I have no idea why some of you guys are mixing up the numbers, but I got another one of those palindrone things 11and8and11 You guys made me do it ...I had to go hear Robert Frost read in his own voice ...about snow, no less "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" I found here http://www.salon.com/audio/2000/10/05/frost/ On the number mixup, let's imagine some intruiging story about what happened to "the missing post numbers" written this cold Winter Day by a famous but anonymous Poet Lariat one snowy cold night on TFP as I arose to take a pee I heard a creak in the upstairs rafters it must be the ghost of lost post's laughter there was a mixup in the numbers ring thought she got the good one before slumbers but alas we all realized by then that badnick stole it, yet again |

I cannot figure out where two posts went...
someone is playing with us... my turn for the loo. (EDIT) HaHaHaHa! My little imaginary friend who had become visible, for two posts, many pages back, has been liquidated. I am the one responsible for the number shift.... My apologies to all, oh shoot.....that really messed up OCM's math for many pages. I feel sad about that. |
Where's the Twilight Zone music for the disappearing posts?

i guess we're up to 11819 and the randomness never ends, so lets have fun before the day ends
|
Today is all about details...
on the phone, navigating many menus.. The lady at the agency was very pleasant, all appears to be falling into place.... I am most happy. |
This is not random, it is a thought out discourse that went through my mind this morning:
Our pet red eared slider turtle is still in semi-hibernation. We've had him for over 8 years, his shell was about 3 or 4" long when we got him, now he's almost 12" long. We worry about him a little, and check him often. My kids keep asking why he's not eating or moving much "dad, is he dead?" but he's done this for about the last 7 years or so, I believe it to be normal ...for a turtle named Franklin. Wake up soon, Frankin; we have good tasting bugs waiting for you. He loves to tear cicadas apart so when we catch one, into the tank it goes buzzing around and Franklin aggressively attacks; he seems to be the antithesis of slow and laid back, he's very aggressive when not hibernating so his chances of getting a job in those comcast commercials is zilch. Big earthworms are his favorite, we dig them out from under our cut grass/branches/weeds pile, plenty there for our fishing needs plus his dietary supplement. |
Turtles are a readily evident masterpiece of design.
My sister and her children discovered a box turtle that wandered into their yard some years ago, they built an enclosure to house him, and named him Hot-Rod... A few years later he decided to abscond, ( a hawk, or the resident terror, that was loose at the time in the form of a pit-bull might of got him.) anyhow..he ended up venturing to somewhere. |
I like non-random stories :)
ahhhh, we had a venturesome frog a couple years ago. At a pond not far from our home, from early spring until early fall the place is heavily populated by frogs, we like to hike around the pond, catch frogs, usually let them go; but once we kept a large bull frog I caught; took it home, made a real nice terrarium with pond for him, fed him bugs, etc. One day the boys were playing in their kiddie pool in the driveway and had the frog in the pool; they turned away for literally about 10 seconds, the frog is gone; we looked everywhere within 50 yards for that guy, under leaves, bushes, etc. but never found him. I hope he got home OK. It was just about 51 years ago, my favorite uncle Joe and I were driving down Delaware Ave. in Philadelphia in his latest new Buick, a '57 Roadmaster. He hit a bump in the road and I suddenly realized it was a turtle; so he pulls over and we're expecting a bit of a mess, but it was a box turtle, shell about 8" long, and it was unscathed. I took it home, built a box/house for him and had that guy for almost 10 years before he perished of seemingly natural causes; this one's favorite foods were baloney and watermelon which I would hand feed him along with as many flies as I could catch. PS: I think '57 was a very good year for women, too ...or I guess baby girls who eventually grow up to be women. |
57 was good for a chevy also..
thats funny.. Hot-Rod never seemed to be worse for wear eating bologna, as an occasional dessert... That reminds me of a story... my 3 year old niece came shrieking into the house..trembling and crying about seeing a snake with no eyes or a mouth... Turns out it was an earthworm... but the neat part is, her parents took the time to ask her questions, and eventually she understood the answer, and all laughter ensued. |

"I HAVE A GOLDEN TICKET" "ALL ABOARD" These large letterings my aged eyes appreciate. What song shall we sing together? |
It's funny you mention a song.
Don't be too put off by the artist. I don't like them either. My friend introduced me to a few of their less know songs, you know, the ones where they aren't screaming. This is Vermillion Pt 2. It is remixed to bring out the instruments in the background, sounds great. If you enjoy The Crow, you will enjoy this song. |

It's in the washing machine.
|
nope....although my mother hid my easter basket in there one year.
oh...found it..the dog absconded with it and hid it under his bed. I found other things under there as well...two pens, a sock, the cap to my lipstick, and a sandwich wrapper. |
wow, we're back! Hi everybody.
I couldn't get into the swing of the blog thing ...though I'm sure I could if this wasn't coming back and I had to. I think knowing this was coming back made me not exert the effort for change. The high here this afternoon is about 31F here in Philadelphia and vicinity; headed up 5 or 6F more tomorrow, then another 5F for Saturday. A rare flake or two (not me, I mean snow) but otherwise the kids are missing out on good sledding. |

11878....
hope you all have a great weekend.... |
I have to work.
|
I have to work too, otherwise I'd be home having fun. So instead, at least I'm having fun in work. And not only fun because I happen to be chitchatting with you guys now, though that is important fun, in work here we actually enjoy making weird widgets.
|
Widget making can be fun?
|
It can!
|
Morning, Eso! Can someone make me a widget? :p
|
11884
I have no idea how to make them. |
jewels,
While I have known women who enjoy a good widget making session, I think there is something in the genetic make-up of men that attracts us more intensely to widget making. And I don't mean "cosmetics" when I say make-up, though I have been known to wear eyeshadow and lashes on special occasions. Since we see miniaturization taking over the industry, we are getting more and more inquires about micro-machines. So our crack team of midget widget micro-machine makers is always searching for a better way http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...cs/midgets.jpg |
Miniaturization can be as fun as widgetmaking, or so I've heard.
Do you prefer the lash extenders or false eyelashes, BN? |
I would say I've never worn false eyelashes, though I have used lash extender. But my opinion on this hardly counts since I don't have to wear that stuff every day or for more than a few hours. My usual occasion for wearing make-up and various other women's clothes was to make sure I won our annual Miss America Contest ...my extended group of friends would have a large very fun annual bash on the day of the contest and with all due modesty and humility I have to say that I won all those Miss America contests. OK, my best friend Pete came in a close second, but I was really the best miss america around here.
This pic is from a few years ago, but you get the idea. And PLEASE keep this private just between us and don't spread this around the interweb or it could compromise my current status. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ohsopretty.jpg |
