I have pretty good radar sense already.. I'm typing and using my
peripheral vision to keep an eye on my new responsibility
and I swear that Quincy creature knows me better than I do really.

Wow he is curled on my foot now chewing on his rope toy...

For at least a few days,....every third word out of my mouth will have something to do with my doggie.

Un-fuck the word fuck....what the fuck does it fucking mean any more
anyway,,,fuck it...we need something better than fuck...

But as long as we still live in a patriarchal society 'fornicating without the kings consent' will continue to rule

A good book to read is The Gate To Womens Country- Sherri S Tepper.

Ourcrazymodern? 01-05-2008 05:26 PM

My goddess!
The Gate to that place
should be closed.

Okay, I read it.
But in the way sexism's
wrong, it was also.

Tepper is one of my favorites.

ring 01-05-2008 05:36 PM

Me too ..of course the sexist strictures were pale..
She didn't publish until she was older than we are..

Julian May ..Clifford Simak...Le Guin.. C.J Cheryh..Even good old
snotty Harlon Ellison...I treasure it all..

I am so well fed and never full...except of myself at times but that is what good friends are for... to hand you a pint and bring you down a peg...

I love Irish writers...someone might tell me thats rascist(not any of you guys of course)

Peoples are mostly wonderful weird..I love you sir..and dammit where is Jetee
Don't we all hope he is happy and prospering...Hey Zookster and
Hispanic on a bicicleta, and squeebish, and the jewel lady and nasty nick..
and if I have forgotten anyone when then ..heh I forgot..
Eso fo sho...
lovie dovie yumbos for all...

I might need sedation...ehh no not really..

What's got two thumbs and doesn't give a crap?

Bob Kelso.

Some people are dog people, some people are cat people. Me, I am buying a Roomba, I'll name him Roomby, and he will have a collar with spikes. That way when I buy his brother, the iRobot Scooba, I can name his brother Scooby.

Scrubs is the shit. I think I'm allergic to cats, and I don't really give a shit about small dogs. Give me a big dog any day.

Hain 01-06-2008 06:17 AM

Yeah my first two comments are actually completely unrelated. My friend reminded me of Scrubs so I posted that. Then I read about the dogs and thought about buying a Roomba. And I will hug him and squeeze him, and love him, and he will be my Roomby.

Quincy has so many different shades of brown
and gold tipped with black
and a little cream spot on his chin..and his fur is squizzley
curly in spots and straight in others...
I think we should all walk around with bed-head-hat hair.

I was handed an envelope that said "to the new owner of Princey"

This family wants me to have this picture and to call them also...
Wish I could show the faces..the young man wrote the letter..
I will call them soon...Quincy is in the left arm of the girl I think..

since I found a "longest thread ever" on another forum
it's 48873 posts long at this moment :(

And to make matters worse,
still another forum has a longest thread
currently counted at 18605

But none of the quality of content we have here so I'm happy again.

PS: on a lighter note, have any of you seen that Big Think thing yet? I haven't seen it mentioned on TFP so I'm wondering if we're giving it the silent treatment.

GOtta use YOUTUBE tags around the video n7ZkQC0riwc.

Oh and that useless bit of script from before was something that took me an hour to figure out through researching. It takes a group of PCM WAV files and converts them to FLAC at various compression schemes (0 through 8) in order to see what it is I really gain with them...
Files used were a anime song, a classical song, 3 80's arena rock songs, 1 industrial song, 1 trance song, 1 metal song, and 2 rock songs (1 hard rock, 1 soft rock).

I have no leaf.

FLAC -8 gives the most compression, only insignificantly more so than FLAC -5, by the way.

ring 01-08-2008 03:55 AM

A soft rock shatters with less force.

Hain 01-08-2008 04:05 AM

And my script is wrong:

flactest.bat
for /L %%n in (0:1:8) do (MKDIR ".\FLAC %%n" && for %%f in (*.wav) do flac -%%n -o ".\FLAC %%n\%%f.flac" "%%f")

That way FLAC doesn't bitch at you that the directory doesn't exist.

ObieX 01-08-2008 05:38 AM

an otter it is. and i guess my fuckin' up the embedding was appropriate for the song i was posting. :p
