Cough Cough Sneeze Wheeze Itch...
Yup for a few weeks now actually... If yours are just starting - the cherry blossoms must just be popping... I hated being in DC this time of year... :)

Do you do any spring cleaning? I'm a confirmed slob -- though this morning -- I have thrown open all the windows to air out the place -- and took off two of the three blankets that are on my bed...

Grasshopper Green 04-01-2006 01:44 PM

I usually do a little, but this year we are doing alot. We are looking into buying a house, so I'd rather get alot done now so packing and whatnot will be easier down the road.

Do you own your home? We rent...when we do buy, it'll be our first "real" home!

AVoiceOfReason 04-01-2006 02:07 PM

We own our home--with a mortgage, of course, but we could pay it off if we wanted.

Do you plant a garden for vegetables? I have never done that as an adult--my parents and grandparents did, but it's not for me.

shesus 04-01-2006 06:58 PM

Considering I live on the 28th floor, a garden is out of the question. My grandparents have a garden and I used to garden before I moved to the city, but I wasn't good at it because my plants always died.

What is your favorite snack? I go through phases, but right now I'm hooked on dipping snacks...fritos and cheese dip or celery and peanut butter...depends on if I'm feeling like junk food or healthy food.

Carno 04-01-2006 07:13 PM

I go through phases as well... Currently I have been buying a lot of those Soft Batch chocolate cookies. Whateverthefuck brand it is.. the ones in the red package.

What is your favorite meal?

BigBen 04-01-2006 10:38 PM

Baked Ziti. I love it. It is even good warmed up a couple of times.

Are you a "gamer"? I am trying to classify myself as one, but I am coming up short. There are a thousand people that are waaaaaaaaay more hard-core than me...

Poppinjay 04-02-2006 03:26 AM

No, my cube sits in the dresser unmolested. I got stuck in a Spongebob game and haven't played ever since. That would make me so not a gamer.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? I know they don't chuck wood, but if they did, I'd guess maybe small mulchy bits.

AVoiceOfReason 04-02-2006 05:23 AM

My answer to the woodchuck question: I need more information before making that determination. How old is this woodchuck? How good are his teeth? What kind of wood are we talking about? Is he well rested from his last chucking? Is he being paid by the job or by the hour?

So you see, I can't give you an answer without more data.

I don't want an entire list, I just want one disc that you'd make sure you took onto that proverbial desert island (you know, the one with the great sound system and electrical outlets). Me, I think I'd toss in WAITING FOR COLUMBUS by Little Feat every time.

fresnelly 04-02-2006 05:31 AM

Tough to pick just one, but because of its tone, I'd pick Paul Simon's Graceland.

Oh, and if a woodchuck could chuck wood, a woodchuck would chuck lots of wood. At lease one cord. (chord? :))

How often do you buy cut flowers? My wife loves them, so I don't wait for special occasions - maybe once a month.

Poppinjay 04-02-2006 06:20 AM

I go at about the same rate. Currently we have Gerbera daisies on the dresser.

Have you ever joined a group like the BPOE, Moose, Shriners? I haven't, and I wonder if those groups will die out with our fathers.

maleficent 04-02-2006 06:21 AM

i love flowers... and will treat myself to them every few weeks... I'm not good with living things - like actual plants... so flowers are good for me... you know they will die... My personal favorite is daisies... though they are tough to find...

What do you do for fun? best answer i can come up with is i read, watch movies and cook occassionally - i am not much fun at all really...

shesus 04-02-2006 08:35 AM

Well, since PoppinJay got skipped, I'll answer both questions. I used to go to the Moose lodge because my parents were members, but I'm not a fan of organized groups like that, they make me think of clans for some reason, so I think they will eventually die out, but who knows, there may be generations to keep them going.

For fun, I do whatever I'm in the mood for...sometimes it's video games, sometimes watching a movie, sometimes exercising, sometimes just walking to different places around the city. My favorite fun thing is shopping, but since we are broke I can't do that anymore.

Where is your favorite place? I have a few favorite places, but the one that I can go to whenever I want is Washington Square Park. It's a little pocket park a couple blocks away and in the summer it's a haven. It's quiet, which is surprising being so close to the city. We take a picnic and books and spend the day laying on a blanket relaxing. If the homeless people ignore you, it's a very peaceful place. We also get to feed the squirrels which will eat out of your hand.

Grancey 04-02-2006 04:46 PM

My favorite place is the Gulf Coast beach along the panhandle of Florida. I have solved many problems while walking along the shore. It is a peaceful, sometimes spiritual experience.

