A somewhat strange combination of leftovers were had this evening.

Some had pasta with shrimp and scallops in a sun-dried tomato sauce with fresh basil AND others split two huge but very lean grilled pork steaks (which were even better re-grilled the day after) with freshly mushed guacamole and blue tortilla chips.

shalafi 08-05-2009 05:43 PM

Just got back from our roaming bike night. We went to Dune Dog this week. Most of us went with a full rack of baby backs w/ double fries and sweet tea.

DaniGirl 08-05-2009 05:53 PM

Scooby-Doo Mac and Cheese. Yum Yum Yum

Taja 08-06-2009 05:08 PM

Seriously.... it's what and not who?

PonyPotato 08-06-2009 05:13 PM

I just had some of the vegetarian lasagne I made.

The first time I made lasagne.. and I may never make it again. Hassle. UGH.

At least it tasted good! Tofu, spinach, mushrooms, ricotta, noodles, some yummy tomato sauce. I'm awesome. :)

Plan9 08-06-2009 05:39 PM

Chunky peanut butter on bread. Tuna out of the can. Ear of corn, steamed. Pulpy orange juice. Hershey's Special Dark.

...

Last night was Indian Butter Chicken Curry, tri-color couscous, steamed green beans, and biscuits 'n peach preserves for desert.

...

I don't bother making good food for myself; it's pointless. I think the army killed my ability to really enjoy food.

Punk.of.Ages 08-06-2009 05:43 PM

The best Gyro ever.

Nice looking pizza!

I'm eating homemade falafel with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and tahini sauce.

I like lasagna. It often tastes better when its a leftover. (And the recipes usually result in a lot leftover)

purplelirpa 08-08-2009 10:28 PM

chocolate chip cookies

blahblah454 08-09-2009 05:40 PM

Breakfast: whole wheat bagel with cream cheese that I will slowly eat on my way to work.

evilbeefchan 08-10-2009 01:46 PM

Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw.

Recipe from Bakesale Betty's in Oakland, available at Betty riffs on a picnic favorite

I've never felt drunk off food before, but this sandwich makes my head spin...and I LIKE it!

CinnamonGirl 08-10-2009 01:50 PM

Wow, that is by far the most ultimate ice cream to have ever been created! There is an icecream place in Calgary that makes an amazing version of it. I will now be craving this for a long time.

LoganSnake 08-10-2009 06:58 PM

purplelirpa 08-10-2009 07:17 PM

egg sandwich. the yolk is runny and dripped all over my hand.

PonyPotato 08-10-2009 07:17 PM

Cinn: Is there any chance you can go to UDF and have some coconut almond chip ice cream for me? Please?

I haven't had that ice cream in two summers now, and it's my absolute favorite. I can't find it on the East Coast anywhere. :( :( :(

Punk.of.Ages 08-10-2009 07:18 PM

PB&J...

I'm too tired to make anything fancy.

blahblah454 08-10-2009 07:19 PM

WTF is that Logan?

Willravel 08-10-2009 07:31 PM

Spinach spaghetti in a simple tomato basil sauce with some parmesan.

blahblah454 08-10-2009 07:52 PM

Apple sauce. 99.99% apples, .01% cinnamon.

I scientifically measured it out myself, and cooked it myself.

snowy 08-10-2009 07:53 PM

My mom's clam chowder. Best in the universe.

If my Ben & Jerry's doesn't have enough chunks of whatever in it, I'll mix in creamy peanut butter and put it back in the freezer for a few hours. It freezes solid, then melts in your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue. You seriously need to try it if you love peanut butter!

It will be a sacrifice... but I will do my best.

 That sounds like a plan for this weekend. Yum!

evilbeefchan 08-11-2009 07:53 PM

Speaking of ice cream, just had some watermelon sorbet and amazing Horchata ice cream from Fosselman's!

CinnamonGirl 08-11-2009 11:00 PM

What? Xerx, I've had that. Add some pepper, and it tastes just fine. You need to lay off the bacon cheeseburgers, dude.

PP,
are there any MaggieMoo's near you? In the Phila area there are a few and they have very rich, creamy ice cream, including a coconut cream ice cream which I get with roasted almost slivers mixed in it, and it's very excellent.

For lunch today I went to a new little Mexican taco joint...seemed very authentic, and everything was very tasty and fresh...I don't usually eat this much for lunch but wanted to sample a few things; so now I have leftovers, too.

On the left are two enchiladas...nice crispy fresh wraps around one beef one chicken; on the right are three tacos, again nice fresh semi-crispy wraps one grilled chicken, one Mexican sausage, one pork skin; washed down with a Jarritos mandarina soda.

Pandacakes--pancakes shaped like pandas, with tiny ears. :)
