WOW! Gorgeous car, one of my favorite of all time ...as you knew :) Your dad had one too, right? OK, next time I'm in Cali you get a big hug and kiss.

That is exactly the color mine was, though I had black leather interior. I like those wheels above, but mine had the knock off hub spoke wheels. ...Sorry you got my motorhead in gear... the one above is post 1967 since it does not have the beautiful (imo) glass covered front headlights; also the rear lights and rear bumper had changed to the somewhat more bulky design after 1967, along with the more bulky front orange lights under the bumper; also they detuned the engine, my 1967 and previous years had triple SU carbs but then they went to only two carbs. If/when I do it again, I'll get another 1967 since I think it embodied the best of all features in that car.

My Big foot
by Calendula Petal

Hey Penny, what`s with the big foot
oh you know me, I knowingly say,
ah, you tripped over some fresh air again
Yes, must have been ... Saturday.

How did you fall on fresh air?
well, its difficult thing to explain,
one minute I am just walking around
the next, on the floor in pain.

yes, it Looks extremely painful ,
its the size of a red balloon,
oh you dont have to remind me, I say,
been at hosptial all afternoon.

Did they say that it was fractured?
nah, a sprain is all they could find,
but, they asked my husband jokingly,
if I was of sound body and mind

Well, dont mind me and my big foot!
you go ahead and all have a laugh
Ok, the doctor cheekingly said
and told the rest of the staff

Last night I just couldnt get to sleep
couldnt get comfy however I tried
So I ended up in the bathtub
with my big foot placed up on the side

Its not funny having a big foot,
But then there is something to say,
for being pampered, cosetted and waited on
by my loving husband all day.

What happens if I don't want to leave....I can picture that happening easily.

BadNick 12-08-2007 10:25 PM

I'm sure some freight ships still have a couple of berths for other passengers and I've heard of people going that way. Seems like a lot could go wrong with that approach unless you know exactly what you're getting into.

I've done a little bit of travelling, planning on a lot more. Lately Antarctica is on my radar screen since a couple years ago we made some equipment for a scientific station there and there's a chance I could go play with it. I want to explore it a little bit but I won't want to stay there for sure.

Sun Tzu 12-09-2007 11:38 AM

After such a cheerful commencement, a serious word would fain be heard; it appeals to the most serious minds. Take care, ye philosophers and friends of knowledge, and beware of martyrdom! Of suffering “for the truth’s sake"! even in your own defense! It spoils all the innocence and fine neutrality of your conscience; it makes you headstrong against objections and red rags; it stupefies, animalizes, and brutalizes, when in the struggle with danger, slander, suspicion, expulsion, and even worse consequences of enmity, ye have at last to play your last card as protectors of truth upon earth—as though “the Truth” were such an innocent and incompetent creature as to require protectors! and you of all people, ye knights of the sorrowful countenance, Messrs Loafers and Cobweb-spinners of the spirit! Finally, ye know sufficiently well that it cannot be of any consequence if YE just carry your point; ye know that hitherto no philosopher has carried his point, and that there might be a more laudable truthfulness in every little interrogative mark which you place after your special words and favourite doctrines (and occasionally after yourselves) than in all the solemn pantomime and trumping games before accusers and law-courts! Rather go out of the way! Flee into concealment! And have your masks and your ruses, that ye may be mistaken for what you are, or somewhat feared! And pray, don't forget the garden, the garden with golden trellis-work! And have people around you who are as a garden—or as music on the waters at eventide, when already the day becomes a memory. Choose the GOOD solitude, the free, wanton, lightsome solitude, which also gives you the right still to remain good in any sense whatsoever! How poisonous, how crafty, how bad, does every long war make one, which cannot be waged openly by means of force! How PERSONAL does a long fear make one, a long watching of enemies, of possible enemies! These pariahs of society, these long-pursued, badly-persecuted ones—also the compulsory recluses, the Spinozas or Giordano Brunos—always become in the end, even under the most intellectual masquerade, and perhaps without being themselves aware of it, refined vengeance-seekers and poison-Brewers (just lay bare the foundation of Spinoza's ethics and theology!), not to speak of the stupidity of moral indignation, which is the unfailing sign in a philosopher that the sense of philosophical humour has left him. The martyrdom of the philosopher, his “sacrifice for the sake of truth,” forces into the light whatever of the agitator and actor lurks in him; and if one has hitherto contemplated him only with artistic curiosity, with regard to many a philosopher it is easy to understand the dangerous desire to see him also in his deterioration (deteriorated into a “martyr,” into a stage-and- tribune-bawler). Only, that it is necessary with such a desire to be clear WHAT spectacle one will see in any case—merely a satyric play, merely an epilogue farce, merely the continued proof that the long, real tragedy IS AT AN END, supposing that every philosophy has been a long tragedy in its origin.

An example:

ring 12-09-2007 12:01 PM

Reminds me of a Performance Art Theatre, south of Market st. S.F. Ca 1981,

and my neighbor who has had a stroke. We play cribbage.

Sun Tzu 12-09-2007 01:17 PM

Ah playing cribbage! Consider this: It cannot be helped: the sentiment of surrender, of sacrifice for one’s neighbour, and all self-renunciation-morality, must be mercilessly called to account, and brought to judgment; just as the aesthetics of “disinterested contemplation,” under which the emasculation of art nowadays seeks insidiously enough to create itself a good conscience. There is far too much witchery and sugar in the sentiments “for others” and “NOT for myself,” for one not needing to be doubly distrustful here, and for one asking promptly: “Are they not perhaps—DECEPTIONS?"—That they PLEASE— him who has them, and him who enjoys their fruit, and also the mere spectator—that is still no argument in their FAVOUR, but just calls for caution. Let us therefore be cautious!

An example: (alarming- yet distance when the element of Pongo Molo is added)

I remember the rain coming down torrentially, for two weeks.....
I think it was 1983 maybe, in San Francisco.

It meant I could not go to work, I operated a hot dog-pretzel cart at that time, some mornings I would wake up, hear the rain, and depending on how much I relished going back to sleep, or the thought of losing a days pay,
colored my perspective...mostly I was happy to pull the covers up and tried
to slip back into the good dream I was having.

As difficult as may be none-the-less, the feeling must increase behind the conjecture associated with asking such a difficult thing. Epsecially when elected leaders change the founded views on using mind altering susbstances. Write dammit! Just as the glaciers increase when in equatorial regions the sun shines upon the seas with greater force than hitherto, so may a very strong and spreading free-spiritism be a proof that somewhere or other the force of feeling has grown extraordinarily.
