Making Lamb Stew, recipe from Spring Lamb Stew Recipe | Simply Recipes

A whole wheat bagel thin, toasted, with natural ground peanut butter, tupelo honey and a banana sliced on it. And a coke zero. 'Cause that's how I roll... and someone didn't leave me any coffee.

A tartine made with ciabatta, herbed chevre, sliced tomato, and Persian cress. Mm, mm, mm.

I just made me a nice steak, and some scallops.

BadNick 05-04-2010 06:30 PM

as I'm typing this it is almost all gone already. I bought a pint of Wawa brand vanilla ice cream, which is a creamy, almost light tasting vanilla, not too sweet, just what I had a taste for. Then I threw some dried pineapple and craisins on it. Will do again soon!

A while back I posted these tasty treats here somewhere when I first tasted the ones that are very slightly sweet and a touch of anise flavor. But I just had a different variety today so I'm posting this one, too, since they are so amazing I'm simply amazed. Great with a cup of coffee, or a light snack; depending on which "flavor" you choose it can be slightly sweet or herby or just plain with a faint touch of sea salt. The non-sweet ones go great with a glass of wine; hell, I bet the sweet ones would go great with a glass of muscat.

These are the Ines Rosales tortas, and the one I had today was rosemary and thyme. La Torta de Aceite hecha con aceite de oliva virgen extra. Dulces, cortadillos, reposteria, torta de polvorón, torta de almendra

Had a KFC Double Down a few hours ago. Still alive. Would've much rather spent the $5 on random value menu items to create my own monstrosity.

I just squished a burst of saliva through two of my left top molars and out popped a sesame seed so I chewed it up this time ...tasted pretty damn good.

Bay Scallops fried in butter, add a little garlic & shallot at the end.
Thin spaghetti, momentarily pan fried in olive oil.
Combine pasta & seafood, top with grated parm & myzithra.

I eat lots of scallops lately, man they taste good!!!

I tried that little Indian restaurant near here again. The one I mentioned previously in this thread, the place called Saffron in Bala Cynwyd.

Btw, I was happy to find out that saffron is a spice derived stigma of the flower of the saffron crocus (Crocus sativus). Not only do I absolutely love crocuses, but anything with sativus in the name is OK with me.

So this time I had:

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...d/DSCN1895.jpg

which in mere words would be:

appetizers:
garlic naan: leavened bread with garlic and cilantro
Peshawari naan: leavened bread stuffed with cashew, raisins, and topped with dry coconut
malai kofta: cheese and vegetable croquettes cooked in a light vegetable sauce
baigan bharta: whole egg plant smoked over charcoal and seasoned with herbs and spices

entres:
lamb korma: boneless pieces of lamb cooked in a rich almond and cream sauce
fish curry: haddock (what do you take for a haddock?) fillet with curry leaves, cumin powder, dry chilies cooked in the chef's special sauce (good goin' chef!)

The white wine was also pretty good. It was a bottle of Foley Sta. Rita Hills chardonnay 2007, Rancho Santa Rosa, which made me sort of miss rancho cucamonga but what the hell, at least I'm eating well.

The aftermath:

nothing but a bay leaf and a hunk of cinnamon bark

Plus if you look close, you can see the additional protrusion where the arrow is pointing so tomorrow it's back to the gym

I had seared mahi, a chilled three-bean salad with vinaigrette, celery, onion, kidney, garbanzo and pinto beans, and grilled tomatoes. With a perroni.

The Hubby, our two boys and I just finished sharing one 1" thick porterhouse cooked on the grill with some grilled whole portobellos and my secret steak sauce, fresh corn on the cob, salad, and naan bread. We actually cooked two steaks but the first one fed all four of us, it was huge! So I guess we will be having steak sammies on ciabatta for lunch tomorrow. :)

1.18 oz NY Strip, rubbed with toasted sesame oil, kosher salt, garlic and crushed black pepper... grilled 4 minutes on each side over natural wood charcoal started with a charcoal chimney (no lighter fluid), then topped with 2 pats of butter to sear for 2 minutes on each side.

grilled asparagus with kosher salt and crushed black pepper, with a small amount of butter to sear the grill flavor in, topped with fresh grated parmesan cheese

broccoli steamed in a foil packet with green onions, black pepper and kosher salt, also topped with a little fresh grated parm.

S also had half a twice-baked potato from Fresh Market which I stripped of cheese and topped with sharp cheddar, garlic, crushed pepper and a little oregano.
And a slice of coconut cream pie from Village Inn because he had a craving.

Tell me again women can't grill a steak?

Hash browns, a boiled egg, and a fist-sized chunk of watermelon.

Just ate a whole (8.5 oz/241g) bag of Orville Redenbacher's Poppycock, Original version ..."clusters of almonds, pecans, & gourmet popcorn covered in our amazing glaze" Says "100% Natural" but so would be eating a whole bag of sugar. I had to wash my hands and face or I couldn't even type this without sticking to my keyboard. But it was worth it!
