how tricky! A fair skinned and haired vampire...they seem quite rare. But she doesn't have dark rings around her eyes (sorry for the allusion, ring) so perhaps I need to suck a bit of her blood. Not too much, just a drop.

Speaking of: kappas (again)
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l6...583xo1_400.jpg you do remember that kappas are sometime likened to 'vampires', did you not? only (minor) difference being is they suck your body dry by entering thru your anus, and then... I don't know, I guess they get creative with those webbed-hands, and the beak. Quote:

we might have shared some thinking, the lights & colors: Black hats & red shirts & less obvious symbols, like right pocket pink. |

I'm so unbearably sad.
(also disappointed I have not yet located that quote I was talking about a page prior.) |
I tried to find that quote. No progress.
A book I read years ago had a chapter (sub-chapter?) titled: The gifts of melancholia Oh yeah, it was Thomas Moore's - Care of the Soul. Now I have that Soul Sister song stuck in my head. |

ring: I'm still playing around with the idea of starting a TLTE! blog, a public one, per your initial thoughts on why there was none... as well as one that inhabits the TFP - tandem-TLTE!-blogs!
Have you heard of Posterous? (FAQ) I think it can serve us well, as there is no need to sign up, or join a group, or eve be connected to the internet (I thought I read they had some sort of telephone-posting feature, but how this would work, is beyond me). I am very wary of starting endeavors myself, especially ones in which I know I cannot complete (I can start it, sure - but will I see it through?). Thoughts? Should I give up in trying to expose the masses to the triumphs of TLTE!, given the fact that largely and without any hesitations, it's made abundantly clear that the community as a whole pays us no mind; and would mind not, as well, if we were to disappear tomorrow in a reverse-spinning tornado to whence I don't know some technicolored-rainbows mirage themselves into twine? (I think I put much too much effort into conceptualizations, that when it comes time towards creations, I get anxious and nervous and yellow that it won't live up to expectations. I hype / psych myself out.) |
Carl Jung's Near Death Experience is an interesting read.
Something about Posterous brought that to mind. Here's to psyching ourselves in. ---------- Post added at 01:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:45 PM ---------- This thread has 199 thousand plus views, Jet, & I don't believe it's just the posters reading. The audience is there....being quiet. |
I think I look at this thread about 10,000 times a day, approximately +/-
In case anyone is outside tonight and the next few nights observing the Perseid Meteor Shower, be safe: wear proper meteor resistant safety glasses. I forego the hardhat, but I live dangerously and don't recommend that to the average person. http://stardate.org/nightsky/meteors/ |
Cicadas by day---meteors by night. Oh yes.
There must be handfuls & handfuls of cicadas in the woods, but I only hear one at a time. They seem to be teaching about..taking your turn. |
Taking a couple small turns,
'round meteor resistant glasses, the cicadas are coming! Oh my! (2x3)+(1x3)=9 |
I've never eaten them yet, but it seems that if fried nice and crispy, cicadas might be a tasty treat.

My new favorite dressing is Trader Joe's Goddess. I love this stuff.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...food/12391.jpg I bet crispy cicadas on a bed of nice bib lettuce with some sliced juicy tomatoes and drizzled lightly with Goddess dressing would be an awesome lunch. I'd have a couple beers with it. |
I think I've viewed this thread at least a dozen times today, yet I only count 1 post to my name.
I drive it up. Through the road of statistical skewed analysis. - - - while I have you BadNick, I've been thinking about creating a new thread dedicated to you, of and pertaining to your loving flow for WAVES. Any thought's of where you might want it - Nonsense, MP, Sports (very, very tentative)? |
Jet, of course I think the WAVES thread is a good idea. I can imagine it taking interesting twists and turns and involving all sorts of varied subject matter. Not sure where it would fit, though. It can't be just photography since other media and art forums would surely be displayed. Not all would be sports. Seems like nonsense or playground might be the best fits. In case you're counting votes, I vote Nonsense.
I haven't forgotten the sports thing. I'm still looking into it and will decide very soon. |
What sports thing - just now, or sometime, somewhere (else), previously stated?
(Oh, yeah. Just ticked.) - - - for the followers and dear readers of this monumental thread: what sports do follow and hold a vested interest in? elaborate. |
Oh, Batshit....
|
I like bats, but my sentiments do not apply to their shit. I get enough shit from my kids. But I do carry two metal bats in my car.
|
(2+3-1)+4=8
Sentiments for shit would make you scatophilic. I'd cry if you were. |
I hate all one-word, no-thought threads.
Not "hate", but I just don't comprehend their appeal. (again, I try too hard to "last" longer - a legacy, I'm trying to impart.) |
Your blog is coming along nicely.
Sports? I used to like playing tennis when I was younger. I haven't watched much these past few years, but that buzz about the recent interminable match had me curious. It was amazing. |
Oh. yes.
I had forgotten to indulge my own inquiry. I follow, admire and play (amateurly) the professional sports of tennis, the NFL, and on occasion, F1 (and American road course motorsports) as well as the NHL. Stuff I might watch: X-Games, Australian Rules Football / Rugby, croquet tournament, women's volleyball, , college/high school/Canadian football, NBA, ping-pong, MMA. things I can't get into "watching": baseball, golf, men's volleyball, PBA, futbol, (American, Internacional or otherwise) lacrosse. |
Placemark experiment (I'm thinking this isn't the best website to barely infringe copyrights with...)

