Haha, maybe I'm the only one... but I haven't really had a problem with lag or server issues.
Maybe a few times in the few months I've been playing, like the AH taking forever to respond sometimes as well as the authentication server being down for 15 mins max. Other than that, I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about.

Of course, when many people say "lag" they refer to video lag in IF caused by their computers not being up to par. There is a difference between connection lag and video lag and most people do not know the difference. They say that IF lags too much and that they're going at 3 FPS and that Blizzard really needs to fix their servers so it won't do it. Not true, the 3 FPS is caused by your videocard and RAM. The AH lag is Blizzard's part, however. I do agree with the IF video lag. I have a 6800 GT, Barton 2500+ CPU, and 768 MB of RAM. My PC runs at 20-35 FPS in IF...everywhere else in the world it runs at 50-60 FPS. I know it's because of the massive character amounts. Fine, find a way for our PCs to load them faster! Damn. When I log into IF, my PC also locks up for a few seconds two or three times before IF is fully loaded with all the players. This is another issue that needs to be fixed. WoW loads characters in a really inefficient manner if it's causing a top of the line videocard with 768 MB of system RAM to go at 0 FPS until it "loads" for 15 seconds. -Lasereth

Las,
I feel the pain too. When I hearth into Orgimmar my comp will freeze for a solid 10 seconds while it processes everyone/everything that's there. This is on a AMD FX-55 w/ SLi 6800GTs and 2k RAM. Should that be happening? Oh, I don't think so. |

When I was playing last weekend, our server crashed, and I ended up losing a level because of it. Bleah. I have noticed Zul'Jin Slowly getting worse, as population increases. Bloodscalp is still low population though, I have no problems on there.

Additionally, problems with sound? That's weird. I didn't know there were any of those. Of course, I usually turn mine off and run my iPod through my stereo with a mini-to-RCA adapter because I'd rather listen to that anyway, but of the five guys in my house who have the game, I don't remember something like that happening to any of us. |

Many of the sound problems are specific to certain soundcards or integrated sound chips. I'm pretty sure my nForce SoundStorm chip is causing the problem, but Blizzard should have fixed any compatibility issues by now. Tons of motherboards use nVIDIA audio...I'm actually surprised more people aren't complaining.

If you want to make money most people suggest gathering professions. Mining, herbalisim and skinning are the three gathering ones. You can sell what you pick up in the AH for a decent amount of coin but it very unpredictable what will sell from day to day. If you want pick up first aid/fishing/cooking. They are all secondary professions and do not count against your primary ones. Fishing is now the most singularly boring thing to do in the game but can be bought up fairly high if you dedicate an hour or so to it. If you do take alchemy get your fishing up a bit so you can catch blackmouths and firefins which are needed for some potions. First aid is great for downtime recovery but is really not needed if you're a druid since you have the healing. Cooking goes well with fishing and you can move them up at the same time, cooking what you fish. There are a few really good cooking recipes out there that grant bonuses to your stats and the ever fun dragon breath chili. Tradeskills are fun in this game but hardly pay out anything for the time invested in them. They are a great diversion to the level grind though and I recommend at least trying a few out to see what you like.

Sure can. If you go to the change realm icon on the character select screen you can choose another realm to start a character on.

and do the professions regularly... otherwise if you drop off for a bit.. you'll end up having to go back to catch up.
Hence I should be further in leatherworking but I stopped making and just gathered and sold. That put me in some deficit now because I cannot make anything with the better leather I'm getting in the levels now.

Hit 60 on my Paladin about a week ago, end game atm is pretty boring since there's really no real reason to go PvP besides pissing off newbs. Trying to get a full suit of Lightforge (Paladin set) aside from the gloves and boots the set is nice. I have better gloves than the set gloves atm, so I'll most likely just keep those and try to get Valor boots or some other better boots. As far as professions go Halx, if you're a Druid the best professions to pick up would be Skinning/Leatherworking. That way you can skin the leather needed to craft your own armor if you keep your skill up with your character lvl. That's just imo, you can go any profession, but Skinning/Leatherworking seems to work best with classes that strictly wear leather. Plus, skinning can net a nice amount of money in the Auction House because it is used in other professions, like Blacksmithing.

Are there any experts in the field of First Aid that I can ask a question? I am lvl 40 mage with 210 in my First Aid. Where and when can I learn to make Mageweave bandages? I am assuming thats the next step. All of my items in my First Aid menu are now gray which I take to mean that I don't earn any First Aid XP for making them. How do I progress in my First Aid? Thanks
P.S. I have tried to find a trainer in IF, SW, etc. but to no avail.

Mageweave bandages are learned from a manual that can be bought in Stormgarde Keep in Arathi Highlands. In order to progress past 225 you need to talk to the first aid trainer in IF to get a quest to talk to a doctor in Theramore. You will have to do a quest for him and after that you will be able to get artisan first aid. He will teach you heavy mageweave at 240, runecloth at 260, and heavy runecloth at 290. Hope this helps.
