JustJess 01-19-2006 11:34 AM

Smell. I would miss it, but I'd live without it. Especially considering the bombs my cats leave me sometimes in the litter box. Heh.

What was your best day in 2005-2006?

Poppinjay 01-19-2006 12:42 PM

Being informed my station won the Outstanding News Operation award from the Associated Press for the second year in a row.

What is the most interesting thing you learned in school?

uncle phil 01-19-2006 01:39 PM

/me learned that there were, and i presume still are, a LOT of horny women out there...

SirLance 01-19-2006 01:49 PM

Edit, not fast enough.

Reagan, without a doubt.

Do you use an appointment book, a PDA, or your head to keep your calendar?

MojoRisin 01-19-2006 01:53 PM

It's all in my head.

You wake up one morning and find yourself in the middle of a desert, you don't know where you are but you know you've never been here. You walk for five minutes seeing nothing but sand and sky when a jeep driven by Osama Bin Laden and a few of his companions pulls up behind you. One of them can speak english and offers you a ride, what do you do?

Lucifer 01-19-2006 04:31 PM

Take it, I'm Canadian and he doesn't hate us!

If you could eat just one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Astrocloud 01-19-2006 04:38 PM

Oh that's easy -Human Breast Milk. Because it's most nurishing.

What color are your sleeper jammies? Do you ever wear them outside?

Lucifer 01-19-2006 04:42 PM

Is the apocolypse coming? When? How?

noodle 01-19-2006 06:16 PM

Yes. But not the religious one. We're all going to explode when some small child finds the ring on the atomic grenade and blows us all to heck.
In about 28 days... six hours... 42 minutes... 12 seconds, Donnie.

Do you believe we actually got the "real" Saddam? How many doubles were there really anyway?

fresnelly 01-19-2006 07:25 PM

Yeah. The imposters only look convincing in telephoto lenses and Satellite photos. Whether they actually found him in that hole is a question for Tilted Paranoia.

Have you broken your New Year's Resolutions yet?

Lucifer 01-19-2006 08:34 PM

Hey! what happened to my question above about the UN?

Daoust 01-20-2006 04:06 AM

Lucifer: No, and no.

What were you doing at 8:07 a.m. this morning when I wrote this?

maleficent 01-20-2006 05:22 AM

Several, best sellers all, if only I could tell them.

What is your favorite cookie?

maleficent 01-20-2006 08:22 AM

too slow

Cookie - My homemade lemon bars.... or snickerdoodles

If you could write a book about anything - what would the topic be?

fresnelly 01-20-2006 09:08 AM

An engaging mystery, revolving around a long hidden treasure in the heart of a major metropolis, such as Chicago or New York. Adolescent perhaps, but exploring the history, architecture and culture of a storied city in this way would be fascinating.

Furthermore, there would be absolutely no focus on religion, secret societies and the fantastical. Instead, the city itself would be explored through an obfuscating web of beaurocracy, landlords and tenants, ethnic tension, and regular folk just trying to get through their day. Sort of a cross between Chinatown, Law and Order, and The Goonies

What are your plans this weekend?

maleficent 01-20-2006 09:10 AM

laundry, grocery shopping, a little house cleaning, probably a dozen hours of work, lamenting the fact that I have absolutely no life, taking out the trash

Wanna come over and play?

Daoust 01-20-2006 09:13 AM

Mal, I would looooooooove to come over and play with you and here are my reasons.

1. You come across as being somewhat lonely and a little under the weather and I'd love to cheer you up.

2. With the aforementioned taken into consideration, with your own confession of being without sex for some time, I'd love to give you the man love you're clearly wanting and needing

3. I'd love to taste your snickerdoodles...if you know what I mean.

Question: Do you know what I mean?

fresnelly 01-20-2006 09:13 AM

Sure!

Do you have a Ping Pong table?

Daoust 01-20-2006 09:14 AM

No. But I do have the boardgame RISK...

What's your favourite board game?

Charlatan 01-20-2006 09:15 AM

I don't have room for a ping pong table. But my Mom has one in the basement of her house.

Damn too slow.

My favourite board game is currently Risk. Though I am also a fan of Sorry. I kick ass at Sorry.

