It would also be nice, as if you had a bunch of dates, and you sorted them lexographically, they would simultaneously be sorted chronologically. Neat huh?

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:20 PM

But failing my wild pipe dream - at least our date notation has an internal logic...you Americans...sheesh, for the birds man.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:20 PM

And yes I am judging an entire nation on the way that they write their dates. And yes, I am ok with that.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:21 PM

And oh, look, cool - we've passed post 800.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:21 PM

That's great, but it didn't take very long....

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:22 PM

Time flies when you're berating Americans, huh?

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:22 PM

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a bananna.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:23 PM

I like an arrow too...

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:23 PM

808! It's like 404....except twice as big!

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:24 PM

That would be a good upgrade to webservers. Don't give up looking for a page after just looking once.....go back and try a second time! Then if it fails the second time, give both 404s at the same time.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:25 PM

You know a while back I saw a website 'museum' dedicated to 404 pages.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:26 PM

Interesting huh? Very 'postmodern'. A webpage devoted to cataloguing other webpages which cannot be found. Or something. I don't know. Postmodernism sucks.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:28 PM

Postmodernism is so passé by now.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:30 PM

And all the postpostmodernists are on the verge of selling out man. Going mainstream. It used to be about the text, man.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:32 PM

I would consider myself more of a post^n modernist. Or something. God what a load of pretentious twaddle.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:32 PM

I can't believe I just used the word 'twaddle'.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:35 PM

GIS for 'twaddle':

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb....%20Twaddle.JPG

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:37 PM

May Twaddle Delf!? That's got to be the worst name of all time. I mean anyone of those three words would be disappointing to find in your name - but all three? That's just unfortunate. Evil parents.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:39 PM

Take not of the use of the exclaimation mark followed by the question mark in the above post.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:40 PM

What do you call that pair of symbols when they conbine to form a single ligature?

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:40 PM

Anyone‽....

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:42 PM

It's called the interrobang.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:42 PM

Learn something new everyday, don't you‽

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:44 PM

Anyway; back to Ms. May Twaddle Delf.....

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:46 PM

Delf? Do you guys have that word in the states? Actually, a google search leads me to believe that the word isn't used outside of Ireland....like I said, you learn something new everyday. Even I do.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:46 PM

Anyway, delf; it means, plates and bowls and cups and that sort of stuff.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:47 PM

or so I've heard....I mean I'm not an expert or anything.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:47 PM

Where is the local delf expert when you need him?

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:49 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/csflim/a.jpg

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:49 PM

He looks like he could be a delf expert.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:50 PM

Somebody should tell him that he shouldn't be spending so much time thinking about thinking about himself. Less of that. More thinking about delf.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:56 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/csflim/acopy.jpg

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:57 PM

That's better. No more slacking off!

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:57 PM

It's so hard to get good delf experts these days.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:59 PM

It's a joke really.

CSflim 02-08-2006 02:59 PM

I really sound like a geek now ;) Our futures have already been scripted by the multinational corporations and the massive media conglomerates, who count on a controllable and easily-influenced populace to keep their profit margins stable. They rely on you to live a lifestyle that is defined by the accumulation of material possessions, placing you in debt and in their power. Once we become aware of this terrifying form of corporate feudalism disguised as a safer life in suburban communities like Golders Green, perhaps we will enlighten ourselves enough to see the grim cinderblock walls that imprison our long dormant souls - and perhaps we might even do something about it. I took a Xanax and I'm going back to sleep. With any luck, I won't wake up any time soon, if at all. My life is great huh?

Text not mine; stolen from a blog somewhere. That's not cheating is it?

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:01 PM

Alanis Morisette - The most worthless, pretentious female vocalist ever. Single-handedly ruined the word "irony" for those of us that know what it really means. Let me have a second to get over the shock. Okay, over it. I warn you about darklinks though, there's a lot of pathetic stupid Goths out there, watch you aren't bored to death by the endless babble of angst and uber-bad poetry.

I feel more like Stile everyday. OK where is my sweetie Styx's update?? I do anything and everything in my spare time! I am always with my friends. I love being with people! Besides, you are already so stupid and lame in your own unique way that I don't even have to dedicate an essay to you. "Judge not lest thee be juged thyself" why do those fucking Christians judge?

Do these assholes have nothing better to than send me shit like this?

So maybe discrediting ideas by labeling them as vindictive is an old tradition among JRR's hangers-on. Big deal. What's more important is that ancient Greek dramatists discerned a peculiar virtue in being tragic. JRR would do well to realize that they never discerned any virtue in being avaricious.

Maybe stop and reflect upon what a jealous little ass eater you are? Come on little one, come eat daddy's ass.

My birthday is May 3rd 1984, so you do the math to figure out how old I am! What kind of dark and chaotic secrets are hidden beneath the surface of trendy coffee shops and bulk warehouse superstores? I totally don't know what I'm going to do this holiday weekend!! I had my first nightmare in over 10 years last night.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:02 PM

Do you ever think you would actually, really kill yourself?
2/8 3:12:02 PM | JRR

Treating everyone the same seems the best way. Why all the good things from the 80's? Why even the 80s? Not much of an update today since I'm completely and thoroughly drained. I'm sure you'll all live. I'm white. Middle class. Angry.