What is your favorite breakfast cereal. Right now I'm into Corn Pops.

Carno 04-02-2006 06:12 PM

Favorite breakfast cereal is Basic 4. The damn stuff is so expensive though :|

What has been the happiest day of your life so far? Mine was probably when I first asked out one of my girlfriends. I surfed for about four hours that same day because the waves were really good, and then we went on a date that night and I asked her out. Surfing always puts me in a good mood, and the rest of the day was just really awesome too. Then the bitch cheated on me a couple months later.

little_tippler 04-04-2006 04:24 AM

I don't know anymore...but some months back it would have been any number of great days I'd had with my ex.

Ok, well I'll say that recently it has been the first day I moved in to my new house!!! So yeah that's pretty great.

What do you feel most like doing now that spring has started and the weather is warmer?

maleficent 04-04-2006 04:30 AM

It's raining cats and dogs and it's cold, my socks are wet, my underwear is wet... my hair is a damp, limp mass of frizz... I'm hoping these april showers bring may flowers... soon...

Since it's easter time... do you like Peeps? I'm a fan of the yellow peeps (none of this pink, purple or blue peep crap, gotta go with the classic) a little bit stale, placed lovingly on a graham cracker, and put into the toaster oven for one toasting cycle... you can almost hear the peep scream as he gets all marshmallow melty on the cracker... when he's done toasting and the sugar outside the peep has gotten all browned.. put another graham cracker on top and squish -and you have peep sammich... (add chocolate if you lke a peep s'more..

BigBen 04-04-2006 05:20 AM

You probably won't believe this, but I have never had a peep. Maybe I should try them.

Do you have a preference for Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola, or something else? I honestly don't care, and I like all different kinds, including the no-name brand.

AVoiceOfReason 04-04-2006 05:56 AM

I have taken the Pepsi Challenge and picked Coke. I can tell the difference and much prefer Coca-Cola. I don't mind RC now and then.

Your host offers you a drink from his fully stocked bar of fruit juices. Which one do you select? I'd opt for orange juice most of the time, except at night when I switch to grape juice.

maleficent 04-04-2006 05:58 AM

straight oj gives me acid reflux... OJ or Grapefruit juice mixed with cranberry juice is my favorite - and makes a pretty color...

I've been slowly picking all the red jelly beans out of the jar on my desk... what's your favorite flavor of jelly bean..

fresnelly 04-04-2006 06:18 AM

Orange. Definitely orange. We can share :)

This morning a driver gave me the finger after I fully signalled and changed lanes in front him. When was the last time somebody gave you an obscene guesture?

maleficent 04-04-2006 10:49 AM

the other day while crossing the street (I had the light, they had no patience)

what's on your keychain? My office keys have a mini-vibrator, that has a dead battery, loyaly cards fro CVS, Pathmark, Stop and Shop, and foodtown (guess i'm not that loyal) assorted keys, and a key fob that says, I like my attitude problem. my apartment keys have a big blue free form heart on it...

Carno 04-04-2006 11:14 AM

I only have two things on my keychain: my truck key and my apartment key. I can't stand having a huge thing of metal jangling around in my pocket, so I keep it simple.

What color is your bedspread and sheets? My comforter is navy blue on top and tan on bottom, and my sheets are tan as well.

fresnelly 04-06-2006 05:26 AM

A small checkered pattern in different shades of blue.

What colour are the walls in your bedroom? I think the name of our colour is "Chamois", so a buttery colour.

maleficent 04-06-2006 05:50 AM

rental white... with rental beige carpeting

What is the lighting situation in your bedroom?
I have to bedside lamps in brothel red - that give a lovely red cast to the room, and on my dresser, I have a beaded multi color lamp that i beaded myself... it's tacky as all get out but it's fun...

Charlatan 04-06-2006 05:55 AM

My bedroom is dark... the light in the ceiling fan no longer works and the two side table lamps don't offer enough to really see. I also have put a light in my closet so I can find my clothes.

My bedroom is due for a big makeover.

There are too many of my own to list... but what about your current house bugs you? What are you going to do about it?

fresnelly 04-06-2006 07:47 AM

We live in a row house, so our biggest complaint is that the only access to the backyard is through the house. This is a pain when you have to mow the lawn. Also, the front doesn't have a water faucet or electrical outlet outside, so we have to feed from inside. Also, we only have a 60amp service, so no hot tub for us. ;) We'll address these things eventually, but for now the priority is the backyard. It's a lumpy weedy mess and the back deck is in rough shape. This summer we're going to hire a landscaper to re-sod the backyard and next year we'll do the deck.