Describe the shoes you are wearing right now. Assuming you can tell all about someone by the shoes they wear, what do your shoes say about you?

Sultana 01-20-2006 11:07 AM

Red Timberlands, look rather like bowling shoes. Well-worn.
They say that I am stylish, fun, yet comfortable. ;P

What TFP-er would you most like to meet, and why?

Poppinjay 01-20-2006 11:21 AM

If I were single I'd have a tough time choosing, but the why would be onefold - teh sex.

So, either Aberkok to hear him perform, or maybe BigBen to listen to the military stories or Maleficent to see if she really drinks that much coffee.

How do you like your eggs?

Lucifer 01-20-2006 11:38 AM

Over easy. Not too runny and not too solid.

Ever have fantasies about a tfp'er and who it is?

Charlatan 01-20-2006 11:38 AM

I like my eggs either over easy or in an omlette...

Sultana: comfortable? hmmmmm....

Damn it... too late.

There are a few women on the TFP that I fantasize about... there is no need to name names. :o

Have you ever been put in an uncomfortable position by having to answer a difficult question?

MojoRisin 01-20-2006 11:48 AM

Ummm...Ummm...UmMmM.... *runs away*

True or False: Money is the root of all evil.. explain.

BigBen 01-20-2006 12:12 PM

Patently false.

Money is simply a bartering tool. Greed on the other hand...

Have you ever dialed 867-5309 to see who would answer?

Poppinjay 01-20-2006 12:20 PM

No, but that song was on the radio as I came back from lunch today.

Ahhhh, the 80's.

What is the most difficult technical thing you've ever done.

fresnelly 01-20-2006 12:20 PM

No, because I don't like prank phone calls. Check out the Snopes article on the phone number:

http://www.snopes.com/music/songs/8675309.asp

Edit: Too slow

Right now I'm working on a 3D Autocad drawing that's pretty tough. It's a section of circular aluminum truss. I'm trying to draft an internal skeleton of the frame but the original was drawn as a solid object, rather than a line drawing. This means it has no snap points and I have to constanstly change the viewing plane to match the cross members and draw a ridiculous amount of construction lines. Many, Many steps.

Are there any household chores that you secretly enjoy?

Charlatan 01-20-2006 12:31 PM

I like cleaning the kitchen. I am a bit obessive about it.

Have you ever made a crank phone call? Details.

Lucifer 01-20-2006 03:24 PM

when I was in high school, some friends and I called our English teacher at 3 am, and yelled, "Beware the Ides of March! Beware the Ides of March!"

is a bar of soap self-cleaning? so in the shower you could start by washing your genitals and move up to your face and it would be ok?

feelgood 01-20-2006 03:26 PM

No, in fact I've found hairs on the damn bar left behind by my brother and if the bar of soap was "self-cleaning" it wouldn't be there would it?

What's your favorite desert?

My favourite book is "The Far Pavilions" by M.M. Kaye. It's about India in the 19th century and has it all: Romance, War, Action, Heroism.

Pam Anderson

Do you know the difference between Latitude and Longitude?

maleficent 01-20-2006 04:03 PM

Lucifer 01-20-2006 04:24 PM

MojoRisin 01-21-2006 03:02 AM

Burning human flesh... its a long story...

Lucifer 01-21-2006 08:09 AM

pretty apathetic, if you must know...

Do you own a GPS?

blahblah454 01-21-2006 11:06 AM

Google or Yahoo!?

maleficent 01-21-2006 02:33 PM

Google me baby... Yahoo as a search engine has gotten a little tired... especially for news stories...

What do you do with your spare change?

feelgood 01-21-2006 02:40 PM

I do 2 different things with it, A: Combine it with other spare change and get something from teh vending machine. Or B: Use it to pay for parking pass at school.

Stargate or Battlestar Galactica? Why?

Willravel 01-21-2006 02:44 PM

Galactica all the way. It is character driven, and science fiction backed, instead of the opposite. Stargate worked well as a movie, and did well for about 4 of the 9 seasons that we've seen so far, but it lacks a measure of humanity. Every episode of Battlestar has been unequaled in entertainment history, in my eyes at least.

Favorite cheese?

