Robert Zimmerman

SinisterMotives, we need a new question.
Since I'm back, I'll jump in.
Even though Brian Wilson wrote the song Surfin' U.S.A., it is officially credited to someone else. Who got the credit and why? |
it's credited to the one and only Chuck Berry because the hook was taken straight out of Johnny B. Goode.
Close, Brian lifted it from Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen"
If you listen to them at the same time, they're the same song with different words. Just like Nickleback  Your go. |
Welcome back Thunder!
Good to be back!!!
I kinda missed this place while I was gone, then I went fishing. |
damn sorry for being so late, i kind of slept all day.
next question: Flava Flav appeared relatively recently in what long island group's video? HINT: most people would consider the genre Emo. |
It appears you have a stumper KWSN.
The answer was Taking Back Sunday. What Flava Flav was doing in that video was anyone's guess.
Another PE question: What Public Enemy member was, at one point, kicked out of the group for comments in the Washington Post that were considered by many to be anti-Semetic? |
I'm going with Terminator X
Not quite.
Hint: His role in the band was "Minister of Information" and his solo works were listed under the name of _______ _______ and the Last Asiatic Disciple (_______ ________ being his name). |
Professor Griff?

Your go. |

Sorry for swaying away from the thread, but I had to let you know! |
Alllllright.
What band created the LP called Facelift? |
Alice in Chains
Correct.
we need a new question braindamage351
Ok, I guess I'll get this thing going again since Braindamage351 is in limbo.
Who is Michael Balzery? |
Flea
you are correct gboz
Ok, here's one: music-lovers that claim Joe Perry of Aerosmith is a guitar god often point to the solos in Train Kept-a-Rollin as an example. Who actually played those solos and several more on that album?
uh, Brad Whitford?
Man.... I have seen Aerosmith a gazillion times and every time I've seen them, Joe plays the leads on "Train..." I'd be interested to know how true this is!
BTW, I'm not downplaying Brad Whitford's playing, he is a great player in his own right. As a matter of fact, he does do his share of leads on all the albums!
Nope, not Brad Whitford. A couple of guys you probably know from other bands they played in.
This came out in a magazine interview (I think Guitar Player) probably 7 or 8 years ago much to the chagrin of Joe Perry & Aerosmith. It had been a rumor for a long time then when the artists were finally asked directly they spilled it. A good friend of mine, Ty Tabor (Kings X) showed me the article. He claimed he was suspicious all along because of the distinctly different style and tone on some of those songs. More hints?
Tap, tap, tap. Is this thing on?
Stumped? New question? Nobody gives a crap? |
not a clue here.
I'm stumped too
ok, this is way past being a stumper. Time for an answer.
George Thorogood?
Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner.
They are probably most noted for their stint with Alice Cooper but they have a huge catalog of work. My favorite thing they did was the intro to Sweet Jane on Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal. Here's a quote: I’ve heard a lot about the Aerosmith experience too - you played on “Train Kept a Rollin,” right? "I was living in New York and I got a call to come into the studio to play some guitar on Aerosmith. I went over and played on three or four tracks. Steve Hunter came over also. We both played on that song beecause Joe Perry…I don’t know why - I guess we were better guitar players at the time - Joe is really good. We were basically studio players for hire. That was their breakout album: Get Your Wings. We didn’t get credit on that album either. Later on, it got out." From: http://web.archive.org/web/200306040...ssageboard.htm I'll have another question in a few minutes. |
Who was Steve Vai's now-famous guitar teacher at a music store in San Francisco?
None other than Joe Satriani.
Satriani?
Correct. Looks like KWSN got it first.
Woot.
Next question is sort of stupid... but here goes. Who does the backup part on the song "Informer" by Snow? (you may remember this song as the faux-jamaican rap song from the early 1990s sung by a white canadian guy). |
