how people will react will do it are just as important.

My favorite personal example of this was back in my CS days (before the hacks). I was one of those players that would make any team I was on, but I ran into someone with better twitch skills than I had. Face to face, head one, odds are I'd lose. So after a match or two, I adapted, and learned his style. I anticipated where he would be and killed him 4 or 5 times, before he finally quit the server. I was always moving so he couldn't anticipate where I would be, and he never changed his patterns.

But even without using your brain, twitch reactions are in fact a skill, or does that mean sports like being a hockey goalie or a batter in baseball have no skills?
