many crappy home movies, nothing worthy of the big screen.

All funny though...

do you have a rolodex?

777 02-09-2006 08:58 AM

Yes. It's really a rubber band. I just reffer to it as a rolodex. I have this huge stack of business cards, and it's growing. I may have to get another rubber band.

Bow or Crossbow?

maleficent 02-09-2006 09:02 AM

Crossbow - I've been a bridesmaid too m any times and been subjected to too many butt bows -- butt bows are really bad... no one shoul dhave to do that - -people who are forced to wear butt bows need to shoot the person doing the forcing wiht a crossbow...

Describe your sense of humor?

feelgood 02-09-2006 09:09 AM

What's a "butt bow" as described by mal

Do you know what an anemometer is used for?

fresnelly 02-09-2006 09:25 AM

I looked it up to be sure, but found out I had it confused with a Galvanometer. Whoops.

Do you enjoy Birdwatching?

Charlatan 02-09-2006 09:26 AM

It's used for measuring wind speed, no?

No, I don't like bird watching... I have been a few times but it just didn't do it for me. I do like hiking though.

Do you know what an alethiometer is?

Lucifer 02-09-2006 09:51 AM

Yes. It's for measuring truth, or for finding your way. Intecritly (sp) beautiful, incredibly complicated and very rare, only a half-dozen in existence.

do you understand the principles of a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS)?

JustJess 02-09-2006 10:01 AM

^^ I know what it is too! Can we be Philip Glass nerds together??
Ahem, sorry.

Off the top of my head, no. But if I were to read a breakdown, I feel confident that I would understand it.

Do you secretly or obviously melt at the sight of baby animals?

feelgood 02-09-2006 10:03 AM

*puts up the tough guy pose* No ma'am

What do you eat in movie theaters other than popcorn?

fresnelly 02-09-2006 10:49 AM

If we're feeling rich and hungry, we'll get hot dogs and New-York fries.

If we're feeling truly decedant, we'll buy a pack of peanut M&M's and dump it into the Hot-buttered popcorn. It's so good, I dare you to try it.

What secret would you like to be in on?

Poppinjay 02-09-2006 11:42 AM

I don’t care where the bodies are buried, I just want to know where the gold is buried. There apparently is a pirate treasure in an incredibly complex water device that nobody has figured out yet. It’s clearly man made, dates from the early 1700’s, and acts as a ballast when anybody tries to dig or pump water for the treasure.

What's your favorite food store?

fresnelly 02-09-2006 12:16 PM

Do you mean the Oak Island treasure? Because I've been hooked by that story since I was a kid. If you find out, let me know ;)

Food Store: St. Lawrence Market in Toronto.

Do you say "Orientate" or "Orient"?

Poppinjay 02-09-2006 12:51 PM

Yeah, that's the one. I couldn't remember the name...

I say configure.

Have you gone on a vacation and the destination turned out to truly suck?

Grasshopper Green 02-10-2006 05:30 PM

Well, not exactly. We did get a hotel near Disneyland once that looked pretty nice from the pictures, and turned out to the be the Clampett family reunion hotel. Plus, the room reeked of so much cheap deodorizer that we half expected to find a dead body under the bed.

How many countries have you been to?

whats your lifetime goal?

Poppinjay 02-11-2006 07:28 AM

My lifetime goal would be to retire very early to a villa in Tuscany and spend the rest of my days doing whatever I want to do.

Oh wait, that's a dream. A goal is somethin you actually work towards. So, um, apparently my lifetime goal is to be just behind the curve of acheivement. It appears to be, anyways.

It's snowing! 10 inches! When was the last time 10 inches made you happy?

were all of your grandparents born in the united states and, if not, what country/sovereignty?

maleficent 02-11-2006 03:05 PM

My mother's father use to swear his ancestors threw the rope to the Pilgims when they landed, they've been here so long... My mother's mother was born in County Kerry in Ireland, both my father's parents were born in County Cork... but came here at a very very young age.

Ever trace your family tree?

feelgood 02-11-2006 03:25 PM

Yeah, my grandmother has this huge book that has all of the traced family line dating back to few hundred years ago. It's pretty cool actually :) My Dad's side of the family has long roots in Ontario, I think they've always been Canadian since it was coined. My mom's side goes back to Netherland when my grandparents came over to Canada during the second world war.

