On and off since it was opened in 1963 King of Prussia Mall has been the largest mall in the world, but currently it is not. I generally hate malls but the "Plaza" part is a nice stroll, moreso than the "Court" part.

I feel like I just drove for the longest time. Yesterday afternoon I drove to Erie, PA, stayed at a nice lakefront hotel, met with an important customer today, then drove home. Round trip was only 880 miles but it felt a lot longer....eerie!

Jetée 07-07-2010 07:59 PM

Was it enjoyable? What did you listen to; what did you eat? What were you there for; why did you not bring back souvenirs? How is it you are, feelings-wise? Exhausted? Hungry? Effervescent? Did I spell that right? Would you really know? Can you offer an insight as to where such a topic tentatively-titled "chicks + bikes" would best be seen and viewed upon by such kin as yourself? Do you have a horse in the NBA-media-hoopla? Have you ever ridden a horse? What's the horsepower, currently, under the hood of your Supra, BadNick?

BadNick 07-07-2010 08:37 PM

Thanks for asking, Jet.

I went with a fellow worker friend and yes, it was enjoyable. Last couple days here it's been over 100F outside so driving in a cool, air conditioned car is not so bad, especially since most of the way the scenery across northern Pennsylvania driving through the mountains is very nice. Until the battery got too low, we listened to my itouch since my car has a direct connection to feed its output through the quite good JBL stereo system I have in that car, my '07 RAV4. I need to get a cable that allows recharging the itouch in the car since I don't have one of those. Lately I've been copying every CD I own into my itouch and have about 7 gigs of music in there now. We listened to Jimmie Cliff's soundtrack album from "The Harder They Come"; Best of Van Morrison; Lead Zepplin IV; John Lee Hooker's "The Best of Friends" album; Ry Cooder's "Jazz" album; Blind Faith; Willie Nelson's "Across the Borderline"; Emmylou Harris' "Cowgirl's Prayer"; Crosby, Stills, and Nash; Easy Rider; Famous Blue Raincoat; Flyer from Nancy Griffith; Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend"; Paul Simon's "Graceland"; John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman; John Prine; a couple of the "Live at the World Cafe" albums I get from WXPN; Iris Dement's "My Life"; Neil Young Unplugged; Beatles' Revolver; Enya's Shepherd Moons and Watermark; Boz Scaggs' Silk Degrees; Sade's Soldier of Love; Santana's Supernatural; Lucinda Williams' Sweet Old World; Bob Dylan's The Times They Are a Changin'; Toni Childs' Union; U2's Until the End of the World; the Cure's Wish...then ran out of power :( and listened to whatever radio we could get in the mountains.

I had a mediocre steak dinner last night. Three loose/wet scrambled eggs with thick sliced beefsteak tomato for breakfast, with a glass of cranberry juice and coffee. I visited General Electric, one of our good customers, who manufacture locomotives in Erie...cool factory. No souvenirs, sorry. In fact, I was exhausted when I got home since I didn't get enough sleep last night, stayed up way too late watching a car show on TV about a famous collector hunting for cars to buy and sell, with interesting facts about the specific cars involved. So what about the chicks - bikes? I have viewed such sites and enjoyed them. I have no real interest in the NBA hoopla...don't even know what the hoopla is about. Yes I have ridden a horse many times, also mules a few times. My sister used to own a horse. Ahhh, my Supra is still close to my heart...as much as a hunk of formed metal and plastic can be. My new and unique custom twin turbo setup finished as of the last couple of months is just totally awesome, surpassed all my expectations for responsiveness and power; on normal 93 octane pump gas it made 620whp which translates (with the typical 15% driveline losses of my 6 speed) to 730 hp from the motor; I'll clarify that I spray 50%/50% methanol/distilled water just ahead of the throttle body to suppress detonation, you can see the pump in the lower right where the battery used to be, now relocated to the trunk...it's quite healthy and fun, so much so that I can't imagine needing to change anything from now on. I'm sort of proud that some highly knowledgeable and respectable Supra motorheads around the world have said things like "that's the best powerband I've ever seen from a 2JZ". I hope to hit the track with it very soon to see how it feels now on a roadcourse. Here's a current photo of the underhood:

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0511-15181.jpg

Jetée 07-07-2010 09:25 PM

I was about to ask if your pump had scales, but then I realized that's the left of the photo, and decided to retract such a statement
("what? Jet doesn't know his left from his right? How can this be?").

Thanks for all the details, BadNick; I fit in whatever queries cae to mind at the time, and also happened to fit into this box I'm typing in right now, as seen below:

A few years ago, a mother and father decided they needed a break, so they wanted to head out for a night on the town. They called their most trusted babysitter. When the babysitter arrived, the two children were already fast asleep in bed. So the babysitter just got to sit around and make sure everything was okay with the children. Later that night, the babysitter got bored and went to watch TV, but she couldn’t watch it downstairs because they did not have cable downstairs (the parents didn’t want children watching too much garbage).

