Okay everybody post what you are eating right effing now?! Whether it be homemade or ordered out tell us what your eating and if its yummy.

Well I made chicken stuffed with basil and garlic cooked in a cast iron skillet in the oven with sauteed mushrooms and spinach over sesame rice topped with some plain yogurt with dill and lime juice mixed in. Oh and roasted cherry tomatoes. mmmm yummy!

guyy 01-03-2009 09:24 PM

The cupboards bare, but there's beer in the fridge. I'm having one.

I don't have a digital camera, so no pics of food. They were just box brownies (I was feeling lazy) but I do want to try out a couple of brownie recipes I've come across lately, especially one that includes brown sugar in place of white.

peanuts from the shell.. BTW can anyone tell me what 'grits' are. I watched an Oprah show and they were mentioned but maybe it cos I am Australian but I have never seen them or have any idea what they are Thanx guys

im2smrt4u 01-03-2009 11:13 PM

The chicken was really, really good. Plus, we determined it cost about $8 to make both servings. Not bad.

Now, to curb late night hunger, we are eating apples. New Year's resolution to loose weight means no more late night Del Taco runs. :(

Grits are a horrid porridge from the Southern states of the USA. They are made from corn ground up. They are absolutely tasteless, gritty and yet disgustingly smooth, and for some strange reason are always served with vast amounts of animal fat, whether it be butter, gravy, or bacon. And salt.

I stir rasberry preserves into mine when I must eat them.

Loading them up with something is the only way to make them somewhat palatable.

I'm not eating anything right now but after reading the bacon thread in Nonsense, I have a feeling I'll be having bacon (turkey) for breakfast.

ryfo 01-04-2009 11:14 AM

Thanks Hrandani, I now know. I might skip that culinary experience.

snowy 01-04-2009 02:56 PM

Microwave burritos. Yum.

lostgirl 01-04-2009 03:05 PM

Edamame and veggie breakfast sausage patties.

roachboy 01-04-2009 03:48 PM

i just finished 3-peppercorn fettucini with a goat cheese cream sauce (the secret is cooking garlic in white wine and using only a little cream) with some haddock fried in cornmeal and chopped toasted pecans.

it was very nice.
the seafood in this area is ridiculously good.

I'm gnawing on some pomegranate. I figure you burn as many calories trying to get the good stuff off the seeds and them spitting them out as there are in the actual pom whatever-you-call-them.

And, my grits rock.

Maybe I should have emphasized posting pics of what your eating. More pics guys, pictures of food are always a bonus along with the description. :D I was hoping this would turn into something like the "post yourself right effing now" thread.

Tonight was another night of our trying to eat healthier for our new years resolution.

I made wheat penne pasta topped with red bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and chicken breast all cooked in a cast iron skillet in the oven. Made a sauce from chicken broth, mushrooms, pinenuts, jalepeno, and basil with green onions.

snowy 01-05-2009 06:19 PM

Spinach and portobello mushroom pizza. Tasty.

Baraka_Guru 01-07-2009 12:49 PM

snowy 01-09-2009 08:26 AM

Nature's Path Organic Heirloom Grains cereal with banana and milk. Fiber is tasty!

Starkizzer 01-10-2009 08:56 PM

We just got done eating at Wood Grill Buffet. Its new in my home town...pretty tasty but a lot of Southern style food. Not the best for the diet, but there is a huge salad bar and fresh fruit section.

inBOIL 01-10-2009 09:33 PM

Rosemary and lemon pork stew with brown rice.

CinnamonGirl 01-11-2009 12:54 AM

Star, you have such pretty plates!

And BG, I totally wanna come over to your place for dinner... or breakfast, whatever.

I'm not eating anything, right now... just drinking lotsa water. I had capellini pomodoro from the OG for dinner, though:
