21st Century Commandments
1. I am the Lord thy God and thou shalt have not too many other Gods besides
me. 2. Thou shalt make no graven images. This is a major religion, not a shop class. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of thy God in vain without the express written consent of thy God. The name "Thy God" is the sole property of thy God. Any use of the name of thy God without the express written consent of thy God is unauthorized and illegal and shall be punished by thy God. 4. Remember the Sabbath, thy squash game and thy other appointments. 5. Honor thy single parent. 6. Thou shalt not kill a man just to watch him die. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery and then run for office. 8. Thou shalt not steal. (Note: Not really applicable to car radios.) 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor when appearing before Judge Wapner. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, his servants, his flocks, or his powertools.

Translation from above: "In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags."
I am not tech savvy. I need to find a translation application for the, Le Monde web news-site, and others. Being uni-lingual, is frustratingly limiting. (two years of Latin doesn't count.) Last edited by ring; 06-30-2009 at 03:48 AM.. |

I personally find wordreference.com to be a good aid in a pinch.
I also use thesaurus.com and answers.com on the regular, since I integrated them within my address bar for easy search function.

I think Latin is such an exquisite language.

Man, I'm trying to tackle learning most of the prominent Romantic Languages right now; it's really slow-going, as my Spanish is rusty, my French is Anglicized, and my Portuguese and Italian are derived from me thinking in Spanish/English first, so it's fraught with subject/verb misplacement.
And those insufferable conjugations! I might never get to Japanese, but for those that took Latin in practice, the enunciation of the language is very similar, save for the sometimes silent "U"s and extra "O"s.

My rather dyslexic brain has a time with that as well.
It could also be the reason that it seems almost impossible for me to drive a manual vehicle, or if I try to type more than twenty words a minute, my brain switches and then my hands reverse on the qwerty board. The results are rather humorous. I've become a fast hunter-pecker. ..wait, that sounded weird. |

I have this tiny self-diagnosed condition in which I retain no more than ten words at my disposal at any given time, and the way my mind operates, it takes quite a fickle while to produce any more discourse beyond the point in which I must dig into the archive for more babblepieces.

Besides my slowpokiness, I "rub" nectarines. (I'm playing this game with myself in which I transpose 'L's to 'R's, 'B's to 'V's, and on occasions, 'M's to 'N's.) I wish I had a juicy nectarine right now instead of this disgusting banana. It "brows majoly".

i believe its some sort of weird hybrid cause the taste is truly offputting
perhaps it is a filipino banana that may look the same as the costa rican one but it has a radically different tastes and texture that of spit

RadNick, seems like a good enough offput of your already nickinized name.
You are dubbed "RedNick" (or was it Rad?).

Bird's nest soup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Recipe: 3 1/2 oz. bird's nest (dried) 6 cups chicken stock 1 large chicken breast (deboned) 1 Tbls. Dry sherry 1/4 cup rich chicken stock 2 Egg whites 1 tsp. Salt 2 Green onions (minced) 1 Tbls. Ham (Smithfield, minced ) 2 Tbls. Cornstarch 2 Tbls. Chicken stock 1. In a large bowl, soak bird's nest water overnight in cold. Drain and rinse. Then spread softened nest pieces on plate; Remove any prominent pieces of 'foreign' matter (e.g. feathers, twigs). 2. Remove membrane and muscle fiber from chicken breast. Using a cleaver handle, pound meat to break down tissue and mince chicken until it is pulp. In a mixing bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 Tbls. chicken stock to make a medium thick paste. Set aside. 3. When ready to cook, heat 6 cups of chicken stock on high heat until boil. Immediately add bird's nest and simmer for 30 minutes. Slowly dribble dry sherry into minced chicken. Using a fork, lightly beat egg whites and fold gently into chicken so they are not completely blended. 4. Bring soup back to boil and slowly add chicken stock mixture to soup. Add salt to soup and heat on medium heat. When soup returns to boil, serve in serving bowls. Garnish with green onions. |

I like red, I like rad. In fact, I like rat, too, so I'm plotting a rat rod ride and I'm sure you'll appreciate the 2JZGTE powertrain...I haven't found one like that so all the more appealing it will be. RatNick ...reminds me of Rat Fink
