take a nice warm blanket, leave my cell phone and computer at home, and go to barnegat light on the jersey shore... and just watch the waves...

What did you have for dinner tonite?

Charlatan 02-03-2006 05:10 PM

We ordered Chinese from the Silk Road Cafe... I had Kung Po Chicken, Momo and Rice.

I also had a taste of my wife's Buddah bowl ;)

Do you drive to get where you are going or do you have other forms of conveyance?

Giant Hamburger 02-03-2006 06:18 PM

When I have to but I prefer to walk.
Once I walked 40 miles to New Braunfels from Austin.
It only took 16 hours.
I like to hoof it.

Bring me your finest sandwich described in exquisite detail!

Grasshopper Green 02-03-2006 09:05 PM

There is a place here in town that serves (or used to) a roast turkey, avocado, bacon, cranberry sauce, mustard, tomato, and lettuce on a bagel. I think if whole wheat, or possibly dark rye, were to be substituted that would be the world's most perfect sandwich. Excluding you of course, GH.

Do you have any superstitions?

777 02-03-2006 10:26 PM

Yes and no. I don't carry a rabbit's foot or knock on wood. But I do have some control over my own luck.

Coffee or Tea?

feelgood 02-03-2006 10:36 PM

Coffee, I hate tea. I only drank it twice, the first time, my grandmother took a pot of tea and put it in the fridge, few hours later, she put a whole wack of sugar in it and I tried it and it just absolutely taste horrible but I didn't tell her. The second time, was actually 2 weeks ago when I was hanging out with my classmates and it taste not good, not bad.

What is the largest aircraft you have been on?

Bill O'Rights 02-04-2006 07:45 AM

The NEACP (National Emergency Airborn Command Post), affectionatly refered to as the kneecap. It's a modified Boeing 747.

What is the one irreplacable item, that you've lost in you lifetime, do you regret the most. Virginity does not count. :D I'm talking tangible items, here.

Carno 02-04-2006 08:28 AM

Hmm, that's kinda hard to say, since I don't really put much value in possessions. They are just things. That being said, I was really pissed, and still am kinda bitter, about breaking my favorite surfboard. Split the damn thing in half. That thing rode like butter. Sure it was a little old and starting to yellow, but I preferred to think of it as "broken in."

fresnelly 02-04-2006 08:29 AM

We made a video of our newborn son on his first day home from the hospital (4 days old). He was just lying on the bed, completely calm, looking beautiful and fragile. Watching the video was almost a hypnotic experience. Somehow, the file has slipped away. We kept it on our camera for almost a year, but must have never saved it onto the computer. Losing it is a real shame

Have you ever hand crafted something that you're particularly proud of?

777 02-04-2006 09:16 AM

Back when I flirted with a possible career in electronics in the late 90s, I built a digital clock out of every part and wire and microchip in my tool box for a class project. I had a partner, but he wasn't much help. I spent a whole week on that thing, and even stayed after class each day to work on it. What I found odd was that the extra hour after class wasn't very productive. Anyway, we (meaning me) finished on time, and got an A. The coolest part of that project was that the counter starts at 00 when it's reset. I had trouble getting to skip 00:00 and go straight to 01:00 (for 1pm or 1am). So I rewired it to 24 time, which made 00:00 become midnight, and got extra credit for it!. It was the only 24 clock in the class.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Charlatan 02-04-2006 09:23 AM

I wanted to be an architect (just like Mike Brady).

What is the worst smell you've ever smelled?

Poppinjay 02-04-2006 09:51 AM

An old guy in Lowe's with his teen daughter let out a juicy, noisy fart. I would guess from his appearance and smell that he eats microwaved food exclusively and downs it with a quart of whiskey.

What are you going to do tonight?

777 02-04-2006 10:12 AM

The same thing we do every night PoppinJay. Try to take over the world! (Meaning: nothing)

The big game is tomorrow. Who are you putting your money on?

