Coke all the way!

Valentine's Day: actual holiday or over-hyped ripoff?

shesus 01-22-2006 11:51 AM

Valentine's day is an over-hyped rip-off. But I always use it as an excuse to get more lingerie. ;)

Do you prefer hot weather or cold weather?

feelgood 01-22-2006 01:20 PM

Cold weather

ER or House, MD?

Lucifer 01-22-2006 01:26 PM

ER, closet-Weaver freak!

Criminal Minds or Law & Order?

blahblah454 01-22-2006 01:43 PM

To tell you the truth I watch like 1 hour of TV a week, maybe even a month. I have never even heard of Criminal minds and I have seen only half an episode of L&O. So Law and Order gets my vote because I have at least heard of it.

Do you like onions?

maleficent 01-22-2006 03:16 PM

mmmm onions... yum yum... vidalia and red are the only ones i like raw - but cook everything else.... i'm in heaven... onion soup - mmmmmm-- carmelized onions.... mmmm- anything but creamed...

Do you like to cook,. what's your specialty and have you posted the recipe in tilted cooking?

uncle phil 01-22-2006 03:33 PM

tecoyah 01-22-2006 03:40 PM

Yup....many times as a kid. Only two hours from good 'ol San Diego. Went before they changed it...the first time. Then went after they changed it the third time......even goosed minney mouse as a teenager.

Ever Eaten Snails?

maleficent 01-22-2006 03:42 PM

Escargot are insanely good --I've made a delicious version with butter and garlic and parlsey and a puff pastry topping -baked for about 15 minutes-- mmmm mmmm good...

What kind of drunk are you>

Fremen 01-22-2006 04:26 PM

Never been drunk, but I would hope I would be an amiable and jolly drunk. (I fear I wouldn't, though)

Have you ever got stuck up a tree, afraid to climb back down?

Lucifer 01-22-2006 04:41 PM

sure, when you're up a tree 6 feet can look like 60.

What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?

JumpinJesus 01-22-2006 04:48 PM

When I was only 5 years old, my older sister and her best friend forced me to act like a cow and graze in our front yard. She made me eat grass. I'd have to say that was the strangest thing I've ever eaten.

You've made quite a name for yourself posting here in the tfp. Having gained that bit of notoriety, you've been asked many questions that just seem cliched and trite. I don't want to do that to you out of respect for your craft and your time. So, I'll ask a simple question: If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

blahblah454 01-22-2006 06:36 PM

Easy, I would be a Weeping Willow. No I am not some pansy that cries all the time, this is about trees gosh darnit! I love the look of the tree. As a child vacationing in BC at the lakes there would be weeping willows everywhere. Playing in the shade of these magnificent trees is amazing. They just sing of beauty and they remind me of being young and free.

How do you feel about the way the world is moving in its food aspects? The way everything is instant this, instant that, fast food, sprayed with pestasides, pumped full of hormones and steriods ext. ext.

noodle 01-22-2006 07:02 PM

We've lost touch with our food. I personally am trying to move back to organics when possible. Can't give up my Lean Cuisines, but aim for the spa ones with whole grains. Always feel better when I'm eating less processed, hydrolyzed, and hormonalized stuff. I bow before the altar of Whole Foods and Fresh Market. :D

On that note, what are your healthiest and unhealthiest favorite foods?

fresnelly 01-22-2006 08:25 PM

Healthiest: The humble apple.
Unhealthiest: Deep. Fried. Cheese.

What's the most you've ever spent at a restaurant on a single meal?

feelgood 01-22-2006 08:27 PM

About 50 bucks, it was buying chinese take outs for the family.

FedEx or UPS?

Plummie 01-22-2006 10:47 PM

UPS - the prices are better.

Do you have any birds? If so, what kind?

777 01-22-2006 10:51 PM

Neither, I just use the USPS for everything. Even that iPod I sold once.

Considering it's late January, are you still keeping your New Year's Resolutions?

blahblah454 01-23-2006 05:09 AM

I don't really make "New Years Resolutions". But recently I have been trying to spend less time on the computer, and more time reading, doing school work, and getting fit. I have been doing a pretty decent job of it so far (going on my 4th week now). So I would say that my resolutions to try and manage my time better have been successful.

How much TV would you say you watch in an average week? This excludes putting in movies.

maleficent 01-23-2006 05:09 AM

seeing as i didn't see the point in making any this year, i'd say yeah, i'm keeping my new years resolution of not making any ;)

and in answer to plummie's question - no birds here, one or two birdbrained people in my life but no pet birds - the obnoxious ones that cheep outside my window in the spring are bad enough... :D

blah's question -- When i am home, my tv is almost always on, primarily for background noise... i can't stand total silence... but i would say i watch maybe 2 hours of television per day...

do you like snow/ why or why not?

Charlatan 01-23-2006 05:28 AM

I love snow. I love it when it snows in December and I'm not yet used to the cold and trudging. I love snow when it falls in big, fat flakes. I love snow when it crunches beneath your feet as you walking it and it makes excellent snow balls.

