so... is there a new question?
|
Im gonna jump in with one, if no one has any objections...
No? Ok, here goes: The lyrics to what song from Led Zeppelin describes an episode in which John Paul Jones inadvertantly picked up a drag queen? |
hate to shoot your question down so early but the answer is Royal Orleans
and because I know it's right, I'll go with my own... Fill in the blank at the end of this sentence: If you were in a hardcore or punk band in the New York City area during the '90s, chances are you or a band you knew recorded a demo with producer ___________ |
Looks like another stumper.
Ask another KWSN. |
The answer is legendary producer of every NYHC/Alt metal band in thge 90's you can think of, Don Fury.
Whose nickname is "Metal Moses" and why? |
Looks like we need a hint.
|
Hint: It's the lead singer of the band whose most recent album was "The Impossibility of Reason"
The nickname has something to do with the band's stage show. |
Alice Cooper??
|
Quote:
The band = Chimaira The singer = Mark Hunter The term "metal moses" = This came from their live shows. He likes to seperate the crowd down the middle, wait for it........ wait for it...... almost......... (bass drop) - CHARGE! Total Chaos! Although, that title should goto Max hands down! Just let my Soul Fly |
This was technically a stumper. It's up to KWSN if he wants iamtheone to ask the next one.

I think he means that 24 hours had already passed from the time he asked the question when you answered.
I say ask away to keep this moving. |
OK, Here is an easy one:
Who was the original lead singer for the Jeff Beck Group? |
If I am not mistaken, it was Rod Stewart.

Cool.
What video was named "Video of the Year" in 1988 by MTV despite the fact they initially refused to air it? |
A guess:
Madonna - Like a Prayer? |
Coincidentally I was just listening to a cover of that song.
|
I assumed that one was going to be a top guess, but no, it was not Madonna.
|
hm....... well it was 1986 so it couldn't be I Want Your Sex by George Michael...
I'm drawing a blank right now.... i'll come back later |
I know I've heard this one before, but am drawing blanks other than my initial guess.
|
I've got it GOT, however, I'm not going to be around the computer until tomorrow to answer. Damn it! If the answer is still on the board when I get to work tomorrow, I'll be in!
By the way, great question- love this talent! |
NWA??
|
Not rap either.
Hint time: This video was not banned for sex or violence or even lyrics. The objectional part of the video was the amount of advertising it did. The video was pretty much a parody for the over-commercialization of the times. Even though the video was a parody, the song was not. So, it was not Weird Al. After it won the award, MTV finally caved and started playing it. |
This Note's for You, Neil Young?
|
You got it Sion.
|
I beg to differ, I think it was "Need you tonight" INXS.
|
I Googled the stuff earlier and "Need You Tonight" was the video of the year of '88 and "This Note's For You" was the one for '89 (and was the one that MTV didn't want to play).
"This Note's For You" lyrics for the curious Don't want no cash Don't need no money Ain't got no stash This note's for you. Ain't singin' for Pepsi Ain't singin' for Coke I don't sing for nobody Makes me look like a joke This note's for you. Ain't singin' for Miller Don't sing for Bud I won't sing for politicians Ain't singin' for Spuds This note's for you. Don't need no cash Don't want no money Ain't got no stash This note's for you. I've got the real thing I got the real thing, baby I got the real thing Yeah, alright. |

I've cried a river, I've built a bridge, and now I'm over it!
Your question Sion. |
cool, I thought I had a pretty good guess there.
next Q: name the band that appeared in part 3 of a certain sci-fi movie trilogy, as the musicians at a hoe-down/square dance in the old west (1880's). bonus points if you can name the song they wrote especially for that movie. |
I'm pretty sure I remember ZZTop doing a song for Back to the Future 3 but didn't remember them being in the movie, but I'll guess that anyways.
Can't remember the song they did for the movie. |
Just checked IMDB.com and saw I was right. I saw what the song was called too, but figured I'd let someone else guess it.
Couldn't really think of anything good, but here's a new question (might be too easy): What band made a cameo in the final Dirty Harry movie sequel? |
I wanna say Guns'n'Roses, but am not certain. didnt they have a song on the soundtrack?
|
Guns N Roses it is (The Dead Pool also co-starred a young Jim Carrey as a rockstar). They used Welcome to the Jungle on the soundtrack. Your go Sion
|
cool, Sion guesses correctly again.
next: name the drummer who recorded with Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep. |
Damn, there's a lot of people it could be. Not Vinny Appice, Bill Ward, or Cozy Powell, I presume.
|
so far as I know, there was only one who recorded with all three.
|
My guess would have been Vinny Appice too.
|
keep guessing