Which do you prefer, Olympic Sports or Professional sports? (This question was inspired by my soon-to-be-ex-wife who said, "you know, for a guy who's never tuned in SportsCenter in his life, you sure do get obsessed by the Olympics!")

maleficent 02-12-2006 08:15 AM

Is there really much of a difference? The olympics aren't truly amateurs anymore... It's not like it was when I was younger... The Olympics... are... tired... Professional sports for themost part are tired... (overpaid whiney athletes)

What's it about the olympics that fascinates people? The twinkie costumes ont he skaters?

yellowchef 02-12-2006 09:24 PM

I havent seen a second of the olympics, so I wouldnt know. The summer games are really the only thing that interests me. Baseball, swimming, diving.... stuff Im actually into.

The snowboarders though... hot, hot, hot.

yellowchef 02-13-2006 07:02 AM

There are a few things I dont wish to talk about because it involves my total stupidity and the hurt of other people. Oh and the never ending disappointment people feel for me... Im fucking stupid I guess. That I would definitely not do.

I would probably do better in high school, maybe not drink as much....and try to be a little nicer

feelgood 02-13-2006 09:57 AM

Tsk, no question!? I'm gonna answer the previous one:

I'll be born with no hearing disability, it'll be hard to imagine how different my life would be if I never had hearing disability. Also, I would do better in high school and university.

777 02-13-2006 12:20 PM

MACROSS! And Robotech. I played through the game, Robotech: Battlecry, a few times. Great fun. Downloaded Macross Zero. I plan on getting the original Macross and see the changes the made to it when it was hacked and slashed to make the American Robotech series.

Do you practice a martial art? If not, which one interests you?

Poppinjay 02-13-2006 12:38 PM

I did practice Tai Kwon Do. I would be more interested now in something like hatha yoga.

If your family moved alot when you were young, to you ever think about one place you lived and wonder what you would be like if you still lived there?

Crack 02-13-2006 01:24 PM

I have lived in so many places growing up that I never felt like I was home anywhere, so I never got a real chance to think about it like that.

have you ever seen a UFO? Tell me about it!

Plummie 02-13-2006 03:06 PM

I saw a UFO once, along with two of my friends - this was back in high school. It was a weekend night, we were sitting in a deserted park getting stoned. Suddenly a huge orange ball of light flashy thing appeared in the sky, zig-zagged back and forth for 3 seconds, then completely vanished. At first I thought, damn I'm high. Then my friend Eric was like, "Did you see that?!!". It was unlike anything any of us had ever seen before. Definitely not an airplane and its movement was so erratic, we all came to the conclusion it was a UFO. :) We still talk about it to this day, actually.

Do you enjoy camping? What is your favorite place to camp?

splck 02-13-2006 07:21 PM

Ah yes, I do have a boat. It's a 20 year-old, 12foot aluminum car-top special. It travels very nice and SLOW. So, unless you're a squirrley boy, you ain't gonna ski behind it. I do ski, but only behind other peoples more powerful boats, the type I'll never buy.

When and how did you get that god-awful scar?

Sage 02-13-2006 09:44 PM

yellowchef 02-13-2006 11:37 PM

Are you a good driver? Truthfully? What makes you a good driver?

777 02-14-2006 09:19 AM

Yes and No. I successfully avoided two colisions by not going into a panic. The first was in Pasedena (yes, that's where they have the Rose Parade). Back in the late 90s, a buddy of mine was playing at a coffee house out there. My DL had just come in the mail that day, and I was off. Never driven in that area before, and I found out the hard way that the city has it's share of one-way streets. I had made a left turn into one. There was no traffic at that moment, so I turned left from the middle lane. A split second later, it was full of cars (they came out of nowhere!). I tryed to get back into the street I was originally on, but there was too much trafic to merge. And there was plenty of on coming trafic. My only option: the left turn lane for oncoming trafic was open. So I drove into it, and crused in the middle lane until I was able to merge back into the street I was on. And no one honked at me.

The second time I cheated death I'll save for another time.

Have you ever heard a song that perfectly captured your mood and temperment at the time you heard it, as if the song was writen just for you? If not, then what your favorite song?