Grasshopper Green 02-04-2006 10:23 AM

I have never watched the "super dud" as Mal so eloquently put it..and I doubt I'll start tomorrow. I don't even know who is playing. I'll be busy doing other things, most likely recuperating from a party tonight :D

What is your favorite childhood memory?

shesus 02-04-2006 11:45 AM

My favorite childhood memory is when I got my first dog. I was so excited and she was so cute. My mom was not happy about getting a dog. So my dad snuck me out to get one while she was at work. My mom came in the door and looked at the puppy and groaned. The puppy peed on the floor and wagged its tail. I'm lucky I got to keep her.

What was your favorite subject in school?

feelgood 02-04-2006 12:04 PM

Social Studies, it was the only thing that was interesting for me, studying history you know?

What year was the most you've spent on any plane?

maleficent 02-04-2006 12:24 PM

2000-
i had 4 trips to australia (36 hours round trip x 4 = 144 hours)
5 trips to the UK (12 hours round trip x 5 = 60 hours)
20 trips to Chicago (6 hours round trip x 20 = 120 hours)
10 trips to DC (2 hours round trip x 10 = 20)

344 hours divided by 24 hours in a day = a little over 14 days...

so basically i spent 2 solid weeks on a plane... and that doesn't include the hours upon hours upon hours of waiting inthe airport...

2003, according to my expense records had 42 round trip flights to chicago

What's the longest plane trip you've been on

SecretMethod70 02-04-2006 12:43 PM

Nine hours, to Austria :)

What is your cooking 'specialty?'

Carno 02-04-2006 04:31 PM

What is your favorite band to listen to?

noodle 02-04-2006 04:54 PM

Right now, bjork, cause I'm worn out. Most recently, I've discovered the band, Self. Love it.

feelgood 02-04-2006 11:49 PM

What is the shortest trip you've made on a aircraft?

poundpuppy34 02-05-2006 12:31 AM

who was your first kiss?

Grasshopper Green 02-05-2006 12:28 PM

My husband :D

Although I had others kiss me, I never kissed anyone on the lips until him.

Do you like flying?

onodrim 02-05-2006 01:40 PM

Generally yes, the only part that ever bothers me at all is take off. My ears always hurt really bad for the first few minutes, but once that goes away I don't mind it at all.

What color ink do you prefer to write in?

feelgood 02-05-2006 02:04 PM

Black, easier to read

What is the shortest trip you've made on a aircraft?

Lucifer 02-06-2006 04:22 AM

Toronto, Ontario to Kingston, Ontario. The plane was a DASH-8, and it really did dash. The whole trip lasted 40 minutes, gate to gate. By the time the plane reached it's cruising altitude, we were ready to start our descent. On top of the fact that it was only $110 as opposed to $140 for a 3 hour train trip made it all the better.

are you getting tired of answering all these questions?

maleficent 02-06-2006 04:32 AM

Nope, some of the answers from others are interesting...

Do you indentify more with Oscar or Felix?

Charlatan 02-06-2006 05:02 AM

I am a little bit of both but I stray more to the Felix side of the equation. I think I might have a minor case of OCD.

Do you trim your nose and ear hair?

Fly 02-06-2006 05:14 AM

nope!!!!..............the wife does.......hahahahhahhaha

are you a cat person or a dog person?

Charlatan 02-06-2006 06:32 AM

While I have one of each, I think if it came down to it, I am a cat person (not that I don't love my dog).

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

maleficent 02-06-2006 06:37 AM

not recently - but yah - somewhere in my distant past... it was GOOOD too... :)

Ever see a grown man cry?

JustJess 02-06-2006 06:56 AM

Yep. It wasn't nice, either. Much prefer them naked.

Ever made a grown man/woman cry?

Lucifer 02-06-2006 07:09 AM

I just made my (now ex) girlfriend cry when i split up with her about 30 minutes ago. difficult situation, we've been living together for 2 years.

Which would you rather do: Change the kitty litter or pick up dog poop in a plastic baggie?

Charlatan 02-06-2006 07:14 AM

Neither... that's what kids are for. If I have to, I'd say litter... at least you don't have to use your hands.

How old were you when you had your first french kiss?

Lucifer 02-06-2006 07:18 AM

I was in Grade 8, how old is that? 12 or 13. What can I say? I'm a late bloomer. took me almost 10 years to lose my virginity.

How old were you when you lost yours?

