feelgood 01-27-2006 10:00 PM

Meat and Potato, I'm an Albertan for god's sake!!

What's the fastest that a good situation went to absolute worst for you? Explain

777 01-29-2006 10:34 AM

Let's see, last Friday was a day to look forward to. Was going to have lunch with a business contact and possiblly close a deal, and had a date planned with this hot brunette.

Well, my business contact flacked, the gal wasn't very affectionate (NG refers to her as Miss Ice), and to top off the crappy day, my car was impounded by the cops that night.

When it comes to eating out, do you perfer corporate chains (Sizzlar, TGIF, Chilli's) or small family owned restaurants?

feelgood 01-29-2006 10:46 AM

Corporate, because they can afford to pay higher quality chefs.

How many women did you have sex with, within the last year? What were their age?

Bill O'Rights 01-29-2006 11:18 AM

Lucifer 01-29-2006 12:38 PM

when was the last time you washed your underwear? Do you wear underwear?

Bill O'Rights 01-30-2006 06:10 AM

Yesterday. Yes (otherwise...why wash them ;) )

Turn 90 degrees to your right, look at eye level. What do you see?

Charlatan 01-30-2006 06:12 AM

I see the flowers I bought my wife for the 18th anniversary of our first date.

Do you have a front loading washer or a top loading washer? Where did you get it and why?

fresnelly 01-30-2006 06:22 AM

We have a top loader, which came with the house. My wife did just by a front loader for her studio because they are more energy efficienct. She got it at Home depot because it was close by and they offered delivery.

Do you ever go outside in your pajamas? Even just to get the mail or put out the trash?

Fly 01-30-2006 06:26 AM

i live in my jammies man.....soooooo comfortable.

i feed the animals and tidy the farm in them all the time.

my buddies think i'm a fuckin' wing nut.

is there a dishwasher in your house?

Fly 01-30-2006 06:26 AM

and i don't mean your wife either.

Charlatan 01-30-2006 06:39 AM

Flyman... you are a wingnut (but you know that already).

Yes, we have a dishwasher. I hate (no... HATE) washing dishes.)

maleficent 01-30-2006 07:00 AM

I'm ticked off beyond belief... What's your mood right now...

BigBen 01-30-2006 07:10 AM

Impending doom...

I am walking into a meeting at 1000, and I am not sure if I should go armed or not.

Do you have any scars? How'd you get them?

maleficent 01-30-2006 07:21 AM

I have a 4 inch scar on my left forearm from where I was attacked by a rottweiller
I have a 2 inch scar on the bottom of my right foot from where i stepped on a toothpick in 4th grade (and ended up in the hospital for 10 days with blood poinsoning because xrays never showed the toothpick (it wa right up against the bone) and the doctor didn't beleive it was still in my foot - -surgery proved him wrong)
I have a 2 inch scar on the right side of my head, from my retail days, I bent down to pick up something and came up and my head collided with the blade of the shade cutting machine.. (fucking ouch)
Two very small scars on my right knee from two different bouts of arthroscopic surgery.

How do you deal with anger?

Daoust 01-30-2006 07:31 AM

I supress it. Push it way down... or I curse. or I punch inanimate objects like walls. I am not very good at letting my anger out. I'm too mild mannered.

What motivates you? And whatever it is, do you think it's normal?

Lucifer 01-30-2006 08:50 AM

yes, but I'm too embarassed to admit to it here. Ok, I admit a grudging fascination with anything Brittany Spears sings.

not much motivates me, other than the thought of making more money

maleficent 01-30-2006 01:10 PM

Since Lucifer didn't ask a question and answered too.. I guess he was struck dead on the spot by admitting to bopping around his living room to Britney Spears... like tom cruise did in risky buisness to OldTime rock n Roll.... Ooops he did again... i need sandpaper to remove that visual from my brain now :)

Nezmot's question... What motiviates?

i wishI could say Love, but it's been so long since i've had anything resembling that in my life - I'm torn between money and the need to survive and the need to help others where i can... but realistically it's money...

what are you wearing on your feet right now?