So, she called them and asked them if she could watch cable in the parent’s room. Of course, the parents said it was okay, but the babysitter had one final request…she asked if she could cover up the clown statue outside the bedroom window with a blanket or cloth, at the very least close the blinds, because it made her nervous. The phone line was silent for a moment, and the father who was talking to the babysitter at the time said, “Take the children and get out of the house…we will call the police. We do not have a clown statue.”

The police found all three of the house occupants dead within three minutes of the call. No clown statue was ever found.

From this valley they say you are going.

rare lightning + rainbow combination

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ngrainbow2.jpg

Jetée 07-09-2010 07:39 PM

When you hear 'thunder', do you just think of the sound of the 'crack' and 'booms'?

When you hear 'lightning', do you only picture the stems and ziggings of coarsing electricity, making its touchdown upon earth?

Then why we do have thunderbolts and lightning bolts? What's the difference, bolt-wise?

Is one blue (lightning) and one golden (thunder)? These are the questions that classic English Literature have instilled in my wrought mind.

BadNick 07-09-2010 09:13 PM

Thunderbolt and Lightning are also two of my favorite local tracks...at NJMP.

I don't know about the radish/onion similarity. Doesn't seem like it to my taste. But I'm not a Fraggle, so who knows? ...though reading this makes me want to be a Fraggle:

Fraggles live on a diet of vegetables, especially radishes and "doozer sticks". Fraggle Rock has caves filled with all manner of creatures and features, and which seem to connect to at least two different worlds that exist in different dimensions of time and space. Fraggles live a very carefree life, spending most of their time playing, exploring, and generally enjoying themselves. However, that does not make them by any means irresponsible or simple: they maintain a fairly complex culture and society, with each Fraggle having a particular responsibility to uphold.

MoMA | Vik Muniz: Painting with Chocolate
One of Muniz’s most well-known bodies of work is a series of pictures rendered in chocolate sauce. Action Photo, after Hans Namuth (1997) is made after a 1950 photograph taken by Hans Namuth of Jackson Pollock frozen in mid-dance as he was making one of his paintings, Autumn Rhythm. Muniz’s subsequent appropriation and translation of this image into chocolate is a perfect marriage of subject and material. The viscous chocolate syrup (incidentally, he used the brand Bosco) is a perfect stand-in for Pollock’s wet, shiny paint drips. This new acquisition not only strengthens the Museum’s Muniz holdings, but is a welcome complement to MoMA’s rich Pollock collection.

yikes! that radar is scary! Grace, do you know what a cubit is? Good luck and I hope you're blessed with safety.

Coincidentally, earlier today I was looking at waterparks and found that Noah's Ark Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells has an awesome ride called the Scorpion's Tail.

However, for purposes of this longest thread, I'd also like to mention that The Holiday World Spashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana has a water ride called Wildebeest which is "the world's longest water coaster", a soaking one-third-mile ride with a total of eight hills, the first conveyor lift hill ending in a four-story drop at a 45-degree angle, three tunnels (two underground) and a helix.

Yikes. Last night's storms were dramatic & some fun to watch.
(from a safe hole in the ground.)

Cubits? All I know of cubits are from an old text that commanded how many of them
a certain resting place for a specified item, required.

I suppose cubits could be those small broken pieces left over,
after trying to empty an ice-cube tray.

BadNick 07-15-2010 01:48 PM

Also, 3 X 3 X 3 is taking 3 and you cubit. I like the ice thing, too. Those damn cubits are usually the reason my ice maker hangs up. I'll have to invent a cubit-resistant ice maker if you don't already have a patent on it.

Yeah, but still, Jetee,
a cubit's a measurement,
easily googled.

Alex Mupondi hung dollar bills to dry after washing them in Harare, Zimbabwe, Tuesday (of last week).
Locals say the bills are often too smelly to handle by the time they make it to their country.
The Zimbabwean government declared the U.S. dollar legal tender last year.

In local legal tender,
can I assume he's got some money?
What smells bad is relative.

BadNick 07-15-2010 08:32 PM

money stinks, but no money stinks worse

Tell me about it,
I've been gaining perspective,
which most times is good.

Finances On The Edge? by Chuck P.

People that are blind are able to discern monetary valuations by using tactile methods.

I laid awake last night, wondering what blind people's dreams might entail.

I took into account the whole blind from birth factor.

I realized that no matter how detailed my own dreams are,
they mostly contain visual references. I see colors,
but the smell/taste sense of the awake visceral experience,
does not cross the barrier of my dream experience,

so far?

Jetée 07-16-2010 01:25 PM

That's probably one of the most existential theories of mind (in part) that we re-occurringly misremember about feeling uneasy to talk about: "how do the blind (from birth) dream? How do they associate what we so often take for granted: the visual cues and reminders that we are, indeed, at least for today, alive?".

I wonder if there's been a real pscylogical investigation on this musing.

Look out in the dark.
The monsters that remain there
are under your beds.

I feel a little bit graced since I often smell things in my dreams. Maybe taste, too. I'll have to try to remember that next time.