Lucifer 01-21-2006 03:11 PM

extra old cheddar. "Cheese, Gromit, Cheeeeeese!"

Favourite movie?

blahblah454 01-21-2006 03:12 PM

Night to yourself, read a book or watch a movie?

Lucifer 01-21-2006 03:14 PM

Either a movie, or at the moment, seriously addicted to Ace Combat 5 on PS2!

What's your favourite magazine?

feelgood 01-21-2006 03:35 PM

I'm gonna have to go with maxim. It's driven by the need to have articles for men in casual life that touches on every subject and of course, who can resist those fine ladies?

Favorite TV show of all time (including past shows)?

Lucifer 01-21-2006 03:43 PM

BUFFY!

21 Jump Street Johnny Depp or Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp?

shesus 01-21-2006 03:44 PM

My favorite tv show to watch is Sex and the City. But my favorite tv show since I was about 12 is Mary Tyler Moore. Because we're all going to make it after all. ;)

What is the best concert you've been to?

Dragonknight 01-21-2006 04:45 PM

In regards to Lucifer's question, Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp all the way.

For shesus, I've only been to one concert the Rocking the Corps concert at Camp Pendleton. It opened with Godsmack and I loved it for that alone. I wouldn't mind seeing another Godsmack concert.

What's the best gift you've ever been given?

SirLance 01-21-2006 05:29 PM

Her hand in matrimony.

How many siblings do you have? If one or more, are you oldest or youngest?

MojoRisin 01-21-2006 06:01 PM

I have three sisters and one brother, two sisters who are both about 8 years older, twins, a brother who is a year older and a sister who is 4 years younger.

Do you believe in democracy?

fresnelly 01-21-2006 06:40 PM

By regularliy changing a government, Democracy helps the balance of power and offers accountability. OK, that sounds a little naive, but it's the best we've got. All the other 'ocracies and 'isms that you can run a country with, put too much faith in the human nature of those in power.

What's a fun thing you'd like to have with you, if stranded on a deserted island?

blahblah454 01-21-2006 09:06 PM

hmmmm, a fun thing on a deserted island. I think I would take my mountain bike. I am imaganing some nice lush vegitation with natural wildlife trails. Give me my bike and a nice hydration pack and I would be set.

Do you think it is right to have our freedoms limited in order to keep us "safe".

feelgood 01-21-2006 09:44 PM

Yeah, its one of the tough things that the government has to do; to be able to balance between freedom and security. Sometimes they can only go so far.

What's your favourite day of the week? And why?

Poppinjay 01-22-2006 04:12 AM

Believe it or not, Monday. I work 7 days a week, so that's not an issue. Monday is when I'm usually most refreshed and can actually sleep in a little.

Out of the remaining teams, who do you want to win the Superbowl?

777 01-22-2006 04:26 AM

Day of the week... Considering I've worked retail, and will be starting a sales position, Friday and Saturday are the busiest days. So I would have to so that Sunday is my favorite day. It's completely open for whatever I want.

What is your dream job/career? If you are in that career already, would you quit your current job if you found the a risky opportunity to follow your dreams?

maleficent 01-22-2006 06:43 AM

Dream job wouldbe to own a smallish inn in the mountains of Vermont or New Hampshire with an outstanding restaurant in it... (menu by me). If I had the money to do it - I'd do it in a heartbeat - if I could get the financing (which wouldbe incredibly risky) I'd make sure i Had a solid business plan in place (I"m halfway there with it) and do it...

What are your friends like? They like you or opposites

blahblah454 01-22-2006 10:05 AM

Some of my friends are pretty close to me, alot of us mountain bike and hike and such. All the ones that mountain bike also play guitar (as do I). Then I have other friends that do neither and are completely different than me. So I suppose I would say I have a very wide spectrum of friends; some are like, some not so much.

Do you make purchases because you saw the item on a commercial or do commercials have little effect on you?

shesus 01-22-2006 10:22 AM

I don't think commercials have that big of an effect on me. Billboards and photo ads have more of an appeal especially in regards to fashion. Commercials on tv annoy me so much. Or if they're funny I have no idea what they're advertising after they're over.

