Leto 10-26-2007 09:05 AM

sorry for the delay Sticky. You were correct. FYI:

The Don Station, the last surviving station of the Belt Line built in 1899, was moved from its original location on the Don River just south of Queen Street starting on August 2, 1969. Two days later, the three pieces of the station were reassembled at its new location in Todmorden Mills.

Todmorden Mills is tucked to the side of the Don Valley pkwy in Toronto, just beside Pottery Road.

My question to you Sticky, is how did you manage to get to that painting?

Sticky 10-26-2007 09:13 AM

I did a search on old train station canada.
It was on the second page of results

Leto 10-30-2007 03:02 AM

is this an office building?

fresnelly 10-30-2007 05:16 AM

Cool building. Can you give us a hint on the industry?

Sticky 10-30-2007 06:00 AM

It is an Office building.
It is the Canadian headquarters of a huge company.

Leto 10-30-2007 08:52 AM

General Motors in Oshawa?

Sticky 10-30-2007 07:22 PM

Yes sir.

Leto 10-31-2007 05:23 AM

Leto 10-31-2007 07:34 AM

Leto 11-02-2007 05:04 AM

splck 11-02-2007 06:17 PM

That would be the White Rock pier.

Fly 11-03-2007 03:39 AM

man i remember when the sandcastle comps where there.........good times on that beach right there

Leto 11-03-2007 07:05 PM

Game on splck... I had my very first wild crab from a trap off of that pier...

splck 11-03-2007 08:37 PM

I puked beside the pier once during the old sandcastle competition. :paranoid: :oogle:

Leto 11-04-2007 04:41 AM

I know where that is, my mom was just there after her Alaskan cruise... it's on Vancouver island... hang on.

edit...

Back. Is it Chemainus? About half an hour south of Nanaimo?

splck 11-05-2007 06:59 PM

Chemainus is it. Lot's of murals in that town, nice pub too.

Leto 11-05-2007 08:11 PM

Sticky 11-06-2007 06:39 AM

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia?

Leto 11-06-2007 12:44 PM

hmmm, close but no, not Lunenburg. Lunenburg has a hill with stores and houses on it rising out of the harbour, very similar to White Rock...

Sticky 11-06-2007 02:13 PM

Mahone Bay, NS

I was misled by the place ment of a pic on a site with regards to the explanation text.

Am I right?

Leto 11-07-2007 03:35 AM

Sticky, you are indeed correct. Game On!

Leto 11-08-2007 12:44 PM

The building looks like a seminary. is it?

Sticky 11-08-2007 01:05 PM

It is not a seminary now.

That is a good question.
I am pretty sure that the original purpose of the building is still what it is being used for now. So in that case no, I don't think it was ever a seminary.

I will take a look and see if I your suspicions are on the mark.

Leto 11-10-2007 04:37 AM

is it a hotel then?

Sticky 11-10-2007 06:11 PM

Nope, a school.

I looked it up, it was originaly also used as a school by Jesuits.
Does that make it a seminary?

It is a school now though.

Leto 11-12-2007 05:59 AM

Is it in Montreal?

Sticky 11-12-2007 06:59 AM

It is on Montreal

Leto 11-12-2007 06:38 PM

Loyola Campus of Concordia University in Montreal. It's the administration building?

this one was hard. I met my wife while at concordia for an afternoon football game. I never saw this building.

Leto 11-13-2007 01:31 PM

I'm fairly confident that I nailed this, so i will post a pic, keeping in the same vein:

Sticky 11-14-2007 08:06 AM

Leto, you were correct.

Leto 11-14-2007 08:14 PM

so, any ideas?

Sticky 11-15-2007 06:53 AM

Nope, not yet.

Leto 11-15-2007 10:58 AM

Hint: It's also a university.

Sticky 11-16-2007 06:25 AM

Is it in BC?

Leto 11-16-2007 06:33 PM

No, it is farther east than BC.