Sage 02-14-2006 12:36 PM

OH absloutely.... and my favorite song... well, God I dunno. I was up late last night crusing through my HUGE book of CD's I've had for ages.... I must say there are some that NEVER get old.... they're mostly silly, silly rap songs tho, Like Missy Elliot's "Get yer Freak On"

What (if any) medications are you currently taking?

When is the last time that you sat down and played a board game. No TV, radio, phone attached to your head...but just sat and played a game with your family?

Poppinjay 02-14-2006 01:10 PM

Um well, it was one of those Scene It DVD (Harry Potter) games, so does that count? It has a board. And we played it ALOT last week, but it did require the use of the TV.

What book are you into right now?

777 02-15-2006 12:02 AM

<--- It's right there. Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams. I take it everywhere. If Luis can have his blanket, then I'm going to have my book. Joe describs spiritual and philosophical lessons he has learn during his study of various martial arts. And also studied under Bruce Lee. And each section ends with a relavent quote. "You and your opponent are one. There is a coexisting relationship between you. You coexist with you opponentand become his complement, absorbing his attack and using his force to overcome him." --Bruce Lee

"To win 100 vicotories in 100 battles is not the highest skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the highest skill." --Sun-Tzu

Physically? My legs. Otherwise? My sense of humour.

How hard did you find school? Why?

feelgood 02-15-2006 01:08 PM

Hard because at this point, I'm the only one out of my group of classmates to be having a part time job. The program I'm in is considerably difficult and requires alot of man hour to be put into reading materials, doing homework, project work, etc. So, you can imagine that its hard to try to manage school and part time job every night. Plus, I gotta manage my disability in class, so there's lots of important information I'm missing during the lecture and its even harder in group discussion/project.

What is the one thing you remember most about your college days?

What are you looking forward to about today?

onodrim 02-16-2006 07:25 AM

Well I just woke up to go to my morning class after only three horus of sleep and studying all night long, then I get to miss lunch to study more while also tracking down my voice teacher to tell him I can't sing in the departmental today, take the test that's causing all the studying, then come home and clean up the mess that my roomates have made this apartment into, but...there's a tiny slight chance that Secret might come visit for a few days starting late tonight, so I guess I'm looking forward to that.

Force 10 02-17-2006 06:46 AM

Silk. I can't stand to be 'bundled up' In fact, I used to wear only ear muffs and gloves while walking from the parking lot to work in -0 weather. People used to think I was crazy but really all you need is to keep the 5 points warm and the rest will be just fine.

I like all the nutritous cerials. I like to mix and match. Pour a little of this with a little of that add some of this and there you have it. Nuts, grans, fiber galore...that's what I like. Unless there's coco pebbles...Mmmmm coco pebbles - it's been too long!

The perfect date?

yellowchef 02-17-2006 07:37 AM

Hrm, one where the guy is willing to drop $300 for dinner at some fine dinng establishment

or one that involves a nice dinner, a movie at home and him making dessert for me. Then sleep... or sex whichever comes first..

Have you ever had to care for a disabled person? How did you feel about it?

777 02-17-2006 01:10 PM

A few times back in middle school. I was hanging out with a friend of mine and we were pushing kids in their wheelchairs around campus. It was odd indeed. I'm not sure that the mentally retarded twins in wheelchairs knew that we were there.

And then there's my friend Jorge who walked with cruches. We're were, like, 12 or 13, and mostly played video games. After a few years, we grew apart. And we had some fun at Disneyland. He brought his wheelchair, and his brother and me got to the front of every line :D

Besides replying to this post, what are you doing right now?

JustJess 02-17-2006 01:15 PM

Throughout the day? Water for the most part. Tap water is fine by the way.

shesus 02-17-2006 03:10 PM

I would be a personal shopper if I still had to work. But if I didn't have to work and I didn't have to have money to spend, I would just travel all over the world. I wouldn't have a house just a passport and be a nomad.

Do you like to camp and if so what is your favorite part of it?

fresnelly 02-17-2006 03:44 PM

I love to camp. I've camped out in both summer and winter. One of my favourite things is when you get up in the middle of the night, and it's completely quiet with the stars and moon lighting up the sky from horizon to horizon.