Otherwise, we love our house, It's a perfect fit.

What's the worst feature about the worst place you ever lived?

One of my wife's apartments was next to a parking lot for a nightclub. The club emptied out in the middle of the night and all the idiot patrons would hang out there, revving their cars and generally being loud, drunken A-holes. As a bonus, the lot would get noisily snow-plowed at 5am during the winter.

maleficent 04-06-2006 07:55 AM

143 Shaw Street, Apt 2, Garfield New Jersey... the entire thing was the worst feature...

14 dominicans lived in the first floor, and momma's idea of fun was to send the 8 children under the age of 8 out to play on weekend mornings about 7am - and let them be as loud as possible. (not fun when you are 22 years old and had just gotten in from a night of dancing at about 4am - -and you have to be at work at 10:00am)

Family of 4 above us... for kicks, once a week, the husband would get drunk and beat the wife up once a week, and she'd smack the little girl around every so often.. Dad would get arrested for beating up the wife, get taken off to the police station, he'd come home later- turn on elvis and you'd hear the mattress springs a creakin' as they got busy...

There was a polish chuch on the street corner.. that rang bells loudly everyhour - -i mean every freakin' hour... and the elderly polish ladies would yell at me for not going to church as i went out ot work on sunday...

The landlord would come over on the weekends at 8am or so - to 'fix' stuff.. one morning my roommate's boyfriend came out of my roommate's bedroom and said the landlord was sitting in the living room, just watching the bedroom doors... Odd fellow...

When's the last time you got really really drunk? I don't recall and I really need to...

shoegirl 04-06-2006 09:00 AM

Really, really drunk? Hmm... it's been awhile - I think around the middle of January. Come to think of it, I haven't even been really drunk in awhile, let alone really, really drunk.

What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day (besides sex)?

Crack 04-06-2006 11:06 AM

Go outside and play in it of course! If it's cold, I like to watch movies, or play board games.

What is the longest time you have gone (since you have been able to do it) not masterbating?

BigBen 04-06-2006 11:17 AM

Two months, back in 1996. There is a story to go along with it, but suffice it to say, there is such a thing as "Not in the Mood" in certain environments.

What would you be willing to sacrifice for a million dollars?
I think I could be a vegetarian.... but I would have to see the money. And no Vegan shit either. This is regular vegetarianism, not militant.

Poppinjay 04-06-2006 01:59 PM

Hmmm... I was thinking I'd go vegan for the mill, but the thing I most like to spend money on is food that has either cheese or seafood.

For a million dollars, I would sacrifice television. Even getting Sopranos recaps from Telly Without Pity. TV would be dead to me.

I'm reading Everyone's Pretty by Lydia Millet. What are you reading?

AVoiceOfReason 04-07-2006 05:30 AM

I keep more than one book going at once. The main one, since it is checked out of the library, is Spitz' THE BEATLES. Not bad, could be better. I also have THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA by C.S. Lewis on the nightstand (I'm reading the part about Prince Caspian) and of course, I read the Bible daily.

Speaking of libraries, when were you last in one? For me, it was a couple of weeks ago. There is a branch of the city library next door to my office and I went in to look at a newspaper article. While there, I saw the book referenced above.

shoegirl 04-08-2006 09:41 PM

I was in a library, probably about a month ago. I love going to the library - I'm a huge book nerd. :) Speaking of which, I think I shall make a trip there this week.

And since we're on a library theme for now - what's the worst fine you've ever been issued from the library? (darn late books) :)

Toaster126 04-08-2006 11:15 PM

$21... max fine on all the books I had out. I think of the late fees as my way of donating to the nice people at the library that let me use their books. :)

What would be your "last meal" be before you got sent to the chair?

AVoiceOfReason 04-09-2006 06:30 PM

I'm told that a prisoner can only order "off the menu" of what is available at the prison. Putting that aside, I'm going for crab legs, shrimp, a well done prime rib, a nice salad and pecan pie.

Ever been inside an operating jail, either as a visitor or a prisoner? I don't mean the booking desk or the visiting area, I mean the housing unit. I have been there quite often, as I am a criminal defense attorney.

maleficent 04-10-2006 05:06 AM

I have seen the inside of a jail cell.. Back in college, two friends of mine and I decided to make the trip from Massachussetts to New Orleans... Somewhere outside of New Orleans we got stopped for speeding in my Yankee-mobile... Barney Fife didn't like Yankees much... especially not yankee college girls... and decided we needed to see the judge (rather than just give us a ticket.) We ended up spending the night in a jail cell, in a county jail (that looked just like Mayberry's Jail cell) with a drunk sleeping off a bender in the next cell... Judge let us go the next morning with just a warning (I suppose the jail cell was cheaper than a hotel room)

How much sleep did you get last night? I got about 3 hours... I'm tired...