I hate snow in March, when I've had enough. I hate snow when it falls wet and dripping. I hate snow when it has been on the ground too long and looks more brown and grey than fluffy and white. I hate snow when it gets shoved down the back of my coat.

Oddly this winter, we have had very little snow.

How often do you get your hair cut and do you go to a barber or a stylist? How much to you pay?

Lucifer 01-23-2006 05:39 AM

I've gone back to shaving my head, so I do it myself about every two weeks. I've been to both extremes with my hair, from down to below my shoulders to shaved bald. As much as I liked having it long, short is the easiest to take care of.

Ever had a suit tailored from scratch?

Poppinjay 01-23-2006 07:42 AM

Yes - for a cruise, and I've had a couple of tuxes made for when I was in a touring college chorus.

Wouldn't a bowl of delicious chicken soup be great right about now?

Lucifer 01-23-2006 10:40 AM

It really would. Blowing like stink here today, windchill is down to -25.

what's the highest education you've got?

Carno 01-23-2006 12:10 PM

The highest education I have gotten so far is my high school diploma, but I am currently getting my bachelor's degree. My best education though, would have to be all of the travelling I've done.

If you could change your past and take back the decision to sleep with one person, why would you do it?

JustJess 01-23-2006 12:16 PM

Because the decision was made out of ignorance and folly and the arrogance of youth. I prefer to live life without regrets.

What's the last line of the last good book you read?

Lucifer 01-23-2006 12:17 PM

I would take back the decision to sleep with the woman i lost my virginity to. Cause although she had a killer body, redhead, and was outstandingly beautiful, I really didn't care for her, and she didn't for me. and then the next summer I fell in love with a great girl, and it would have been so much better to do it with her. But I was so sick of being a virgin, I was 21 for christ's sake!

(looking at Carn's avatar) Ever gone streaking?

feelgood 01-23-2006 01:44 PM

Yeah, I shaked my thing in front of my family and severly tramaized my brother as a result...

(Canadian Election) did you vote!? why the hell not?

Sultana 01-23-2006 03:40 PM

No Way! Because I'm not Canadian!

To jump on Carn's wagon:

If you could change your past and take back your decision to NOT sleep with someone, why would you do it?

feelgood 01-23-2006 03:48 PM

Because of the awkwardness I have to put up at work now, she's a coworker ;)

If you could change your past and take back your decision to NOT sleep with someone, why would you do it?

shesus 01-23-2006 05:54 PM

I would take back my decision because it was the perfect mood and we both really wanted to. However, I didn't go through with it because I was engaged at the time. But I broke up the engagement shortly after that so I should have just done it. ;)

Where did you go on your first date?

Lucifer 01-23-2006 06:01 PM

to the movies, but i don't remember what it was...

How many telephone numbers can you remember?

feelgood 01-23-2006 06:08 PM

2, my house and cell phone number

your favourite website (beside this one :) )

Carno 01-23-2006 06:10 PM

EDIT: oops, too slow.

My other favorite website is a forum set up for surfers that live around me. Because it's small and local I don't want to give the link.

What makes you insanely mad? I'm talking like supernova, megaton of TNT, guns of the Navarrone mad?

blahblah454 01-23-2006 08:00 PM

Hmm... some idiot supervisor that I have to work with. I would say I am generaly a pretty nice and understanding person, but the mere sight of him makes me want to smash his head off the side of a wall. Oh I cant wait to quit and go to school!

And I did vote! I voted conserves!!!

Do you think I would look good in a cowboy hat? (hehe, for a pic go to tilted exhibition.. don't worry I am clothed. well, minus a shirt)

maleficent 01-24-2006 05:03 AM

the right cowboy hat perhaps - -long as it fits you well... :) yes you would...

the definition of stress is when the mind overrides the body's desire to choke the living crap out of some asshole who desperately deserves it.... That said... to lessen the stress - is it wrong to want to choke some people - -or at the very least to tell them to shut the hell up... if it helps with my stress? (yes, i know, it's not all about me but... ) defend your answer.

Daoust 01-24-2006 05:18 AM

It is not wrong, because wrong is a relative concept. If you don't think it's wrong, it's not wrong. You are the judge, jury and executioner of your own fate. Nobody nowhere at no time has any control over you to tell you what to think, do or feel.

Question: is what I just said pure shit?

Lucifer 01-24-2006 05:28 AM

Probably, but who cares? this is the Nonsense forum after all...

When you drive by workers on strike, do you honk the horn in support or just give them the finger, depending on whether you are pro-union or not?

maleficent 01-24-2006 05:30 AM

I don't give the finger because I'm not overly rude... but i am also anything but pro union - I might write a journal entry telling them to get the fat cat union leaders to get a clue.

Who's cooler - Captain kangaroo or Mister Rogers/ defend your answer

Bill O'Rights 01-24-2006 05:46 AM

Captain Kangaroo.
Those pingpong balls...need I really say more?

When is the last time that you actually sat down and wrote a letter to someone? Not an e-mail, not a text message, not an IM, not a phone call. An actual letter, with heading, greeting, body, salutation...oh come on...you remember 4th grade english class, don't you?