JustJess 02-06-2006 07:29 AM

15.

Any regrets about losing your virginity? Any regrets you can share?

Charlatan 02-06-2006 07:30 AM

I was 14. This freaks me out when I realize my son is 11.

What was the weirdest haircut you've ever had?

maleficent 02-06-2006 07:32 AM

I'm showing my age here... When Dorothy Hamil was the bees knees of figure skating, everyone wanted her haircut-- inclulding my mother to want me to have it.. .Now a wedge haircut is cute.. but not when you have naturally curly hair and it just turns out looking like a giant afro that sticks out of the back of my headl... I never have been able to pull off cute.. it never quite had that Short and Sassy look that the shampoo bottles promised...

What's the strangest color you've ever had your haire

Charlatan 02-06-2006 07:38 AM

Strangest colour was black (for a play where I played a Spaniard - Lorca's Blood Wedding).

Jess: occasionally I have regrets about the seediness of it all but not really. I'm jest glad I got it out of the way.

What would you say is the coolest outfit you've worn (at the time) but now would make you cringe?

Lucifer 02-06-2006 07:46 AM

When i was younger, I was quite the fashionable dude (in my mind), and I had this pair of shorts. They were white, very heavy cotton, had a complicated set of buckles and a really wide waist. They hung to my knees, and I thought they were the coolest thing ever! I've still got them in a box somewhere, and every so often, I pull them out and look at them, but I don't fit into them anymore and I don't think I could pull off the look.

what is the longest term paper you've ever written? (as I write the proposal for my 10,000 word thesis)

feelgood 02-06-2006 09:08 AM

A 203 pages, 14,964 words user manual completed with figures, index, reference, appendix. Oh Term paper! It'll have to be 9 pages, 2,100 words paper on the evaluation of ERP systems

Are you disappointed with the final score of the superbowl game?

JustJess 02-06-2006 09:18 AM

YES. *grumble* Wow, I'm so disappointed I forgot to post a question!

Do you have a favorite shoe? What brand and why?

maleficent 02-07-2006 04:52 AM

I like my hush puppy mocassins - they are a dark purple/blue/brown suede and vanilla scented... they are oh so very comfortable... and well they don't smell like feet... (personally though, shoes are pretty high on the list of things that I hate... shoes are evil...)

Do you drink your morning beverage out of a paper cup, styrofoam, ceramic, plastic..... and what is it?

Bill O'Rights 02-07-2006 05:07 AM

Ceramic Coffee mug. Reads; Instant Human. Just Add Coffee.

look 90 degrees to your left. What do you see?

Carno 02-07-2006 06:50 AM

Well.... I see my wall, my snowboard, one of my speakers, a wall socket and a cable tv connection. I can also kinda see part of a poster I have hanging up.

What was the scariest thing that has ever happened to you while you were in an aircraft, or in other words, when were you most frightened, and what caused it?

maleficent 02-07-2006 07:10 AM

I was on a flight years ago -- Eastern Airlines was the carrier which shows how long ago it was - and there was some problem with the landing gear - -as i'm sitting on the plane hearing it go up and down... but never quite all the way down... Pilot comes on the PA, and says there's a problem with the landing gear- they're going to circle the airport while.... soemthing i never heard... checks it out. (Actually circling to dump fuel was my guess)

after an hour of that -- pilot says, that they are going to attempt landing on an emergency runway... and assume the crash position (again, showing how long ago, this was when the flight attendents would actually demonstrate that) as my head is going down to kiss my ass goodbye, I couldn't help but notice all the fire engines onthe runway... I'm hearing peope in the back crying... and praying.. the person next to me looked at me and said he was sorry he didn't talk to me... I joked back - ok buy me a drink when we land...

rockiest landing ever... the old joke about did we land or were we shot down applied...

I was so proud of myself - never once did I panic.. never once did I lose my cool... I figured.. if it was my time to go - it was my time to go.. .and hesitated for about 5 seconds on the return trip - but - -eh - if it's my time to go - it's my time... :)

What's been your most serious car accident

feelgood 02-07-2006 08:41 AM

A friend "distracted" me while driving down this street and it was late at night and I ran into the back of a car that was stopped at a light. Suffice to say, the truck took the worse of it while the car got away with detacted wing.

