So does anyone know anything about FoxSports and TNA getting close to a TV deal? I heard some rumors but don't know if there's any reality to it. I think it would be great. Wrestling was at its best when there was some competition.

Also about Shelton, I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but the WWE was rumored to be toying around with the idea of putting Shelton in the next PPV as part of the title match. Yep, although it seems like the idea has been dropped, there was a chance to see a Fatal Four Way at the next PPV for the title instead of a rematch of the Triple Threat between HHH, Michaels and Benoit. Sounds to me like Shelton impressed someone at the top.

One word. EDGE! Did he really break his frickin hand? I kinda think not considering he's using it as a weapon, but that sucks breaking a hand less than a week off the injured list.
He stood toe-2-toe with kane and walked away, That's not something that happens alot. I am seeing alot of smaller guys get pushed lately. I like it even though he isn't that small anymore.

There was something brief between him and Rikishi. Superfly Snuka was involved in it too. Hod Rod smashed a fruit of some sort on Superfly. He was waaaaay underused. I saw him as a good guy with the whole "I'm not telling you...." spots.

The O'Hare/Rikishi angle was based on an old incident between Roddy and Superfly...back the "Piper's Pit" days of the WWF, Roddy had Superfly on, and smacked him with a coconut. Then after WMXIX, when Roddy did his return, he had O"Hare as his sidekick, and Rikishi was there for revenge since Superfly is his uncle, or something. But that kind of died with Roddy's return.
BTW, I head on Fox News this morning that Bradshaw is engaged to some other reporter on the channel.

Just to figure things out for later on:
In the event that NWA:TNA gets a television deal with Fox Sports, and they switch from a PPV Weekly show to a public televised weekly show, would you like a new NWA:TNA thread, or would you like to talk about WWE and NWA:TNA together in the same thread? (ends run-on sentance) Pros of having two separate threads: Clear division of shows Easier to keep track of discussions/conversations Keeps all the WWE haters and NWA:TNA haters separate Pros of having one giant thread: More stuff to talk about More comparison comparisons Mild heated arguments about which show was better on a weekly basis just toss it in whenever you post next. Its not like anyone CAN'T make the thread on thier own, but.. yeah. I'm lazy sometimes

I think 2 separate threads would be much better. It's sometimes tough enough to keep the WWE topics from blending together. Personally, I think there could be enough interest for a Wrestling Forum, but perhaps I'm in the minority.

I agree with JoeyB that a separate NWA-TNA thread would be better to keep the two topics separated. It's not like anyone would get in trouble for mentioning Raven or Ron Killings in the WWE thread though.... right? (looks around nervously)

I hope NWA does get broadcast on FOX, having some competition again would be great.
Also, was anyone else offended by the Eugene character? I don't thnk it's humourous to make fun of those with mental handicaps.

A separate thread would be the best idea. During the WWF vs. WCW days, the thread deteriorated into a "This is better, no this is better, but this show has..." etc.
And Jericho, I was a bit surprised at the Eugene character. I thought it was in bad taste also and I hope they kill that storyline fast. |

Last I read about the Eugene char he was getting good fan support in the house shows and the mangement was big on him. I doubt he's going anywhere any time soon.
A quote from Steveswrestling.com Quote:
And supposedly Goldust was having fun with the stuttering gimic. Though your right it was a shame to see what he became in last few months of his WWE career. Does anyone like this heel turn by Booker T? I'm still waiting to see how it plays out myself. Edit: I might be a bit behind, but I just found out the WWE is supposedly going to bring back the WCW now instead of the ECW. They even have plans to have a PPV called Great American Bash in June. Personally I'd love to see the the Four Horsemen make a come back if they actually created a new fed.

Seperate threads for TNA I just hope I get fox sports
The Eugene Character is in bad taste, but He's All good in my book for doing the bushwackers impression and licking King's face. Thats 5 star entertainment there... I've never liked Booker T, So I'm glad he's a heel. I like the "I'm getting screwed over and I'm pissed" attitude.

I think the Booker turn works only if it is the catalyst for a new WCW or ECW since it revolves around the Smackdown! is the minor leagues premise. If not it just wrecks what little credibility Smackdown has these days [the show has been horrible the last month or so, while Raw has been ON].

I'd have fun with Goldust's gimmick too; there's not much that I would enjoy more than yelling obsenities on live television, then can pass it off because I was portraying someone with turrets.
Booker T...I don't get SmackDown!, so I can't really judge. I think it'd be interesting if he brought in WCW, but that feeling wouldn't last for long because I remember how the WCW Invasion went.

I am fascinated by the constant rumors of Vince bringing back ECW or WCW or NWA or the AWA or Mid-South or anything else.
I LOVE wrestling and have for the last 25 years.....BUT...I would be stunned if McMahon ever did anything that didn't have the WWE/WWF brand all over it. His large ego is what has made him successful and turned a regional promotion into the media entity that it is today. His large ego is what will prevent him from ever giving a push to something that he didn't create. Remember the initial WCW "invasion"?? It was led by Shane McMahon....it eventually had Steve Austin attached to it. Although it would be fun to see, I'm not holding my breath.