Bill O'Rights 01-30-2006 01:24 PM

Nuns Bush casual shoes, over tan socks.

What are your plan for superbowl sunday?

Poppinjay 01-30-2006 02:00 PM

maleficent 01-30-2006 02:25 PM

tenderloin, seared on an open fire, studded with garlic, and some fresh ground sea salt and black pepper on top... served nice and rare... with maybe some garlic roasted taters on the side... Why? because beef is good food... I'm not a fan of prime rib.. .too fatty for me.. and london broil is good, but tenderloin is better... it's more tender...

Who would be your favorite person to go out drinkin' with... :)

Do you have houseplants? If so, how do you manage to not kill them?

shesus 01-30-2006 06:40 PM

I tried house plants. I always killed them. Even those vines that everyone says are indestructable. I tried violets because they were pretty, killed those too. I definitely do not have a green thumb. However, in my classroom the kids planted seeds. Only one is showing any growth...it's probably my bad luck :(

Would you rather have your picture taken or take the pictures?

feelgood 01-30-2006 07:15 PM

Back in elementary school, did you have a personal tormenter? How would you confront him/her today?

Carno 01-31-2006 07:52 PM

Yes I did, and his name was Trey. He was a grade higher (fifth or sixth I think) than me and he used to try and beat me up during recess. In many ways that formed me into the person that I am today. I'll never forget his name, but I would not confront him, given the chance. He wouldn't be worth a second glance.

Back in elementary school, did you have a personal tormenter? How would you confront him/her today?

feelgood 01-31-2006 09:43 PM

Yeah, name was Reese Short, and I would punch the fucker if I met him today

If somebody was about to kill you and was distract for a min and you look over to a table nearby you and there's a handgun and a rifle, which one would you pick?

robbdn 01-31-2006 10:36 PM

Thanks for that great question, I've actually given a lot of thought to this situation. The biggest question here, imho, is how close the attacker is to my person. Is the attacker intent on causing harm with a melee weapon, or at close range with a firearm? If yes, then definitely the hand gun. Is the attacker at a distance, trying to kill me with throwing stars and crossbow bolts? Then, definitely the rifle. Totally sweet.

How do you feel about your job/work?

maleficent 02-01-2006 03:44 AM

While it's got it's moments... and I'm in desperate need of a long vacation... I love my job... It's challenging, it's interesting, I work with some great people (some pains in the arses too), but most days it's fun... Hell - I have nothing else so I better like it...

How many electrohic gadgets do you have-- what are they... do you use them on a regular basis? did you get it because all your friends had one or because you though it wouldbe useful... and is it?

BigBen 02-01-2006 06:34 AM

Palm Pilot
MP3/Flash Disk/FM radio/Voice recorder
Cell Phone
Another flash disk

I got all of these things because I experienced a need, and this technology filled that need. I don't buy things (besides beer) because all of my friends had one...

Whoops, forgot a question:

What is the thing in your life that is most on your mind these days? Why?

Charlatan 02-01-2006 06:44 AM

My job is the most on my mind these days. I have a to make a report in a week about where this position is going and honestly, I think it's going nowhere. Do I tell the truth and get out of a job or do I stay mum and lose my self respect?

Add to this, the job interview I had last week... It woudl be a great job, if I get it. But it's in Singapore.

Careers are complicated.

I can't go because of work and funds :( , but then I'll have the place to myself for a week with no parental responsibilities. :)

Do you ever take notice of the lighting at concerts or shows?

maleficent 02-01-2006 08:36 AM

Always... back in high school and college, i was really involved in the backstage workings of the theater.. .mainly in costume design and makeup, but lighting was always interesting. because how just the lighting could make the costumes and makeup look either outstanding or really crappy.. it was really neat... plus the lighting guys were a fun group to hangout with...

How do you feel about fritos?

What song, from any era, can bring literal tears to your eyes, every time that you hear it?

Charlatan 02-01-2006 08:43 AM

I don't have feelings for Fritos... but their corniness does grace my lips from time to time (just not for the past several years).

