We do have ritual human sacrifice; we call it the public education system.

B_G,
I understand what you're saying since both of my wives taught in public schools. But as I'm sure you'll agree, there are exceptions...like the public schools in my neighborhood are pretty damn good imo, and I only see them doing the human sacrifice thing once in a while...not too bad. |

There are exceptions, but even with the quality schools, there are still a number of sacrifices that must be made in the name of standardization and expectations....even in the best of schools.

Otherwise, I think some of my female encounters are "haunted"...before I married my current, final, and all-time favorite wife, three women I dated in the few years previously all had the same exact birthday as my lovely dearest wife...Oct. 17 At least it makes it easy to remember since I have a problem with those things, due I'm sure to my faulty early education. PS: I see you're from Toronto...one of my favorite cities. I have plenty of cousins who live there and spent most of my childhood summers there, often causing havoc in High Park to the extent that even the Royal Canadian Mounties had to come get us. One of my cousins was a teacher, then a principal, and is now a superintendent somewhere in a public school district around there. Last edited by BadNick; 06-20-2008 at 10:33 AM.. |

I skipped school quite a bit the last semester of my senior year. >_>
I've also smoked a bowl in my Horticulture class, go figure.

I don't see how you can get bored with nonsense. After all, somebody important once said "Don't take life too seriously; you'll never get out of it alive".
And Liz Hurely, who I think, and know, is hotter than hell, once said "I would seriously question whether anybody is really foolish enough to really say what they mean. Sometimes I think that civilization as we know it would kind of break down if we all were completely honest". And that inimitable Salvador Dali once said "It is not necessary for the public to know whether I am joking or whether I am serious, just as it is not necessary for me to know myself". And that weird Greek guy, Plato, once said "No human thing is of serious importance". And of course, other people said stuff, too. I rest my case. |
