OK, we're two days + from the last question. Jimk, what's the answer?
Here's a new question: What musician has played both with Frank Zappa's and Robert Fripp's band?

perripken is right, Adrian Belew is and/or was guitar and vocals for both King Crimson (starting in the early eighties through the present) and Frank Zappa, circa Sheik Yerbouti.
Ask away...

Sheik Yerbouti was my favorite album by Frank. Adrian did some awesome work on that album. Best song.... Bobby Brown.
Ok, here is some hometown trivia for me. I'll allow search engine usage after 6 hours from when I post this because the band was a regional band, not national. Lou Gramm, Lou Grammatica his given name, was drummer of what band before he was found to front Foreigner?

Wow, sorry folks, didn't realize this one was that difficult, especially with allowing the use of search engine's. Lou Gramm was drummer and singer for the band Black Sheep. I thank Tophat665 for the segway because Ian McDonald who was in Foreigner was also in King Crimson.
New question, same band. What band did Mick Jones play with before forming Foreigner?

Ok,Ok, maybe I'm showing my age here or you guys just aren't in this forum because the titty board ain't here any more.
The band that Mick Jones was in before Foreigner was Spooky Tooth. To adhere to my rules... here's one that everyone should get. Bob Dylan's son Jacob is the frontman for what group?

That would be "The Wallflowers"
We'll stay with the "easy" theme right now to keep this going. Who held the job of lead singer of Genesis before Phil Collins?

Last post was 12/5, so I googled it:
Mark Lannegan was in the Screaming Trees before Queens of the Stoneage. OK, here's a multi parter: Some covers have hit it really big, but few folks know there covers. With this in mind: a) (easy) Bruce Springsteen had a song on his first album that became a hit, but not for him: What was the song and who got a hit performing it? b) (little harder) Tom Waits first album had a song on it that was made into a minor hit: Again, song and band who made it a hit? c) (pretty darn hard, I think) Sublime peformed a song called "Smoke Two Joints". While thoroughly in character for them, it is, in fact, a cover. What band first performed it, and what state are they from?

ADM, Derwood. Both right.
Here's what we're left with: b) Tom Waits first album had a song on it that was made into a minor hit: Again, song and band who made it a hit? c) What state are the Toyes from?

There is a problem with multi question posts and don't feel bad because I was guilty of it myself. Now we have two different people who answered the question. Let's keep it to single questions from now on. OK?

Perripken, I agree. I must admit I hadn't thought of that, but trivia often drives logic from sight.
With that in mind, the answers: a) Blinded by the Light was butchered by Manfrred Mann's Earth Band. Derwood answered second and got all of it. b) Ol' 55 was redone by the Eagles and arguably murdered. jimk nailed that one, but got it last. c) The Toyes, from Hawaii, originally penned and performed Smoke Two Joints (props to Dr. Demento for playing that one). ADM got the Toyes, but not the state, but he answered first. Sorry for the confusion. I appeal to perripken as Thread Master to name the next questioner.

I would have to say that since Derwood chimed in first, he should be the one to ask.... sorry Jimk. By the way, I personally liked the Eagle's rendition of Ol' 55, but that's why we live in a free society, correct?

Well, I cheated and verified it myself, so here is the next question.
The 80's band Asia was a "supergroup" that pulled its members from other groups. Who were they and where did they come from. [edit:] The members changed slightly during time, I'm looking for the original lineup.

The biggest reason I remember that concert was that I took a girl to it that I had always fantasized about in High School. She had big hoots, and I got to unveil them that night! Thinking of next question........

Here goes... I'll stick with an Asia offshoot. When Steve Howe left Asia, he formed a new band with Steve Hackett from Genesis.
What was the name of that band.

Well, since no one else is going to take a shot, I'll answer with GTR. I was a big ASIA and Yes fan myself back in the day.
Since we're on the subject of merged groups, When Powerstation formed, they never really intended it to be anything more than a studio project. The album became powerful and there was pressure to tour. Robert Palmer, however was already in the studio, so they got someone else to sing on the tour. Who was he?

Hey G.O.T., i heard somewhere that it was because Andy Taylor and Robert Palmer had a falling out, so Robert left the band. Could be nothing more than media dirt, though.

At least you saw ASIA, I'm jealous about that.
Looks like it might be hint time. He ex-wife is famous for her tell-all book about being a groupie.

Well, looks like I had a stumper.
Powerstation used Michael Des Barres as their lead singer for the tour. His ex-wife Pamela was the one I was talking about in the hint. Looks like I'm up again. I'll keep it easier. Who is Reginald Dwight better known as today?

I knew it, but tried to let other people answer. Then I got busy and couldn't get back to the computer. I know who Reginald is too!