Do you have a tattoo? What is it?

JustJess 02-07-2006 09:10 AM

Yes! A circular celtic knot on my left shoulder.

If you don't have a tattoo, why not? What would you get if you got one?

maleficent 02-07-2006 09:24 AM

No tattoos because giving blood is entirely too important and if you have a tattoo get put in the can't donate list for a while.... a long while..

there's nothing I like enough to want ot have it permanently put on myself... Like the old saying goes - i can't commit to along distance carrier - how do you expect me to commit to a tattoo...

What color undies do you have on today...

Crack 02-07-2006 09:55 AM

Blue, I am a big fan of the boxer-briefs, snug.. yet covering..

Would you like a cup of coffee?

JustJess 02-07-2006 09:58 AM

Yes, but I'm refraining. I've already had a triple shot of espresso today. :|

What do you really like to do when it rains outside?

SirLance 02-07-2006 10:02 AM

Sleep. For some reason, rain makes me sleepy.

What extremely romantic thing are you doing for your S/O on Valentine's Day?

Bill O'Rights 02-07-2006 10:26 AM

IHOP, and a pair of slippers.
I have a feeling that I may be single again, by this time next year. ;)
J/K (about the IHOP and slippers part)

What type of watch do you wear? Analog or digital? Strap band, or expand-o-flex?

maleficent 02-07-2006 10:30 AM

currently this is my watch- because it makes people like twice..

http://www.1uhr.de/uhren/STGK101_lg.jpg

Yes the bunnies are being very naughty...

I normally wear a very plain movado watch - black face, black strap, no numbers - I hate numbers on my watch - but that watch got misplaced when I moved... (It was on my nightstand when the movers arrived by the time i got into my bedroom, it wasn't there anymore... :(

What do you carry your belongings in to and from work or school?

Poppinjay 02-07-2006 10:31 AM

My coat pockets, occasionally a leather portfolio, sometimes a grocery stor ebag.

What's the worst place you've ever lived?

Charlatan 02-07-2006 10:32 AM

I carry them in a black MEC knapsack.http://images.mec.ca/media/Images/Pr...9830536614.jpg .

The shoulder straps can fold away so it becomes a briefcase... It also has padding for my laptop.

Edit: The worst place I have ever lived... it was an apartment in the depths of Scarborough (Mornell Court for those who know the area). It was nice when we moved in but 8 years later, not so much. One night, there was a murder in the building and the murderer committed suicide in stairwell not 10 minutes after I had just walked my 10 year old self down the stairwell.

We were happy to move.

How far do you live from work and how long is your commute?

SirLance 02-07-2006 10:35 AM

26 miles, 30 minutes.

What is your primary means of transportation?

Charlatan 02-07-2006 10:38 AM

Either public transit or my Vespa.

Where do you live and where do you work: rural, suburban or urban? And did where you work effect where you choose to live?

SirLance 02-07-2006 10:43 AM

I live in one suburban area and work in another. We chose where we live because it split the difference between commutes, and now that my wife has changed jobs, we'll likely be moving again.

What teacher did you have a crush on in high-school, and why?

Bill O'Rights 02-07-2006 11:22 AM

Miss Noreen J. Tighe, Biology...because she was young and pretty, and and and...yeeeaah...

When is the last time that you colored in a coloring book?

maleficent 02-07-2006 11:31 AM

Last night... I have a bunch of coloring books - -they are for adults - and very cool -the one I am currently coloring has garden fairies and the paper is kind of transparent so you can see thru on the other side what you are doing and hang it in the window.. I can barely stay in the lines doing that - but it's about my only artisitic endeavor...

What Mal is Coloring

What is your artistic endeavor...

Poppinjay 02-07-2006 11:33 AM

I keep going to Michaels and looking at canvases. I want to paint in the worst way.

Unfortunately, I do.

When was the last time you caught a fish, and ate it?

Bill O'Rights 02-07-2006 04:05 PM

Year and years and years ago. When it comes to fishing, I'm strictly catch and release. I hate cleaning fish. If I wanna eat fish...well, that's why there's a grocery store.