You've gotten a clue,
It's occurring to me, Jet, about randomness. 2=3-1=5-3 |
A lot of thought, and of course, feeling, went into my one word comment, but you did say "thread" so I assume you were not remarking on my comment?

Feeling's important,
& more powerful than words, but far less utile. (2x3)-1=5=5 (I think he was referring to word association, etc.) |
I'm feeling my age today.
This gravity thing is getting old: |
...as old as you feel,
a life without gravity is inconvenient. 2+(3into15)=7 |
My parent's collection of Burl Ives songs included this one.
My younger sister always sang the line .."he died so hard, he ground the mud in my backyard." "Well, I had an old dog and his name was Blue, Had an old dog and his name was Blue. Had an old dog and his name was Blue... Betcha five dollars he's a good dog too... "Here old Blue" "Good dog you" Well, I shouldered my axe and I tooted my horn, Went to find 'possum in the new-grown corn. Old Blue treed and I went to see, Blue had 'possum up a tall oak tree. Mmm, boy I roast'd 'possum, nice and brown, Sweet po-ta-toes, n' all a-round... And to say "Here old Blue (here-boy) You can have some too" Now, Old Blue died and he died so hard, Made a big dent in my back-yard. Dug his grave with a silver spade, Lowered him down with a link of chain. Ev-er-y link I did call his name... Singing "Here…old...Blue-ue... "Good dog you" Now, when I get to heaven, first thing I'll do. When I get to heaven, first thing 'awm do. When I get to heaven first thing I'll do, Pull out my horn and call old Blue... I'll say, "Here Old Blue come-on dog" "Good dog you." I'll say, "Here Blue-e" "I'm a coming there too" "Down boy... good dog" I know Mr Ives didn't write this song..I forget who did. |
((2+3)-1)+5=9
Wish I had dog years; timing longer hasn't worked, nor seemed that it might. |

Jet, I love that vid of the Perseids.
Btw, can you post a little guide for me about how to embed vimeo here? Thanks and keep looking up. |
I think we have some combination of Cynth / SMeth to thank for it, as well as some consistent monthly hounding by myself and Shauk.
Basic formula is that the url address to the video below is Perseid Meteor Shower Failure on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/14133160) Then, you just encapsulate the unique video ID# in the vimeo's video url address within [vimeo] tags, and it is quite simple; just as easy as the [youtube] tags. Quote my post to see it. Quote:

Thanks for your Savvy Help.
What else is a going on? Besides Tim Tebow shaving his completely clean. |
I'm hoping to start these three new topics tonight:
- The Architecture, Sculpture & Design Thread (either in: Found on Net, Artwork, or MP) - Creative Advertisements(-ing) (I'm open to suggestions about better titling) - A little something for BadNick: WAVES ... but the procrastination, and previous ton of work I have built up, might make it difficult. (I currently have around 25 other tabs opened right now, and on average, I have to sort through maybe 1,200 odd-links, stories and photographs to close and complete my weekend's work started.) |
Here's a wave snack to tide us over:

I've seen the above before, written by a familiar voice, I'm imagining.
Has it been featured in TLTE! before, and would you happen to know the context? |
I do believe I posted these shortly after joining TFP.
These images are from a book titled: Disaster Science. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...terScience.jpg |
Jet, thanks for the vimeo explanation. I'll try it soon. Did you start the "wave" thread yet? I'm not trying to pressure or rush you, but I don't want to miss it. I have a "surfing" folder on PB and I'll start adding to it.
ring, I remember that wave sequence. Here's one I don't recall posting previously ...no credit since I don't know where it came from: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2..._Sun_by_la.jpg |

Excellent intro to the wave thread, Jetty.
I'll enjoy finding worthy contributions. |
I (perhaps: we) posted quite a few choice examples last summer, I recall; the seasons pass much too fast... I've got to quit standing still.
Here's a queued entry from my TLTE note, now-newly created to share with only thee few: http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l5...td5bo1_500.jpg (hm..? I wasn't expecting this. what does it mean?) Post-EDIT: Ro-sham-bo? (Rochambeau?) |
Jet, thanks. I'm honored that you started the wave thread ..for me! I hope others also enjoy it and can contribute cool wave stuff. Thanks, bud.

I hate to say it, but I agree with that guy (Adam Smith or John Locke, *grumbles) from whatever period he doth spawned: all human reality sucks, is a burden, and is generally: lonesome in the beginning, times in the middle, and certainly at the end. We live but to die.