EDIT: I tear up at the drop of a hat... seriously. I hate it. I watch TV and it makes me tear up. Music, there are few songs that make me tear up.

If you could be doing anything right now, what would that be?

fresnelly 02-01-2006 08:51 AM

Sitting in a cabin up north, staring into a roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate in my hand.

If you could be doing anything else right now, what would that be?

Poppinjay 02-01-2006 09:46 AM

I don't know, the mug and the cabin up north sounds pretty damn good.

I'd be in Nags Head, eating oysters.

If you could be doing anything else right now, why aren't you?

Grasshopper Green 02-01-2006 05:05 PM

One word...money. If I had my druthers I'd be traveling right now :)

What is the ugliest piece of clothing you have ever worn?

maleficent 02-01-2006 05:07 PM

feelgood 02-01-2006 05:11 PM

When I watch that I am Canadian commerical

Would you jerk it on a busy highway?

Charlatan 02-01-2006 05:15 PM

If motivated, I will jerk it just about anywhere...

When I say, "Canada" what is the first thing that pops into your head? (Mal, if you answer this you can't say beefcake).

fresnelly 02-01-2006 05:19 PM

What?!? Good lord no. I can't imagine how driving on a clogged expressway could possibly inspire me to whip it out and uh, "handle my stick shift".

Edit: late

The first thing that popped into my head when I read your question, was Pop Tarts.

When I think Canada I think of our wilderness.

What's your commute to work like?

Charlatan 02-01-2006 05:22 PM

Depends... on my Vespa it is fun and carefree... On the streetcar I get a lot of reading done... I actually like my commute regardless of the mode of transportation.

If you could be a character in any movie, what would you choose and why?

Grasshopper Green 02-01-2006 06:54 PM

Scarlett O'Hara. She has traits that I wish I had...she goes after what she wants, has loads of self confidence, and she can make a set of curtains look fantastic
Sure, she also steals other people's husbands, marries people she doesn't love, and is a poor mother...but hey, we all have our faults.

What is your favorite Disney movie?

777 02-01-2006 10:55 PM

Have you ever consulted a Magic 8-ball for guidance?

If you believed in god(s), would there be more than one?

Jack1.0 02-02-2006 01:16 AM

Have you ever worn a cape?

Bill O'Rights 02-02-2006 05:39 AM

Yes. I used to portray a vampire, in a local "Haunted House", for charity. Still have the cape, as it was a "real" one, and not a $3.99 one at K-Mart.

You invite six people over for a dinner party (living people). You can invite anyone. Who are they, and why?

feelgood 02-02-2006 07:13 AM

Paddyjoe - Because I know I'll get a kick out of watching him piss flyman off

How would you explain to your future children about 9/11?

Poppinjay 02-02-2006 07:18 AM

I'm not sure it needs to be said. I'm still not quite sure I comprehend it. When they get old enough, I'll have them read Art Spiegelman's book on the subject(In The Shadow Of No Towers). That's the best explanation I've come across. i highly highly highly recommend it.

Have you read it?

Charlatan 02-02-2006 07:25 AM

I have a copy sitting on the shelf in my kitchen... yes I've read it and so has my son.

Have you ever shopped at a five and dime, that was actually called a five and dime? (Do you know what a five and dime is?)

feelgood 02-02-2006 07:25 AM

No, I don't think I need a book to find out what happened on 9/11.

What does it take to motivate you?

wolf 02-02-2006 07:50 AM

Coffee.... lots and lots of coffee.

Do you think World Peace will ever be attained?

feelgood 02-02-2006 08:17 AM

Yeah but it'll take the opposite of world peace to achieve it. It worked for both of world wars but it wasn't enough thou

How do you think world peace oughta be achieved?

maleficent 02-02-2006 08:25 AM

Annihilate everyone, except for the list of people who I genuinely like and maybe puppy or two...

(it'd be a very short list, but world peace would achieved)

and since Charlatan's question got ignored...