I just built a time machine. You can go anywhere in time, with a 5 year margin of error. However, the power that it takes to operate it will destroy it, seconds after you are gone, rendering it useless for more than one trip. There will be no return. Do you go forward in time, or backward? When, in time do you go? Why?

Grasshopper Green 02-07-2006 04:44 PM

I'd probably go to the sixties...I've always loved the music from then, and I've always been fascinated with the culture of the times.

Plus, I'm too used to my modern conveniences like electricity and running water (hot is nice!) to go back too far.

BTW, mal, now I want one of those coloring books.

What one thing would you change about your high school experience, and why?

uncle phil 02-07-2006 05:09 PM

i would have lightened the gowns by about 30 pounds...

from where was the first animal jettisoned?

Fly 02-07-2006 07:45 PM

a canon..............

what is your favorite colour of other peoples eyes?

onodrim 02-07-2006 07:57 PM

I've always had a thing for green eyes, it's unique and one of my favorite colors in general.

What's your favorite letter of the alphabet? :p

yellowchef 02-07-2006 07:57 PM

Green or hazel.

what is your favorite part of your partners(or crush, booty call or hook up) body?

777 02-07-2006 11:55 PM

Long legs or dark wavy hair (preferablly both).

How did you find the Tilted Forum Project?

yellowchef 02-08-2006 12:55 AM

an online chat friend

hamburgers or hot dogs?

maleficent 02-08-2006 04:49 AM

Hamburgers.. cooked rare, with some worcesteshire sauce and blue cheese melted on top...

and since no one answered Ono's question... My favorite letter of the alphabet is the letter Q -- because in high school literature course, I got called to the board to write the letter Q in cursive -because I, apparantly, was the only one who knew how to do it.. .:) (I hate attention, but that was cool)

Are you an attention whore or a wallflower? Why? (and yes, they are extremes, but you have to pick one)

Carno 02-08-2006 05:33 AM

I used to be really introverted, and although I've become more extroverted in the last few years, I still am more of a wallflower. I never really felt like I fit in with people, and to an extent I still don't think I do.

What is the longest distance you have run non-stop?

Charlatan 02-08-2006 05:56 AM

Probably a couple times around the track in high school... I hate running. I love riding my bicycle though...

What do you do for exercise?

Lucifer 02-08-2006 06:09 AM

I like kickboxing, but it's hard to get motivated these days.

what's the longest distance you've driven?

fresnelly 02-08-2006 06:21 AM

13,500k+ We drove from Toronto up to Whitehorse, down to Yellowstone Park, and then Back to Toronto over a 6week period. Did I mention we had our 7month old in the back at the time? Best Road Trip ever. I've also driven a lot while on tour, and I kind of enjoy it. Having good company and regular stopping points is key.

Have you seen anything bizarre this week?

maleficent 02-08-2006 10:46 AM

Yes... I just walked into the ladies room, not a solo stall, but it had 4 stalls, and I noticed a pile of neatly folded clothes on the counter near the sink... I washed my hands and as i start to leave, this woman comes out of one of the stalls, bareassed naked... not a freakin' stitch of clothing on... and gets her pile of clothes, says nothing to me, and walks into the handicapped stall, to get dressed I imagine... She was alone in the first stall she came out of - I just honestly wasnt aware that peeing or pooping was a naked activity... call me crazy...

What causes you to lose your patience..

shadowfiend 02-08-2006 11:52 AM

When someone accuses me of something I did not do. That's what pisses me off. I know sometimes it's just a small matter and I shouldn't overreact to it, but then again each and every time it happens I just can't keep my temper. I think it's just me.

What's the thing that makes your day ?

feelgood 02-08-2006 12:05 PM

Rarely anything, it'll probably have to be outwitting and outsmarting somebody in my job.

What was the weridest thing you've ever experienced as a child?

Charlatan 02-08-2006 12:08 PM

It was when I was a Boy Scout... I had an old man follow me around one day while I was working at the Canadian National Exhibition, commenting on how cute I was in my uniform. Very, very creepy pedophile vibe.

Do you own any sex toys? If yes, how many and what are they? If no, why not?

