Derwood 06-18-2004 06:04 AM

stumper?

perripken 06-18-2004 07:22 AM

It's starting to look like it, Derwood. At 1:16 this afternoon, it'll be 24 hours. I have no clue, is it in the album liner? I have the vinyl, but I'd have to dig it out. great question!

Derwood 06-18-2004 08:43 AM

Just let me know when you want me to reveal the answer.

Here's a hint: When they played these songs live prior to recording the album, they went by the names I'm looking for.

Derwood 06-18-2004 10:57 AM

Ok, it's been 24 hours.

"Dogs" was originally titled "You've Got to be Crazy", and "Sheep" was originally titled "Raving and Drooling"

And you call yourselves classic rock fans!

Ok, new question:

In the early 90's, Roger Waters staged a live performance of "The Wall" in Germany. Who sang "Hey You" at that concert?

Booray 06-18-2004 11:41 AM

For some reason, my first instinct is Peter Gabriel, so I'll guess that, but I'm thinking it's actually someone else.

As far as the Animals question, I remembered reading in "Saucerful of Secrets" that Dogs and Sheep had different names, but couldn't remember them.

perripken 06-18-2004 11:49 AM

I'm going to take a wild guess and say Bob Geldof, since he played Pink in the movie.

pan6467 06-18-2004 12:08 PM

That would be Mike Rutherford's lead singer from Mike and the Mechanics, the great and heavily unknown Paul Carrack.

He also did work on Waters' Radio K.A.O.S.

He was also the frontman for Squeeze. That's him singing the song "Tempted" Great tune!
Do we have a new question, or are you uncertain and waiting for confirmation?

Derwood 06-18-2004 02:03 PM

that's the right answer. Ask away!

perripken 06-19-2004 09:13 AM

Is there a Pan6467 in da house?

pan6467 06-19-2004 04:43 PM

Sorry, yes there is and I have an easy one.

Who was the drummer of the Beatles before Ringo?

Sion 06-20-2004 07:52 AM

yes, that is an easy one: Pete Best

next question: "Ride my seesaw" is a song from what band?

KWSN 06-20-2004 01:58 PM

ohhhhhhhhhh shit that sounds familiar..... but i cant quite remember

pan6467 06-20-2004 08:20 PM

Tis the Moody Blues that sang that song.

Case I'm right.......

What band did Denny Laine play for a big role in after the Moody Blues?

perripken 06-20-2004 08:24 PM

Moody Blues,

next:
What was producer and Traveling Wilbury's Jeff Lynne originally known for.

Sion 06-20-2004 08:30 PM

Im gonna answer perripkens question and leave pan6467's as current, since he got mine correct first: a band called ELO (the Electric Light Orchestra - great band btw)

pan6467 06-20-2004 08:30 PM

ELO?

perripken 06-20-2004 11:32 PM

Pan's question is still on the board. Sorry, I must've been typing moody blues while he was answering it. He definately beat me to the punch. I have no idea on the Denny Laine question without googling.

pan6467 06-21-2004 07:43 AM

Think of a band on the run.

ultra_agent9 06-21-2004 08:32 AM

Paul McCartney and Wings? I just jumped into this quiz now...

pan6467 06-21-2004 09:04 AM

You have the floor Ultra.

Yes, Denny Laine's biggest move after quitting Moody Blues was being McCartney's hired hand during the Wings period.

ultra_agent9 06-21-2004 09:10 AM

Ok, what lead singer of a certain band famously said at a press conference announcing a reunion tour:

"We don't see eye to eye, but we have a common interest: your money."

pan6467 06-21-2004 10:24 AM

Not to hijack or be a thread hog and I truly hope I am wrong for those purposes but that sounds like a Sammy Hagar quote for Van Halen.

KWSN 06-21-2004 11:37 AM

That actually sounds more like David Lee Roth for Van Halen... i think

pan6467 06-21-2004 02:54 PM

No DLR would say something like, "It's been a few years but Eddie and Alex came to realize they need the Diamond Dave."

That was Johnny Rotten, commenting on the Sex Pistols reunion.

perripken 06-21-2004 06:34 PM

Ultra, do we have confirmation on the answer?
Pan, you are a thread hog! Just kidding bro, keep up the good work!

ultra_agent9 06-21-2004 06:48 PM

That's it you got it illinoiz, your go!

illinoiz 06-22-2004 12:26 AM

Which British band included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page as lead guitarists during its time? (they didn't play in the band at the same time, but they all played in this band at one time or anogher...)

TheClarkster 06-22-2004 01:12 AM

I do believe that that would be the Yardbirds.

Derwood 06-22-2004 05:43 AM

Yardbirds is definitely correct. No need for confirmation. Ask away

illinoiz 06-22-2004 10:07 AM

Yeah, it is the Yardbirds...

TheClarkster 06-22-2004 03:46 PM

Alrighty, umm, what Wu Tang song did Mindless Self Indulgence cover?

KWSN 06-23-2004 12:21 PM

C.R.E.A.M.?

TheClarkster 06-23-2004 10:04 PM

Eh, it was Bring the Pain. I figured nobody might get it.
Since I have no good trivia questions I'll hand it off by use of an easy question:
Who is the singer for Led Zeppelin?

perripken 06-23-2004 10:27 PM

ummmm.....Barry Manilow?

heh heh heh!

God of Thunder 06-24-2004 03:17 AM

I'll jump in, because I thought of one the other day. Should be easy for some of the "old timers"

What band was the real voice behind "Eddie & the Cruisers"?

Sion 06-24-2004 08:28 AM

Oh nuts. I know this...cant seem to dredge it out of the old memory banks. Sawyer Brown?

God of Thunder 06-24-2004 08:36 AM

You're close...oh so close.
