Damn... given the millions of islands in Canada I thought this might be a little tougher.
These were going to be my hints... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1/39a0faf8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1/fbcc52ac.jpg I have an idea. Let's call off the dispute. Denmark gives us Nancy and we give them Hans Island. |
Excellent idea! I wonder where the Harper Government stands on this?

That's the UFO landing pad at St. Paul, Alberta.
I wrote a script that featured this location... It was a Centennial project by the way... you can see part of the Centennial maple leaf in garden left of the picture. |
You are correct. Nanoo, nanoo.
|
|
Leftwingx... That's Calgary. The thing is, you have to guess right before you get to post a picture.

Lucky for me, I was there just this Sunday, enjoying the early spring weather! It's the Riverdale Necropolis and Cemetary (just north of Riverdale Farm) in Cabbagetown.

i have officially given up on that damn mural. |
It is somewhere along King St?
(#504 = King Streetcar route) |
There are three major streets upon which the 504 streetcar travels...
|
I'm with Flyman on this one, I googled till I could not google anymore!
|
I can't give more of a clue than I gave... one of the streets and an obvious keyword spits it out of google
|
Checked out the mural, 20 mins of google searchin brought up this: http://www.hamiltonpostcards.com/ima...tel3Layer1.jpg
The Royal Connaught hotel? looks about right. also found this http://www.peregrine-foundation.ca/W...St/webcam.html a live webcam lookin at some peregrine nest. Dark when I saw it but maybe interesting later on btw if I get this plz can someone else post a picture? I've got none but I can't stand not guessing |
"The 504 King streetcar operates as a U-shaped route running from Dundas West Station, south on Dundas Street. It parts company with the Dundas Streetcar at Dundas and Roncesvalles and runs down Roncesvalles, past East European restaurants and stores within a long-established neighbourhood to Queen Street. There the King Car runs onto King Street and heads southeast and east through Parkdale, the Fashion District, the Entertainment District and downtown Toronto, making connections with the University and Yonge Subways. After passing between some of the tallest buildings in Toronto, the streetcar enters the old Town of York, angling northeast to meet Queen Street again. After a short jog on Queen, the King car turns north onto Broadview Avenue, meeting the Dundas Streetcar at Dundas Street, passing through Chinatown East and alongside Riverdale Park before ending its journey at Broadview Station."
I've searched a little with Dundas, Queen, Broadview Ave, and Roncesvalles. I kept gettin hung up with the mural on the side of the Sun building. The very right side of that mural is thematically the same; a 504 streetcar with a woman and baby carraiage. I wondered if I was looking at conceptual pictures and the final product. but then I found this picture from a google, from someone's flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/natalieb/91042888/ and decided it was a mural on or near Roncesvalles, somewhere in the Roncesvalles neighborhood at the least. So I stole this from someone's webshots, described as "A mural on a wall somewhere along Roncesvalles. 28 May 2005 by rmadisonwi [Webshots Premium Member]" http://image40.webshots.com/41/6/67/...5QVWsaM_ph.jpg Neither like direct linking images. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...48480006QVWsaM |
Bossnass has it close enough... the last image should have led you to the address (i.e. Jac's Milk at 211 Roncesvalles Ave.).
Game on! |
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...kescangrey.jpg
The original picture was pretty beat up and sun faded out, so it was scanned into grey. Someday I plan on finding the original film and reprinting. *Not part of the "Bossnass-only-has-digital-pics-of-his-trip-down-east-last-summer" series. Previously not posted because it may be impossible. But I like the picture.* |
any hints forthcoming?
|
Hint the first. In giffy goodness. Perhaps a google giveaway.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...s/lakehint.gif edit- now with img tags! |
Mount Doom?
|
Although I was barefoot (and I have a little hair on my feet) quite often the summers I spent there, its closer to the Dead Marshes than Mt Doom.
|
Is this Pine Lake?
edit: ya looking at the date of your hint, this has to be Pine Lake. |
Yep. I thought this might have been a little harder. The hint is of the supercell that was forming - it was july 14th and the ground was aroud 30 degrees, but looking at that satelite image there were some very cold spots forming.
I spent every summer from when I was 16 until 23 at Pine Lake. I partly didn't want to post, because everytime I say "Pine Lake" someone says 'oh yeah, where that tornado hit'. I don't want to reinforce that idea, but it was the easiet hint. Game on Leto. edit.... I wanted to post a couple more pics from the same view point. Midnight, and post thunderstorm. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../Full-Moon.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ss/Rainbow.jpg |