On September 10th, 1999, I walked into Calltech Communications looking for a jobby job since i had just travelled back up to good old Columbus, Ohio from my recent SUMMER HELL in Alabama.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:02 PM

I don't feel guilty about cheating, because it says at the bottom;

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:05 PM

Well, maybe more random blog posts later....

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:06 PM

speaking of later, it is now significantly later than when I started posting here. Interesting...time, has passed. Quite a puzzle. I'm sure that only Dr. Klein P.H.D. has the answer.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:08 PM

Also, I would like to take this moment to say that I'm a bit suspicious of Dr. Klein's qualifications...

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:08 PM

I think he may have gotten his degree from one of those online 'degree mills'.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:10 PM

Also, I should point out that the "P.H.D. after his name is nothing to do with a Doctorate of Philosophy.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:13 PM

They are his initials; Palmer-Harry Daily. Full name Klein-Palmer "Harry" Daily.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:13 PM

I hate that guy.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:14 PM

Although he is a fantastic pseudo-scientist.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:14 PM

The absolute best in his field.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:14 PM

In fact he is so good, all is forgiven.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:15 PM

Even if he has a crap name.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:15 PM

Wow, look at that, Post #852...

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:17 PM

852 is reasonably close to 900....

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:17 PM

That sounds like a challenge!

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...-stinkoman.jpg

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:18 PM

Can I keep up the inane chit chat for much longer?

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:18 PM

It's really wearing me down!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:19 PM

Will I be able to make it?

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:19 PM

The suspense!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:20 PM

My Ultimate Game of All Time Ever seems to have got lost in the Longest Thread Ever.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:20 PM

Not really suprising really, I guess, given that this thread is growing so fast....

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:21 PM

expontentially in fact!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:21 PM

Too lazy to go back and bump it....it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:22 PM

Or a post in the Longest Thread Ever.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:22 PM

Yes, in fact that is quite an appropriate analogy in fact.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:23 PM

But see if I can get from memory....

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:23 PM

There was "What are you listening to right now"

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:23 PM

Answer: Weird Al Yankovic: Dog Eat Dog.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:24 PM

There was word linkage, and picture association, but they need the seeds....so...yeah, whatever.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:25 PM

Like! What-ever!!!!!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:25 PM

I'm starting to get tired now. Good. Mission accomplished. Sort of.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:27 PM

I guess I will have to let Dr. Klein-Palmer "Harry" Daily take over from me.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:28 PM

What the hell is with the name Daily? Is he a newspaper or something?

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:29 PM

Have you had you serving of Harry today? Have you had your Daily Harry?

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:29 PM

Extra! Extra! Read all about it in The Klein-Palmer Daily.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:29 PM

Anway, I believe I was leaving. For sleep.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:30 PM

Goodnight all!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:31 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ineering-1.jpg
Greetings all. It is me, once again, Dr. Klein P.H.D.

I see that that Flim bastard has been spreading malicious lies about me!

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:33 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ineering-1.jpg

Those rumours are for the most part somewhat unfounded. I'll say no more. Won't dignify them with a reaction. That wouldn't be very scientific of me.

CSflim 02-08-2006 03:36 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ineering-1.jpg

Anway, we are going to be conducting another scientific experiment today. On the agenda is; On The Scientific Effects Of A Magnet On Sulphur.

What will the scientific effect be? I have to admit to being pretty excited about this one. As they say, curiosity is the essense of the scientific mind.

Jeff 02-08-2006 03:45 PM

I love beers!

Jeff 02-08-2006 04:01 PM

I hate bears!

Jeff 02-08-2006 04:01 PM

I am neutral about pears!

Jeff 02-08-2006 04:01 PM

I like most of my peers!

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:06 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-1.jpg
A scientific experiment was carried out to ascertain if sulphur is attracted to magnets.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:07 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-2.jpg

A lump of sulphur is placed in a little brown tray type thing. For those of you in the scientific field of Advanced Pointless Research you will realise that 'little brown tray type thing' is an actual technical term. Very scientific.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:08 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-3.jpg

The sulphur is transported to the base of a scientific tripod, and then covered with an ordinary tissue.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-4.jpg

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:08 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-5.jpg

We then take our experimental magnet.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:09 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-6.jpg

It is washed...

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:09 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-7.jpg

...and then dried. This is to remove any magentic impurities in the magnet. Impurities wreak havok on scientific results.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:10 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-8.jpg

The magnet is then fixed to a movable clamp at the top of the tripod.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:10 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Untitled-9.jpg

The tissue is now removed from the base of the tripod.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:11 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-10.jpg

And then carefully disposed of. This tissue is now classified as Type-II hazardous scientific waste.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:11 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-11.jpg

We can see that the lump of sulphur is now totally exposed to the magnetic power of the magent. Let the science begin!

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:12 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-12.jpg

The magnet is lowered down towards the sulphur.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:12 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-13.jpg

And lowered even more. It's very close now.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:13 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-14.jpg

So is sulhpur attracted to magnets?

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:13 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-15.jpg

No.

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:13 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ntitled-16.jpg

CSflim 02-08-2006 04:16 PM

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ineering-1.jpg

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Science has spoken. The Effects Of Magnets On Sulphur is; nothing. Well I hope that you all had as much fun with this experiment as I did.

And I do believe that that makes post #900. Goodnight all.
