So I was curious as to the significance of this building and did some of my own googling with the following results:
at http://www.internvest.com/properties.htm I found: Lumsden Building Toronto, ON The Lumsden Building is a historical office building located on the northeast corner of Yonge and Adelaide. The ten storey building is completely renovated, offering both prime office and retail space. Located on the Yonge subway line and across the street from the PATH system, the Lumsden building stands in the core of Toronto’s financial district. Owned and Managed by Internvest Also at http://www.answers.com/topic/dominion-bridge-company I discovered that the building was constructed in 1910 with the assistance of (and this should interest our bridge fanatics) the Dominion Bridge Company. The city of Toronto designated it as a heritage site in 1978 and lists it as being built in 1909, rather than 1910: http://app.toronto.ca/heritage/browseLetter.do?letter=Y Lumsden Building, 1909, J.A. MacKenzie at 2-6 Adelaide St. E. -adopted by City Council on June 20, 1973 DESIGNATION BY-LAW PASSED BY CITY COUNCIL on Jan. 16, 1978 (designation plaque - 1979) And that's about all I could find. |
Quick simple one becuase it just fits in nicely with the season.

Gibraltar Point Toronto
Game on Sticky!
- The Gibraltar Point lighthouse is on one of the Toronto Islands. Supposedly, it is haunted. |

It is.
It is the Mont Tremblant village. |
Okay, here's one.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...50248926-1.jpg extra points if you can name the street. |
Montreal somewhere?
I am guessing Ontario, probably Ottawa.
is that on madison in toronto off bloor?
hmmm, I've never seen a house like that in Toronto. But it sure does put me in a Montreal state of mind... like it is close to McGill...
deleted: double post
Yes Montreal. But its on a specific historic spot in that city.
Hotel Dieu ?
Is it Sherbrooke street?
You got it Stick. Apparently its part of an historic district called the Golden Square mile.
I know the area, but I have never heard it termed the Golden Square mile.
(I am not claiming to know anything, however) OK, I guess this means that I post next. I have not been to this place, but kick myslelf for not going everytime I pass the signs pointing to this place while driving on the highway. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/429...264s425gf9.jpg |
look at all the Ferraris.
Which highway by the way? |
OK, I will give up the highway.
The busiest highway in Canada |
No one?
OK another hint. If I did stop there I would probably have to spend the night becuase I would probably not be in a condition to drive after my visit. |
Hmm. So along the 401 somewhere... Is it a banquet hall?
It looks familiar to me too.....
It is not a banquet hall.
Another hint: It is west of T.O. |
Is it Hooters?
If it is then i've been totally wrong about the target demographic.
Is it some sort of club or other house of debauchery?
Not hooters
Not a club or house of debauchery Don't let the Ferraris throw you off, they just stopped for a visit like most of us would wish we would. Ok, so what you know so far: - It is of the 401 (or at least there are signs telling you where to get off the 401 to go to this place) - It is west of T.O. - Some people leaving this place may not be in condition to drive. |
Is it a mausoleum?
Nope not a mosoleum.