Have you ever shopped in a five and dime... (I have, Woolworth's but nothing was ever five or ten cents..)

maleficent 02-02-2006 09:24 AM

Crap I forgot a question....

You're asked to be a tourguide of your fine city... The person that you are showing around, has never been to your city before, in fact, has never been to earth before, but they do speak and understand your language... What are some things you'd show them about your city, and about earth... (no five word answers here please...be creative)

Poppinjay 02-02-2006 10:29 AM

My city.... hmm. I barely know it myself, so I'd show them Old Town Alexandria and point out the history of how it played a vital role in the forming of our government. From there, you can see the Washington Monument and capital, so I wouldn't need to actually go into DC.

Earth, I'd take them to Shackleford Banks in North Carolina to show that we do have the ability to preserve an eco-system instead of building 20 story resort hotels. Then I'd take them to Myrtle Beach to show them the opposite of the spectrum - how greed and sex sell so well and make a naturally beautiful area the nation's white trash ashtray.

Carno 02-02-2006 04:21 PM

I'll start the questions again:

How do you react when someone breaks up with you? (i.e. flash of anger then sadness, etc..)

noodle 02-02-2006 04:57 PM

I get very sad and cry for a long time. The really deep, full body sobs to be honest. Then rip-roaring-I'm-going-to-rip-your-balls-off angry. Then I squelch that and go back to being sad. Then I journal or talk it out. Then I take a deep breath and keep putting one foot in front of the other. and eat sushi and drink beer with my girlfriends. :D

along the same lines...
How did the last breakup you had go? Was it a blow up, freeze out, or mutual walk-away?

edit for my dang spelling AGAIN!

maleficent 02-02-2006 05:24 PM

The fella in question rated a mention in the 50 boyfriends worse than yours thread-- let's just say my heart got ripped out of my chest, broken into a bazillion tiny pieces and tossed in the ocean... The breakup itself was quiet... But I should have suffocated him, it would have been good therapy...

How do you deal with heartbreak?

Carno 02-02-2006 05:38 PM

I usually just hide it away from people. I don't like to show those emotions, so I usually act normal around everyone; like I didn't care too much. I usually try to be alone as much as possible, and do physical activity. Lets me get rid of stress and get my mind off things. I used to get really angry, but I have learned that that is stupid so now I try not to let that happen. I don't like to talk to people about it though, I like to keep it to myself. I have to cut off all contact with the thing that caused the heartbreak too.

How do you deal with heartbreak?

maleficent 02-03-2006 10:20 AM

Lesson learned: Don't give you heart out -and it can't be broken... :( Ah - the easiest way to deal wiht heartbreak is time... and something to keep your mind off of it so you don't obsess over it... New hobbies are good...

Chapstick or Blistex for those chapped lips?

Grasshopper Green 02-03-2006 10:26 AM

Are you allergic to anything?

Bill O'Rights 02-03-2006 10:37 AM

Ragweed, shrimp, lobster, crab...that's about it, I think.

When is the last time that you dressed up to go anywhere...formal? Weddings don't count.

Poppinjay 02-03-2006 10:47 AM

My wife's office holiday party at the Ritz Carlton, black tie event, but I wore a silver tie.

MY office party was at some bar and grill named Clyde's. Obviously my wife makes more bank than I do.

What was your favorite radio station as a kid?

fresnelly 02-03-2006 11:12 AM

I didn't really listen to the radio until around the age of 12 when a friend introduced me to Led Zeppelin. After that, I listened exclusively to Q107, a classic rock station. Over my teen years and 20's I listened to that and other rock stations. A couple of years ago though, I reached my breaking point with classic rock. I just don't need to hear Supertramp or Heart ever again. Now, besides standup comedy stations on the internet, I listen to CBC public radio and classical with occasional forays into alt-rock.

Do you know anyone who as ever appeared on American Idol?

feelgood 02-03-2006 11:25 AM

JustJess 02-03-2006 11:46 AM

What sport would you like to be good at?

uncle phil 02-03-2006 12:57 PM

do birds in the trees whisper "louise?"

fresnelly 02-03-2006 01:14 PM