TivaBella 04-10-2006 08:14 AM

I got about 6 hours. I've had worse nights, but I usually need 8 to be fully functional.

What's your favourite card game? Mine's cribbage but I haven't played in years

Carno 04-11-2006 05:55 AM

Poker, in all its variations. I am not too good at it, but it's still fun.

Have you ever been in rough seas while in a small boat? I have a couple times. Once when I was on my dad's catamaran, a storm hit while we were several miles from shore. I was only twelve or so, so I was scared shitless. The other time happened on a small outboard fishing boat, and we got caught along a long section of cliffs when the storm caught up with us. We couldn't put in anywhere because of the cliffs, and we were taking on so much water the boat was more under water than above it.

Poppinjay 04-12-2006 06:53 PM

I was part of a racing team on a sailboat in inclement weather, and came close to not making the jump to hike the starboard in a change of direction. Other than that, it was a 36 foot boat, so it handled rough seas very well.

Describe the object of your affection in the last erotic dream you had. Mine was a forward aged morph of a girl I knew in high school. My psyche was digging deep, for some reason.

Toaster126 04-12-2006 08:58 PM

I seem to only remember erotic dreams when I can recall dreams because I always wake up during them. My last one involved a certain TFP'er on the East coast, so I don't feel like sharing any more than that. :P

What is your hobby that you most love to participate in?

777 04-13-2006 09:15 PM

Kung Fu.

What book are you reading right now?

Charlatan 04-14-2006 12:01 AM

I am reading uTOpia: Towards a new Toronto. It is a collection of essays about the change (for the good) that is starting to happen in Toronto. The selling point for me was the cool maps in the back. They show a very different Toronto, a Toronto that might have been, that might still be...

I am off to the cottage for the weekend what are you doing for the Easter long weekend?

Lucifer 04-14-2006 04:10 AM

I've got a friend flying in for a week, so drinking is probably going to be on the agenda.

This past week, I've gotten heavily into playing spider solitaire. What computer games do you prefer?

maleficent 04-14-2006 05:16 AM

Tetris/Snood/ and that terribly addictive falling sand game...

Monday, the Boston Marathon is being run... Ever consider running in a marathon (or even walking in one -- though for the boston marathon, you have to qualify - they won't just let anyone run). I'm a lazy slug- I get tired just watching them run i

Poppinjay 04-14-2006 05:57 AM

Hell. No. I might walk a 10k, but that's it. Or I might walk 26 miles, but in an informal fashion. Running disturbs me greatly.

It's Good Friday, is it a good Friday for you?

shoegirl 04-14-2006 06:46 AM

Hmm, it may be too soon to tell if it's a good Friday for me. It should be though, two of my best friends will both be in town today - always makes for a good time. :)

With Easter rapidly approaching, what's your favorite Easter candy? I love those Reese's Eggs - they always taste so much better that regular Reese's cups, at least to me.

Carno 04-14-2006 07:12 AM

Man, those Cadbury Eggs are some good shit. I think they're my favorite.

What's your least favorite Easter candy?

Toaster126 04-14-2006 07:47 AM

I don't like most candy, including chocolate, so basically everything, lol.

Do you own a gun? Why or why not?

maleficent 04-14-2006 07:50 AM

No, I do not own a gun... because while it's got a very long fuse... I have a pretty intense temper... and if I had access to a weapon, given the right circumstance, I wouldn't trust myself to not use it... besides loud noises scare me...

It seems, the only time I do any real cleaning, is when I'm avoiding doing what i really should be doing.... What do you do when you are avoiding doing what you should be doing -- or do you not avoid stuff at all... (i'm really not avoidin it so much as Id on't have the motivation to deal with it right now.

777 04-14-2006 08:40 AM

I get on TFP :p That and some video games, or computer games, or card games, or roleplaying games, etc.

Supose you had all the money you'd ever need right now, what would you be doing? I would most likely be on a house boat, living/sailing from port to port. And speak at the occationally seminar as to how I got all the money I'd ever need so that they can do it too.

Poppinjay 04-14-2006 02:34 PM

Very close to ditto, change the houseboat to a 65' sailboat, and scrap the lectures. I'd be writing instead.

Are you drinking a beverage right now? I'd love a glass of wine.

