Wasn't that Lee Kerslake?

KWSN 05-16-2004 04:58 PM

OK, I didn't use Google, but I did use AMG...... i hope that doesn't count as cheating. This would have been a stumper had I not.

The answer is Lee Kerslake

Don't know if you were just being sarcastic, but, in my opinion, using AMG is really the same thing as using Google. It's still looking the answer up. When I don't know an answer but just want to go find out what the answer is so I don't have to wait for someone to guess it correctly, I go to AMG. I found Kerslake as the answer earlier today too at AMG but didn't post it because just using AMG and looking at the people who have played drums for Uriah Heep and seeing who played with Ozzy and Sabbath as well is basically cheating, which makes the game boring because anyone can just go look something up on the internet.

Oh, well in that case, i guess Sion deserves another go.

EDIT: WAIT, iamtheone added the answer a minute before my post.

Well, if he didnt look it up, it's his go.

Sion 05-16-2004 07:01 PM

iamtheone is indeed correct and deserves the next question.

God of Thunder 05-16-2004 07:15 PM

Looking up the answer anywhere is cheating.

I know we can all do it very easily and no one would know about it, but lets play like gentlemen (and ladies) and show some honor. It takes the fun out of this if we are going to resort to cheating.

KWSN 05-16-2004 07:32 PM

Sorry guys.

Next time if I resort to AMG and find the answer, I'll indicate that I've found it but not say it.

Again, major apologies.

I would like to interject the words "on the internet" into that statement. As some of you may remember, a while back there was a question that I knew I could answer if I pulled the album out of my closet and looked at the credits. I asked if that would be considered cheating and was told no.

iamtheone 05-17-2004 03:11 AM

ok. I will go. (another easy one)

What band was originally called Majesty?

(80's, 90's)

That is what I meant. I see now that it should have been included in my statement. I too, have been known to pull out old albums and such to verify answers.

perripken 05-17-2004 12:22 PM

Man..... I wish I had been here for the Lee Kerslake question, I'm a huge Uriah Heep fan! BTW....as the threads originator, and as the one who empowered the almighty God of Thunder.... I also agree that looking up any info on albums or CD's is not cheating.
Googling or any other form of internet search (just because it's too damn easy) is cheating.
As for Majesty, no clue

That would be Dream Theater. I heart them so much.

That would be correct! (told ya it was easy)

perripken 05-18-2004 06:20 AM

we need a new question sparafucile

Booray 05-19-2004 04:49 AM

I'll go ahead and ask another one.

What guitarist did Steve Miller get his first guitar as a gift from and was taught his first chords at the age of 5 by?

Sion 05-19-2004 07:33 AM

wild guess: Chet Atkins

perripken 05-19-2004 08:21 AM

cool question Booray, I had to look so I'm disqualified.

iamtheone 05-19-2004 08:59 AM

easy one: Les Paul....

iamtheone 05-19-2004 09:00 AM

Gibson has introduced how many different Les Paul models since they were first introduced in 1952?

God of Thunder 05-19-2004 10:14 AM

The only ones I know of is the standard model and the Gold Top custom. But I also know that Ace Frehley also desgned one.

So, basically I'm just gonna take a wild-assed guess and say....12.

iamtheone 05-19-2004 11:18 AM

That would be incorrect Sir.

God of Thunder 05-19-2004 11:24 AM

Feh.

Well, I tried.

Booray 05-19-2004 12:23 PM

Can we get a higher or lower hint? I'll guess 15

perripken 05-19-2004 01:25 PM

Another guess, 6

GuttersnipeXL 05-19-2004 01:56 PM

Isn't that question more of a musical instrument trivia question? At any rate I'll guess 22

If the majority feels that this does not relate I can pass my turn...

I will anyway, the answer was 40.

carry'on fellas

God of Thunder 05-19-2004 04:51 PM

I see nothing wrong with the question. It is music-related.

Looks like it was going to be a stumper anyway.

Let me try one since it has been declared open.

The Buggles are famous for having the first video played on MTV.

What artist had the second video?

Booray 05-19-2004 05:15 PM

shit, I think I've heard this one before...don't know, but gotta guess something

The Cars

iamtheone 05-19-2004 05:22 PM

Guess.. (and probably a very bad one) Cindy Lauper? - (this damn video is all i remember seeing back in the day)

KWSN 05-19-2004 05:27 PM

Billy Squire?

perripken 05-19-2004 09:09 PM

I agree with my cohort GOT, the question was about arguably the greatest guitar in history.... that's music my friends!
I'm gonna guess Billy Idol.

Sion 05-19-2004 10:37 PM

I've heard this one before too, but unfortunately cant remember the answer, so Im guessing Michael Jackson.

God of Thunder 05-20-2004 04:12 AM

Lets see.. I'll answer these in order

Nope
Nope
Nope
Nope and
No Soup for you

It was a female artist.

iamtheone 05-20-2004 05:35 AM

Madonna? Has to be it damn it....

trying to think..... who the hell else did they play to death.....

iamtheone 05-20-2004 05:37 AM

ok, I cheated. I wouldn't of guessed this person/band however.

God of Thunder 05-20-2004 06:19 AM

Wasn't someone that was really played to death. I remember the video, but don't recall it being really over-played.

But, as iamtheone pointed out, it wasn't Madonna.

Remember, this was 1981. (collective sound of all of the youngblood saying "How the hell should I know? I wasn't even born yet!!")

iamtheone 05-20-2004 06:28 AM

I was 10....

perripken 05-20-2004 06:40 AM

I have two female guesses, I'll start with Cindi Lauper

God of Thunder 05-20-2004 07:20 AM

Go with the other then, because iamtheone already guessed Cyndi and was shot down.

I'll give a pretty good hint later, right now it's fun to watch everyone guess.

Side note: Only the artist is needed to provide a correct answer, but I really would like to know the name of the song too. Hint: It's not the one she's really famous for during that era. That song was the next one released.

Sion 05-20-2004 08:06 AM

Pat Benatar?

and if thats right, Im guessing "Hell is for children" as the song