Define you style in one sentence...fashion style that is. ;)

onodrim 01-22-2006 11:13 AM

Comfortable, casual, and cute, the typical collegiate couture. Like my use of alliteration as well.

Coke or Pepsi?

Lucifer 01-22-2006 11:27 AM

Coke all the way!

Valentine's Day: actual holiday or over-hyped ripoff?

shesus 01-22-2006 11:51 AM

Valentine's day is an over-hyped rip-off. But I always use it as an excuse to get more lingerie. ;)

Do you prefer hot weather or cold weather?

feelgood 01-22-2006 01:20 PM

Lucifer 01-22-2006 01:26 PM

Criminal Minds or Law & Order?

blahblah454 01-22-2006 01:43 PM

To tell you the truth I watch like 1 hour of TV a week, maybe even a month. I have never even heard of Criminal minds and I have seen only half an episode of L&O. So Law and Order gets my vote because I have at least heard of it.

Do you like onions?

maleficent 01-22-2006 03:16 PM

mmmm onions... yum yum... vidalia and red are the only ones i like raw - but cook everything else.... i'm in heaven... onion soup - mmmmmm-- carmelized onions.... mmmm- anything but creamed...

Have you ever got stuck up a tree, afraid to climb back down?

Lucifer 01-22-2006 04:41 PM

sure, when you're up a tree 6 feet can look like 60.

What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?

JumpinJesus 01-22-2006 04:48 PM

When I was only 5 years old, my older sister and her best friend forced me to act like a cow and graze in our front yard. She made me eat grass. I'd have to say that was the strangest thing I've ever eaten.

You've made quite a name for yourself posting here in the tfp. Having gained that bit of notoriety, you've been asked many questions that just seem cliched and trite. I don't want to do that to you out of respect for your craft and your time. So, I'll ask a simple question: If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

blahblah454 01-22-2006 06:36 PM

Easy, I would be a Weeping Willow. No I am not some pansy that cries all the time, this is about trees gosh darnit! I love the look of the tree. As a child vacationing in BC at the lakes there would be weeping willows everywhere. Playing in the shade of these magnificent trees is amazing. They just sing of beauty and they remind me of being young and free.

How do you feel about the way the world is moving in its food aspects? The way everything is instant this, instant that, fast food, sprayed with pestasides, pumped full of hormones and steriods ext. ext.

noodle 01-22-2006 07:02 PM

We've lost touch with our food. I personally am trying to move back to organics when possible. Can't give up my Lean Cuisines, but aim for the spa ones with whole grains. Always feel better when I'm eating less processed, hydrolyzed, and hormonalized stuff. I bow before the altar of Whole Foods and Fresh Market. :D

On that note, what are your healthiest and unhealthiest favorite foods?

fresnelly 01-22-2006 08:25 PM

Healthiest: The humble apple.
Unhealthiest: Deep. Fried. Cheese.

What's the most you've ever spent at a restaurant on a single meal?

feelgood 01-22-2006 08:27 PM

About 50 bucks, it was buying chinese take outs for the family.

FedEx or UPS?

Plummie 01-22-2006 10:47 PM

UPS - the prices are better.

Do you have any birds? If so, what kind?

777 01-22-2006 10:51 PM

Neither, I just use the USPS for everything. Even that iPod I sold once.

Considering it's late January, are you still keeping your New Year's Resolutions?

blahblah454 01-23-2006 05:09 AM

I don't really make "New Years Resolutions". But recently I have been trying to spend less time on the computer, and more time reading, doing school work, and getting fit. I have been doing a pretty decent job of it so far (going on my 4th week now). So I would say that my resolutions to try and manage my time better have been successful.

How much TV would you say you watch in an average week? This excludes putting in movies.

maleficent 01-23-2006 05:09 AM

seeing as i didn't see the point in making any this year, i'd say yeah, i'm keeping my new years resolution of not making any ;)

and in answer to plummie's question - no birds here, one or two birdbrained people in my life but no pet birds - the obnoxious ones that cheep outside my window in the spring are bad enough... :D

blah's question -- When i am home, my tv is almost always on, primarily for background noise... i can't stand total silence... but i would say i watch maybe 2 hours of television per day...

do you like snow/ why or why not?