Grasshopper Green 04-14-2006 02:43 PM

I am drinking a diet 7up. I want some water, but our bottled water is all gone and I refuse to drink the tap water here...it tastes horrible.

Are you doing anything for Easter? I am going to MIL's to hide colored eggs for my son.

Carno 04-14-2006 03:55 PM

Going to a street party tonight, and going to my parents' house on Sunday for dinner with the family.

Speaking of holidays, have you ever had anything really bad happen to you on a holiday? One Christmas several years ago I was so sick that I couldn't get out of bed for almost a week. That sucked.

Grasshopper Green 04-16-2006 06:34 AM

Two years ago I had the flu on Christmas. I was sick a couple days prior, and was really sick on Christmas Eve. I still went to work because I never had the flu before and didn't know what it was. After almost passing out twice at work I should have realized I was ill...but dummy me, I still stayed. I also went to the party my dad throws every year; he made me leave early because I looked so bad. After all that, I didn't get anyone sick that I'm aware of. My hubby came home from work that evening to a pile of unwrapped presents, and he knew something was up. He even wrapped them for me (he despises wrapping gifts). I started feeling a little better Christmas day, but the holiday still sucked for me.

Do you have seasonal allergies? I'm pretty lucky, I get a stuffy nose occassionally in spring but not miserable allergies like my dad and sister.

treesrock 04-16-2006 08:46 AM

First Post at TFP...

Nope, no seasonal allergies, very lucky, I see how badly it affects my mom and sister... I would hate it. None of those prescription drugs seems to do much either.

Have you ever lied to your doctor? Is so, about what?

noodle 04-16-2006 09:05 AM

Yes. I tell them all the time that I smoke a lot less than I do.

How do you feel about toe rings? How many are acceptable at one time?

Toaster126 04-16-2006 10:59 AM

Toe rings can be sexy. I think more than one on each foot is overdoing it. Just gotta make sure you don't hurt your feet with them from what I gather...

Today is Easter. What does Easter mean to you?

fresnelly 04-16-2006 11:36 AM

Like most religious holidays for me, it has more to do with family than its true meaning. I do take the time to think about the importance of sacrifice though.

Do you have a t-shirt that displays a silly message, completely unrelated to who you are or what you represent? I got one as a present that says "Life is simple: Eat, Sleep, Play Pool!" (the i's are dotted with pool balls). I think the last time I played pool, was in a bar over 2 years ago. I wear it as an undershirt.

AVoiceOfReason 04-16-2006 02:34 PM

I have one that says "Attorney At Law. Suing people since . . . whenever." An old secretary gave it to me.

What's your favorite "new" kids' cartoon, meaning one that has been in production in the past five years (I'm trying to eliminate the old Bugs Bunny, Bullwinkle, Pink Panther and the like)? I like the Simpsons best, but it's not really a "kid's cartoon." I guess I'll go with Rugrats.

maleficent 04-16-2006 02:47 PM

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea... Sponge Bob Square Pants...
it's obnoxious, annoying but it's better than the powerpuff girls :)

What's your favorite old school cartoon -- I've had a crush on Race Bannon for as long as I can remember - and everything I know about classical music I learned courtsey of Looney tunes... but... I will always love Underdog... he had a cool theme song... (gtta wonder, though was Sweet Polly Purebred was two timing the shoeshine boy with underdog, if they were the same person? :D

when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

Poppinjay 04-17-2006 12:10 PM

I was a total crackhad for Underdog when I was a kid. The only cartoon that could compete was Speed Racer, but that was on such a spotty schedule, it was hard to catch on a regular basis.

How did you get where you are? I had connections.

Toaster126 04-17-2006 01:41 PM

Parents that raised me correctly, and a constant drive to better myself.

What is your next life goal you hope to have accomplished?

777 04-17-2006 01:57 PM

Move out (again).

What do you do when bored at work? I try chatting out some of the gals here or go online (like right now).

Poppinjay 04-17-2006 03:08 PM

I check out TFP, occasionally bring a book to work, and think about how I should be writing in my journal to keep my skills up.

What's your favorite "joint" ie: restaurant to take your SO or friends where you don't have to dress up, bonus: they know you there.

Ours used to be a place called Paula's Pizza, we're looking for a new love.

Charlatan 04-17-2006 03:21 PM

Mine is called Logan Grill. I took Amonkie there when she was in town. It's good for breakfast.

