You're right, but the song was "You Better Run"

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" was her next single/video released.

Side note: I saw Pat in concert last summer and DAMN is she still cute  Time has been very kind to her.

Your go Sion.

perripken 05-20-2004 09:17 AM

Aw man... that was my next guess. Another guess could've been Blondie.

Sion 05-20-2004 08:50 PM

heh, cool. Sion's guesses have been very good of late, eh?

anyway, here's an easy one:

everyone knows that Steven Van Zandt plays Silvio Dante on The Sopranos, and most know that he is a member of Springsteen's E Street Band. what is the name of his solo project?

God of Thunder 05-21-2004 05:34 AM

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul

To carry on the guitar-related trivia, (yes it is a valid line of questioning) how did B.B King's guitar get it's name?

iamtheone 05-21-2004 06:50 AM

Lucille got her name from a fight at a club I think? Guys were fighting over a woman called Lucille.

God of Thunder 05-21-2004 07:10 AM

Yup.

The way B.B. tels it is that two guys were fighting over her, somehow a fire got started and everyone evacuated. He realized once he got outside he had left his guitar, so he ran back in to get it.

He named the guitar after the woman they were fighting over to remind himself not to ever do anything that stupid again.

iamtheone 05-21-2004 11:30 AM

In your honor:

Where did KISS break a BEATLES attendance record?

KWSN 05-21-2004 07:46 PM

Hm, not sure. Has to be a big venue... maybe something in England. Is it the alltime attendance record or the record for the venue?

I'd like to say Leeds but I'm not sure.

Sion 05-21-2004 08:42 PM

im gonna guess Madison Square Garden

perripken 05-22-2004 07:00 AM

Where oh where is the God of Thunder? This one should be right up his alley!

God of Thunder 05-22-2004 08:00 AM

Ahhh, took a night off.

Actually I think you're thinking of Shea Stadium and it was Grand Funk Railroad that did it.

If not, then you stumped me.

Booray 05-22-2004 10:56 AM

Don't know if GoT is right, but will just throw out another guess. Candlestick Park

iamtheone 05-22-2004 01:11 PM

Nope. =all the above

(hint-Not in the US)

Or, if you would rather have me reveal that is fine. Your call fella's.

Sion 05-22-2004 02:54 PM

The Budokan in Japan?

if not, how about at least giving us what continent its on?

Your up yo. Good job.

Sion 05-22-2004 10:21 PM

why is it that I always guess correctly when I dont have a good question ready?

ok, how about this:

what Academy award-winning funk/soul icon appeared in John Carpenter's "Escape from New York"?

Booray 05-23-2004 04:49 AM

I'm trying to remember. I'm thinking someone performed at some point in the movie for the "bad element" crowd in New York, but not sure. I'll guess James Brown.
**going to check my guess on IMDB.com so I guess I won't have any follow up guesses**

Booray 05-23-2004 04:51 AM

crap....just saw the answer. completely forgot he was in this.

KWSN 05-23-2004 05:53 AM

George Clinton maybe?

Sion 05-23-2004 06:46 AM

keep guessing

That makes sense since KISS is bigger in Japan than they are here.

GuttersnipeXL 05-23-2004 03:16 PM

Hmmm, Ronnie Isley maybe?

Sion 05-23-2004 03:19 PM

hint: not GRAMMY winner, but ACADEMY AWARD winner. Id tell you the movie, but that would be a dead giveaway. I can tell you it was a 70's movie about a cop.

KWSN 05-23-2004 05:19 PM

A 70's movie, conspicuous, about a cop? There could be only one...

JOHN SHAFT!!!

Isaac Hayes MUST be the answer.

I would have to agree.

pan6467 05-23-2004 09:33 PM

Aw fudge, I was gonna say Ernest Borgnine, as the Escape From NY was the clue I needed. Sheesh.

well done grasshopper. you may go now.

Booray 05-24-2004 03:59 PM

doh! I think if I had noticed the "Academy Award" winning part of the initial clue, I would've gotten that one.

KWSN 05-24-2004 06:08 PM

OK, here goes

On "Chapelle's Show," you may have seen the parody Dave did or R. Kelly with the "Pee on You" video. This is because, apparently, R. Kelly pisses on a girl in his infamous sex tape. At the end of the parody video, they have a fake information graphic come up, like the ones in the bottom left corner of videos on MTV. The general format is like this for those who don't get it by my description

Song Title
Artist
Album
Record Label
Director

As the director, Dave lists, as a joke, another famous artist with an infamous video involving pissing. This is discussed in the commentary for said episode on the DVD. Name the artist listed as the director.

GuttersnipeXL 05-24-2004 06:19 PM

Chuck Berry?

KWSN 05-24-2004 06:25 PM

Well that one lasted only 11 minutes. Damn.

By the way, in the commentary on the DVD, the show's main writer (aside to Chapelle) describes the Chuck Berry's House Party video as the most hilarious thing he's ever seen.

Your go then, Guttersnipe.

GuttersnipeXL 05-24-2004 06:45 PM

Wow...I pulled that out of my ass... I heard that ol' Johnny B. Goode himself was into golden showers along time ago....weird.

Let's see here, a nice Zappa question for ya's...Out of his four children, which one appeared on his "Ship Arriving Too Late, To Save a Drowning Witch" album, singing about a certain group of Californians? Gimme the name of his kid and name of the song.

pan6467 05-24-2004 07:35 PM

Moon Unit with the great hit "Valley Girl"........ Like omigod

yes indeed, a GREAT song. not so much for the val-speak but for the thunderous bass-line that rumbles all through it.

pan6467 05-24-2004 09:11 PM

Hmmmmm .......... must dig deep into the bowels of Hell for this one.......

Ray Davies before starting the KINKS worked in London for the Dave Hunt Band. After awhile he and the lead singer left to form a band called "THE BLUES MESSENGERS" it featured an extremely famous drummer who would eventually be a part of/founding member of a HUGE band....

Who is that drummer?

This should be a stumper.

iamtheone 05-25-2004 06:01 AM

Neil Pert =bad guess.

Neil was not a founding member of Rush, so I doubt it as well.

My bad guess=Mic Fleetwood

pan6467 05-25-2004 07:01 AM

DAMN YOU GOD.........lol

Yes it was the one and only Mick Fleetwood.

Thought I had people on this. Thought for sure someone would say Phil Collins

Jadedfox 05-25-2004 07:09 AM

lol, guess you didn't dig deep enough in the ol' bowels :D

--jaded

God of Thunder 05-25-2004 09:40 AM

Nah, just did some analysing.

Tried to deduce what artists might have been kicking around the same time Davies was forming a band. I also knew that Mick was a founding member and therefore took a pretty good guess. Honestly Phil Collins didn't even enter my mind.

It was either Mick or Ginger Baker, I chose Mick.

Then again...sometime I over-think things.

Let's switch gears to country music.

Where did Sawyer Brown get their first big break?