as for the Women's division:
I liked crazy, disturbed Victoria better than happy, shiny Victoria. Trish is slowly, but surely getting comfortable in her role as a Heel. Lita needs to go back to the visible thong look... and lose the tattoo! Molly... geez, hope she got a big, fat paycheck to make up for that buzzcut! Gail Kim -- very cute, but needs a better gimmick. Stacy should reprise her role as Ms. Hancock (from WCW days). Torrie, Sable & Dawn Marie need to go back to wrestling school. Nidia and Jackie should just stage a series of wet t-shirt contests! and, though she's not offically a wrestler... I'd like to see Lillian Garcia get more involved in the storylines. I think the main reason I don't fully commit to watching Smackdown is because whenever I glance over my shoulder at the TV I see Chavo, or Bradshaw, or Rikishi, or Charlie Haas....... no one that catches my interest. However when RAW is on, I'm constantly bombarded with stars such as Ric Flair, HBK, HHH, Jericho, The Dudleyz, etc. These wrestlers aren't just good in the ring, but they are usually attached to an interesting angle. Really the bottom line is this: RAW is entertaining because it has both stars and storylines. Smackdown doesn't have the stars OR the storylines and is therefore................ boring.

WWE seriously needs some new writer's or something. They need to learn how to take the talented people they have and make them worth having on TV. I mean I hate seeing someone as good as Matt Hardy being reduced to nothing but Kane's punching bag. It's really sad. Raw is obviously superior to SmackDown though, which is why the WWE either needs to even out the rosters, or just kill the whole Brand Extention angle all together. The way this whole Brand thing is going right now, only a matter of time before SmackDown is reduced to nothing but Nunzio and Chavo Guererro Jr. matches all over the place or more JBL rants on about how we should strive to be like him, yaya etc. I dunno, but it's really sad what they're doing, lol.
Until we meet again. . .

I'm so bored with wrestling right now, it's sad. I was the biggest fan for years, and now I can watch the first 3-4 minutes of the show and just by seeing the card for the night, I can predict the winners and storyline outcomes.
WWE needs something...Anything to freshen up the stale atmosphere they have right now. And It's certainly not bradshaw... Fuck...Who's he sucking off in the upper management to get a title push? What about some of the lesser guys? Like Shelton Benjamin? This guy as a singles wrestler is amazing. I hated the World's greatest tag team and the team angle thing, but since he's been out on his own, I like what I see. I think he could be the future of the WWE and they should take that and run with it. Hopefully if they do, they won't turn all his matches into squashes or some horribly predictable side show, like the Brock Lesnar/One Legged Kid thing. Or Eugene. Are the bookers and writers on crack? What's with this retard gimmick? I think they may be mocking themselves to show that even a retard can get over in the WWE with the right kind of push. I'm done

You are right on with the Shelton Benjamin thing, too. I hated the World's Whiniest Tag Team, but Shelton is awesome by himself. He is taltented and seems to be able to work the crowd pretty well. Now I just hate Charlie Haas.

<---------- I've been saying Shelton Benjamin is awesome for how long? And how long did people think I was crazy here?
heh, can I call it or what? As for Charlie Haas, I realized that he isn't as bad as I previously thought. When you are teamed with someone of Shelton's caliber, you always look bad. I'll give him (Haas) props for being an above average wrestler. He can probably handle a larger wrestling move repertoire, as he can perform the basic maneuvers reasonably well. Oh yeah. His current character does suck. But it should change later on, when he's allowed to have a character more like how he is in real life (unless this is how he really is, then there is no hope for him at all)

Real quick gimmick idea...
Rock, Mick Foley, Val Venis and Brock Lesnar team up... The Rock, Sock, Cock, and Brock Connection!!! Btw, I got tickets for Bad Blood in June, and Raw the night after, so that should be fun.

After last night, I'm diggin' the Eugene gimmick. I like despite Bischoff (and Regal) wanting Eugene to lose, he still pulled out the win, while staying in character. On top of that, he was pretty over with the crowd. I still have a few doubts about the gimmick, and Nick Dinsmore is going to have to lose it at some point if he's going to be taken seriously. No upper card wrestler can still be credible after losing to a "very special wrestler". Look at how long it's taken Matt Hardy to get TV time after losing to Zach Gowen (where is he, by the way?)
I figured HHH/Benjamin #3 was going to be a way for HHH to get a sketchy win, and get his heat back. I was a little off. Shelton didn't get anything out of the match, it was booked to lead into an HHH/HBK match. At least that means that HHH probably won't be getting a title shot next week, unless HBK forces his way into that, making the Bad Blood main event Benoit/HHH/HBK - The Real Final Encounter, Just Like How The Eagles Are Done Touring Now. |

I can just imagine what the storyline for Regal and Eugene is. Regal slowly starts to accept Eugene. Bischoff, still angry at Regal, manipulates Eugene into believing that Regal is his enemy, and that Bischoff is the only one that loves him. Then Eguene and Regal go on to headline the next wrestlemania in a 5 star classic ironman match. Hey, I have dreams too! Another Eugene item: His theme kinda reminds me of something you would hear from a Nintendo game. Like from Kirby's stage in Smash Bros. Melee or something. Once he turns evil, it can turn all demented and stuff, like they did with ~Evil~ Doink. |

Some comments about RAW last night.
I have already voiced my opinion reagarding the use of Eugene as comedy. However, much to my dismay, I actually enjoyed his match. No, not because of his "character" but because it actually featured....... wrestling! Every single move wasn't an irish whip into the ropes, and when was the last time you saw someone win a match wiith a BRIDGE!? Also, did Gail Kim get a boob job? THE Jericho/Christian cage match as ok... had a good few moments, but somehow I was just expecting more. It'll be interesting to see if Trish leaves Christian now since he bailed on her when she was in the Walls. I think RAW is finally back on an upward trend, but we'll see how long that lasts.