I've had too much of my kids candy from Easter. What did you get for Easter (if anything)?

maleficent 04-18-2006 03:32 AM

nothing - nada - bupkiss- not even a happy easter greeting... :(

What's ya have for breakfast today? I had two pieces of english muffin bread (that I made myself over the weekend), darkly toasted, with a little butter and cinnamin sugar on it...

fresnelly 04-19-2006 07:14 AM

Apple Juice, buttered toast, and a bowl of Cheerios. Quite satisfying really.

If you were to play hooky today, what would you do?

I'd head downtown to window shop, see a movie, and check out this exhibit:

http://www.textilemuseum.ca/exhibiti...blebeauty.html

AVoiceOfReason 04-21-2006 09:40 AM

I started to play hooky today and play golf, but it rained this morning. So if I took off right now, I'd probably go home where the house is vacant and play some music at a volume only I appreciate.

Speaking of which, what kind of stereo do you have? I have an old (1984 or so) Sears system with a CD player I added a couple of years later. Frankly, I listen to most of my music on the computer headsets and in the car.

BigBen 04-21-2006 09:48 AM

I have a stereo so loud that it can blow the clothes off of a woman.

Sadly, the place I live is filled with young professionals who woul dnot appreciate it.

I also listen to my music using incredible earbuds and my car stereo. My car stereo needs an amp and a few new speakers, but not worth the money for my short car rides.

I have a kick-ass Sony Xplode deck, but nothing to back it up with.

If you had to make an alcoholic beverage using hot coffee, what would it be? I am a big fan of Irish Coffee. Bushmills, sugar, whipped cream. Yum.

Charlatan 04-21-2006 09:51 AM

I have one of those cheap all in one systems. It has AM/FM radio, dual tape (that I never use) and CD player. I would love to own an expensive system but I can't justify the expense. This does what I need it to do.

EDIT: I would mix in some Bailey's with my coffee.

I need to get my haircut. When was the last time you had your haircut? How much did it cost and do you go to the same person everytime? (mine is about $20 and Sheila cuts my hair).

maleficent 04-21-2006 10:00 AM

I vented about my most recent hair cut in my journal... cost me a whopping 75 bucks for a lousy cut and adequate color job... Diva stylist practically yelled at me for coloring my hair at home...(Yes, I know that's bad) and how dry my hair was (it's not my fault there's crappy water here, I condition every day) as well as trying to convince me that I should blow dry.. I'm inept... I cant... I will never go back to this guy again...

do you keep a to do list/ i do, and stuff just keeps getting added to it - i'm not sure I ever take stuff off it.

777 04-21-2006 10:17 AM

Usually when grocery shopping. When I get my financial thing running, every hour of every day will be scheduled. With plenty of time for goofing off :)

I'm working late today, blah. What are you doing tonight?

fresnelly 04-21-2006 10:56 AM

My wife is working tonight, so it's just me and the boy. I might rent a movie. Anyone up for Scrabble sometime after 8pm EST?

What do you think of a show like "What Not To Wear"?

On one hand, they seem to be genuinely helping their subjects, who are often in tears at the end because of how renewed they feel.

On the other hand, maybe it teaches us be too judgemental and catty about fashion. The tips are good, but most of us have neither the $5000 to reinvent our wardrobes, or even access to designer labels. After every episode, I can almost hear the collective sigh of America, staring at closets full of dumpy, dated clothing.

Poppinjay 04-21-2006 12:08 PM

I think the show is teh ghey. My daily wardrobe consists of pants and shirt. Anything extra is useless.

Who would you like to kick in the nuts (roshambo)? I could kick Tom Cruise in the nuts.

maleficent 04-21-2006 12:12 PM

I have way too much pent up hostility to actually start naming names... there'd be too many people who need a good old fashioned nut kicking...

What's your favorite non-cussing expression when you are trying to show your displeasure... I'm quite mature, so my pet phrase tends to be something mature like BITE ME... gets the point across...

BigBen 04-21-2006 01:09 PM

"Entirely Unaccpetable."

It gets the point across, especially when you are holding a weapon and have cam paint on your face.

When in the shower, do you HAVE to sing? I can't get by without 'Rubber Ducky' or something by Nat King Cole or Deano. Witchcraft by Frank pops up now and then...

Grasshopper Green 04-21-2006 03:02 PM

I'm not a shower singer...I'm lucky I don't fall asleep in the shower, let alone have the energy to sing.

I'm taking my finals in a week. When was the last time you had to take a test of some kind?

777 04-24-2006 09:42 AM

Tests I can do. It's the constant barage of homework that kills me.

