not too big a fan of sheryl crow or rod stewart myself but i like cat stevens.... though not necessarily that particular song
anyway, for a new question... A certain MORON when covering a classic rock song recently, failed to spell the writer of the song's name correctly in the liner notes for the album the cover was released on. Name the MORON, the song, and the original writer of the song (HINT: The song was on an album that was almost called "Panty Sniffer" but had its name changed to "Bipolar" and then finally to "Results May Vary") |
just taking a guess here, but I'll say the moron was Limp Bizcit's resident idjit Fred Dursht [sic], which would make the song "Behind Blue Eyes" by Pete Townshend. Lemme guess, he spelled it without the h, right?
|
bingo, Sion. Your go.
|
HA! finally I get to use one of the great questions Ive been sitting on.
What is the most covered song in pop music history? |
"Yesterday" by the Beatles?
|
yes Derwood.
damn that was too quick. |
damn, I knew that one. Can't remember where I heard that before.
|
We need a question Derwood
|
IS THERE A DERWOOD IN THE HOUSE!???????
|
since its been over 24 hours since derwoods correctly answered my question without posting a new one, Im gonna jump in with another (in his stead), just to keep things moving. should it prove to be a stumper, rights to the next question should revert to Derwood.
The cover of Blind Faith's only album (click link below) featured a topless image of whose 11 year old daughter? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bean95/...ges/22432f.jpg |
The only story I remember about that photo was that they convinced her to pose for the picture by promising to buy her a horse.
I don't remember whose daughter she was. I'm going to guess Ginger Baker's. |
correct GoT.
|
Cool, I've been pretty lucky on the guesses lately.
Lets see......reaches don into the "Bag O' Trivia" and pulls out... Who wrote Patsy Cline's famous hit "Crazy"? |
Mr. Willie Nelson I do believe.
|
I checked out my answer on Google, and I'm correct.
New question: What album did Ronnie Montrose help out on before starting his band Montrose with Sammy Hagar? |

It could be one of many. Is it Van Morrisson's Tupelo Honey in question?
|
No, actually he did guest appearance on Tupelo Honey and St. Domic's Preview. However, I'm talking an album right before the Montrose album. It wasn't a Van Morrison album, and it wasn't a guest appearance. He actually joined this group.
|
In that case... got me.
|
It's either Herbie Hancock or Edgar Winter. Neither very big but 2 interesting artists.
Love those underrated groups. |
Sorry for going AWOL guys. I totally forgot that I even answered that question :(
|
You're correct with Edgar Winter Group Pan 6467. That's Ronnie playing the awesome leads on Frankenstein. You're question!
|
Before Billy Joel went solo what 2 bands was he in?
Both recorded and 1 was in the (very late 60's very early 70's) a huge underground band in NYC. |
Well Pan6467,looks like a stumper. I'd be interested to know the answers-
|
The hot LI band was called the Hassles, and actually had a decent selling album but broke up before they hit it big. Joel and drummer Jon Small left and formed a very metal band called Atilla. They made an album where Joel and Small dressed as huns on the cover, it was a horrid album in sales and production. But the reason Atilla broke up was Joel ended up having an affair with Small's wife, who became Joel's first wife.
Jon Small later worked with Joel as road manager, production coordinator and so on. Ok...... 1 more Billy Joel question. before Turnstyles Joel used pretty much session players and didn't have a true band. Who was the first true permanent band member? (This band member pretty much brought in the rest by his advice and recommendations to Billy.) |
I'd love to say Phil Ramone but I know that can't be right...
|
Phil Ramone was Blly's producer for a long time, but I think the first real band member was Liberty DeVito, his drummer.
|
Bingo GOT................ Libert Devito was the man who brought in probably Billy's best version of his band, Doug Stegmeyer, Ritchie Canata, Russell Javors, and the David Brown . Ramone I think didn't produce for Billy until the Stranger.
A lot of people give Ramone the credit for Joel's rise but in my opinion he had one of the greatest bands assembled during his high years (1976 Turnstyles-1986 The Bridge)and Liberty is a tremendously underrated drummer. Your question GOT |

/spins the "Wheel O' Trivia" Allright, here's an easy one. Hands on buzzers. Lets see who can answer first. Who sang back up on Dire Straits' hit "Money for Nothing"? (I've been watching the Game Show Network too much) |
Sting, correct?
|
Somehow I figured you would be first to buzz in.
Yes it was Sting singing the "I Want My MTV" in the background. |
Ok, I haven't had a stumper for a while (there are some real music officianado's in here)(did I spell that right?) I'm going to try a tough one.
Ron Dante was the producer of such stars as Cher, Barry Mannilo, and early Pat Benetar. What else was he known for.] Try not to Google kids! |

Sorry, had to bust your chops :D And yes I know the answer, but I want to see if anyone else can pull it out of their ass. Come to think of it that is a pretty sweet question ;) |
