Carleton University?
That red building in the background looks so governmenty. |
It's not Carlton, nor in Ottawa. The rocks in the pond are from the Devonian period. It is in a university, one of three in this particular city.
Is that part of Ryerson, just up the street from Salad King? I can't remember the name of the street though.
Daval,
You may be right. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=18&om=1 It looks like this is the building on Gould corner Victoria. The building in this background seems to be the building on the corner of Dundas and Victoria St. Ln. The Salad King is marked on the map. Let's see if you are correct. |
game on Daval. close enough anyway, It is a part of Ryerson, and is called Devo Pond.
Nice skating in the winter. |
I don't have any pics ready (i keep forgetting about this thread since our entire country was sent to the nonsense board). So somebody go nuts. Game on.
hmm...this one rings a bell for sure....
ya, it looks like a city hall...
It does look like a city hall but it is not.
I am continuing on the university theme. |
could this be mcgill in montreal?
wait, nevermind I found it:- Universite de Montreal someone post a new pic. I'll figure one out for my next turn. |
Daval is correct
Isn't that in the 1,000 Islands??? Is it Heart Island?
Wouldn't that be American territory if that's where it is??? |
You are correct. This is Boldt Castle on Heart Island on the St.Lawrence. This is indeed American Territory and is the border checkpoint.
I put this one because it is on the border.... Game on Leto! |
wow, pulled that one out of my ass! ok, looking for a pic.
here we go, from last August: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/DSC00374.jpg |

East Coast?
yes, it is on the east coast... Which pier? (what city)
Halifax Pier 21?
Game on Sticky! (well, I'm not sure about the exact pier number, I don't think it is the one that was our vesion of Ellis Island) but this is definitely taken on the Halifax waterfront.
wellington & elgin area in Ottawa.....
Nope, further west.
I will holdback on any specific hints for a while. |
Portage & Main in Winnipeg - commodity exchange tower
Portage & Main - Winnipeg is correct.
Is this in Alberta?
Actually, I think that it at Lake Muskoka.
maybe, but those fish ... are they salmon?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. But about 10 years ago I was heading to a ski competition at a place called 'horseshoe valley resort', which is near Orillia. But our young coach with a fan full of younger skiers in a blustry dark night ended up in a town where I think I saw that statue. He said 'Well, I knew we were lost, but it looks like we ended up in BC". A 15 minute drive took us over 2 hours.
ahh yes Horseshoe. I'm a Barrie boy, which is roughly a 30 min drive from there. 2 hrs from there would place you well within Muskoka.
Sorry guys, was in Montreal for the weekend. I'll accept Lake Muskoka as an answer although it is technically Gravenhurst.
Game on Bossnass |
I've really been trying to keep up with this thread/TFP in general. Still think it is a damn shame that it gets buried with the actual nonsense.
I don't know if this is a gimme or not. But its cold out right now, so it seemed appropriate. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...snass/ab10.jpg |
Can I say The Rocky Mountains...or do I have to be more specific?
I'm thinking you need to be a little more specific. But at least you've narrowed it down, because yes, this is in the Rockies.
Mount Robson?
Quote:
Aren't the rockies just amazing? I don't think that is Mt Robson though... too pointy? |
I wish we could have our canada forum back too :(
Yeah, too pointy for Mt. Robson. Not Columbia either.
The Rockies astound me every time I go. And I've literally gone hundreds if not thousands of times. |