The last test I took was one of those personality profile pre-employment thingys for my current part-time gig. I have a good idea as to what they're are looking for on these things. Looks like I did fairly well, since I got hired.

What's you idea of a romantic date for two? There's this wooded area near the river bed from here. It'll be great for a picnic. And since there's gonna be no one else around... :suave:

BigBen 04-25-2006 11:16 AM

Romantic Date?

Shit man...

Watching a movie, popcorn in hand, getting those little butterflies in your tummy. You look over at her, and you notice how she is watching the movie.

The screen is emitting light, making her look amazing. The colours changing, fast and sometimes strobe-like. The sound of the movie is taking on a new sound, the sound of your heartbeat. She is sitting right beside you, and she has the perfect amount of cologne on. You can barely smell it, but it is amazing. You know that the fragrance would intensify if you leaned in closer. Oh god, how you want to lean in closer...

You pay attention to the movie again, and out of the corner of your eye, you see her looking at you.

sweet

You cross your legs, and your knee 'accidentally' touches her knee. Hey, there isn't any crime in that! She doesn't move her leg. She leans in a tiny bit, and her shoulder is gently touching yours. Oh my.

You were right about her smelling better when she got closer.

Where are you? Are you watching a movie? Wasn't this the movie you wanted to see for a long time? Where did your mind go? Oh, right. You are looking at the girl again. This time, she looks at you the same time. Her eyes. Half of her face in shadow, the other half with that movie glow. She smiles. Do you look the same way to her? There is no way you look as good, but the lighting is the same, anyway.

She mouths the word "What?" with a smile, wondering why you are staring. If only she could read minds, to see how perfect she is at this moment. What an ego boost that would be. Can you preserve this moment forever, in long-term memory? "Nothing" you mouth back, but you aren't smiling. You are seconds away from crying, knowing that this perfect moment can't last long enough.

Anyhoo. That is my idea for a romantic date.

What is your Most Favorite form of exercise? Least Favorite? (Get your mind out of the gutter, you petite cochon)

My favorite is rock-climbing, but I haven't done it in years and years.
Least favorite? Running.

Carno 04-25-2006 11:44 AM

Favorite form of exercise = Surfing
Least Favorite = running

How often do you work out? I usually run 3-5 days a week, and work out in the gym about 3 days a week.

nrclark 04-29-2006 11:39 AM

I try to avoid all forms of "working out" ... i have a physical job anyway ...

When you fantisize while having sex .... and we all do ... who do you think about most often?

maleficent 04-29-2006 12:50 PM

you're supposed to answer your own question... but...

I don't have sex often enough to fantasize - the real thing is way to infrequent to cloud it with fantasies...

I've been contemplating getting a bunny rabbit as a pet, since I can't have dogs or cats in the place i live and Idon't live birds, reptiles or fishies... what's the most unique pet yo've ever owned.... what was it's name?

Carno 04-29-2006 01:33 PM

Well, he wasn't mine specifically, but when I was a kid my sister had a pot-bellied pig named Hampton.

When is the next time you'll be getting drunk? Tonight for me, and then again in a few days when finals are finished.

Toaster126 04-29-2006 05:38 PM

Tonight for me as well. Just got the call from some friends at a bar. :D

What historical figure do you most admire? (Why?)

nrclark 05-01-2006 09:54 AM

sorry ... "maleficent" (please be patient, i'm new here and i have a head injury) ... first to answer my last post, usually an ex ... secondly ... da vinci, wayyy ahead of his time
have you ever stolen something, and what?
I stole a pair of work boots from k-mart when i was 16 ... i got caught, i got the the s*it scared out of me, (and a boot in the ass from dear ol dad ... i dont think he saw the irony there), and i learned my lesson good .... i have never stolen since .... does robbing a bank count???

777 05-01-2006 11:54 PM

It was the early 80's. A miniture version of my current self was at the mall with mom. The Return of the Jedi has been in theatres for some time now, and all the Star Wars toys were every where. I saw this pair of Yoda scissors that looked so "bad" that I had to have them. I figured I'd hold on to them and ask mom to but them for me. The next thing I remember, is getting out of the car in our driveway at home. And the scissors were still in my mini hand?! Oh well. I wonder what ever happened to them...

I picked up "A Street Car Named Desire" on DVD. It was recomded to me by an old friend of mine. I bought it last summer, and have yet to watch it.

Do you own a book, movie, game, or comic that you bought for yourself, and have yet to view it?

Poppinjay 05-02-2006 12:53 PM

No. The closest thing I have is about $10 unused on a Borders gift card.

When you write the story of your life, who will play you?