Poppinjay 02-08-2006 12:14 PM

With all the furniture in there and what not, I figured you all sat around naked and had tea or relations or someething. The mysteries of a ladies room..

re: sex toy, just my hand and my spouse. I'm not much for cramming stuff up there or leather.

Do you have a favorite pen?

maleficent 02-08-2006 12:23 PM

furinture = 4 toilets, 2 sinks, a paper towel dispenser and a tampon dispenser... where ya gonna serve tea?

did I just reveal a secret of the sisterhood that i'm not supposed toreveal.. :) THAT'S why girls go to the bathroom in pairs - so they can get nekkid and do whatever... :)

feelgood 02-08-2006 12:30 PM

Mal, you continue to surprise me ;)

Yes, I do have a favorite pen, I can't tell you the info about it since it has no supplier information on it. But I can that once in awhile, I tend to steal some of those from supply cabinet and there's only one unlocked cabinet in the entire building that noone is aware of :D

Do you tip? How do you calculate your tip size?

Poppinjay 02-08-2006 12:34 PM

three times tax, loosely.

I wish I were tipping tonight. I don't want to have dinner at home. Where can we go to watch the game?

maleficent 02-08-2006 12:34 PM

Yup I tip... unless service is abysmal, or i will never be back in that restaurant, i generally tip 20 percent on food, and if there's a bottle of wine or so ordered, i will generally tip 10 percent on the cost of the wine... It requires a bit of calcuation ... but I can handle it... in starbucks, since i hate carrying around change -- the change goes into the tip jar ... building management I grudgingly tip at christmas -- just in case i need something done thru out the year...

Do you volunteer your time at all?

feelgood 02-08-2006 12:44 PM

Home is the best place to watch the game, its the only place where you can get smashed without having to worry about getting a ride home ;) But if we're really talking about other places, there's a bar in the town where I live called Wildfire, it's not too elaborate compared to those in Calgary but it's quiet and it's got a nice large screen.

I used to volunteer my time with the mustard seed but that was a few years ago when I worked for a computer cable company. I also did some junior varsity basketball managing back in high school but I haven't really done much in the past few years in volunteering because of my busy busy schedule.

What is the range of age of men/women you would date?

Toaster126 02-08-2006 02:35 PM

18-28. If I did anything with someone older than that, I don't think it would be called "dating". :) Too much of a difference in life situation for me. For the record, I'm 22.

What made your favorite teacher your favorite?

feelgood 02-08-2006 03:52 PM

He was the odd one. Other teachers would stick to the lesson plan, be monogrameous and never had fun with their students but this particular one, he makes the learning experience a bit more fun. In fact, one thing I remember particularly about him in that area was when he showed us how to memorize the names of the prime ministers in order, he made up a story for us to remember that started out as going to mcdonalds for lunch. He also would let us debate him on the correctness of his teaching materials.

What kind of watch do you wear?

Grasshopper Green 02-08-2006 04:23 PM

I have slender wrists and it's difficult for me to find a watch that fits, so I've never worn one.

Have you ever flown in a hot air balloon. If not, would you like to?

Nooooooooooo! Afraid of heights. Almost pass out. I think I did once as a kid with my parents. Not sure if it's a memory or a nightmare.

Why do hot dogs come in packs of 10 and hot dog buns in packs of 8?

maleficent 02-09-2006 04:43 AM

Because it's a great conspiracy enacted to get people to spend more money than they should... I personally thing that Bush is behind it -- or maybe Cheney and his pals at Halliburton -- Oh wait - it's the entire Republican party doing it because after all -- we know they are evil money grubbers.... Actually, I think it's one more place where there's a lack of communication... The Hot dog maker and the bun maker used to be married - maybe they still are... and well.. they don't talk much anymore- because they could't come to a happy medium of say packages of 9....

Pit bulls

painting: Watercolours or oils?

Poppinjay 02-09-2006 08:08 AM

I like to see both, if the watercolor is really done right and not some pastel mood crap. And I think pit bulls are cute, if they haven't been turned mean.

<-rescued pit bull, cops involved, threats from neighbor who was fighting them... yeah I lived in the rural south.