I would be played by Kevin James.

BigBen 05-02-2006 01:02 PM

Tom Hanks.

Do you listen to online music?

I have been known to go to BBC1 once in a while, and a buddy just told me about a radio station in Calgary.

nrclark 05-02-2006 02:34 PM

i used to listen to online music ... but then i got digital cable, they have all my music needs while im in the house, "comercial free"! ... in my car i listen to the local stations (i find i get bored with all my cd's after a while)

What one thing gives you the biggest "adrenaline rush"

although i havn't done it in a few years, i used to race standardbred horses, biggest rush on the face of the earth, (in my opinion, anyway).

777 05-02-2006 10:18 PM

At the moment, it's a tie between roller coasters and kung fu demos at the studio.

What's the last movie you saw?

I just watched Memories of a Geisha with my step-dad, and I am, yet again, impressed with Ziyi Zhang's performance (And she hot, too). You may remember her from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; House of Flying Daggers; Rush Hour 2; and Hero.

Toaster126 05-03-2006 06:37 AM

I saw Silent Hill on a date a couple of days ago... sort of entertaining, a very meh movie, and a very meh date, lol.

What attracts you in the opposite sex?

SirLance 05-03-2006 06:37 AM

"Left Behind". I've read the books and enjoyed them, but the movie was a dissapointment.

Edit... too slow.

In terms of physical features, a pretty face. In terms of personality, I like someone who is fun to be around. So I married her!

What's your favorite movie of all time?

Mine is "Citizen Kane." It is absolutely fabulous.

maleficent 05-03-2006 08:03 AM

Casablanca - hands down... there are a lot of movies that I really like.. by casablanca is my all time favorite...

Who's your favorite comedian?
I'm a george carlin groupie - even if you took away the bad words that he uses - he's funny - he just comments on teh stupid things on everyday life...

BigBen 05-03-2006 08:49 AM

Comedian. Good question:

I would say that Chris Rock has his moments, but Dave Chapelle is one of the best well-rounded comedians out there today.

Best of all time? I am a big fan of Penn and Teller. I know, they are "Performance Artists", but I consider them comedians.

How many keys do you have on your keychain? Name them:

I have 5

Apartment outer door
Apartment Door
Car Key
Office Key
My Padlock key: I have 6 padlocks all keyed the same. I call it "Ben's Key".

Toaster126 05-03-2006 11:51 AM

Two. House front door key, car key. I do have two FABs though... one for my car, and one for an alarm system.

Who is your favorite (famous) poet?

Poppinjay 05-03-2006 12:28 PM

Sylvia Plath, I have all of her books, and I've read a couple of good bios about her. The biographical info improved greatly when her husband passed away. His sister controlled the info for a while, she was a bitch and did everything she could to paint Plath as psychotic.

What car would you buy if you were shopping for one right now? I'm leaning Saturn Ion 3.

nrclark 05-03-2006 07:27 PM

I would buy anything with the best gas mileage, make and model, not so important

What is your "biggest" pet peeve?

People with "zero" sense of adventure annoy the hell out of me.

onodrim 05-03-2006 10:01 PM

I have a lot of pet peeves :p, but in honor of my last roomates, here are two: putting groceries away in the fridge/freezer while still in the plastic bag from the store, and on a related note, putting an empty container of any kind back in the fridge/freezer. Drives me nuts!

What is your favorite part about the month of May? I'm currently enjoying seeing everything break out in green. :)

maleficent 05-04-2006 05:31 AM

Quote:

Tra la! It's May!
The lusty month of May!
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear!
It's May! It's May!
That gorgeous holiday
When ev'ry maiden prays that her lad
Will be a cad!
It's mad! It's gay!
A libelous display!
Those dreary vows that ev'ryone takes,
Ev'ryone breaks.
Ev'ryone makes divine mistakes
The lusty month of May!

Whence this fragrance wafting through the air?
What sweet feelings does its scent transmute?
Whence this perfume floating ev'rywhere?
Don't you know it's that dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la! That dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la!
What's not to love about May...

Ok - So the above little ditty is from one of my favorite musicals... and the very first musical I did costume design for.. Camelot... Ever do any backstage work in the theater? What's you do?

Charlatan 05-04-2006 07:01 AM

I've done a lot of work onstage and a little bit backstage. Backstage, I was an assistant stage manager on Romeo and Juliet and dinner theatre thing that I can't remember. I was also assistant director on an excellent production of Sexual Perversity in Chicago.

I loved doing threatre. I met my wife doing theatre. Where did you meet the love of your life?
