I could look at this post all day. I love all of your photos of your pets. Here is a newer one of my cat. Someone told me when he was a little that if I started rubbing his belly when he was small, he would get used to it and not scratch at me. Not only does he not scratch at me, but he purposely lies down on his back so we can rub his belly.

Don't worry, I cleaned the table after this.

Y'all, I got the BEST c'mas present EVER! I finally got pictures to post of my new baby!!!

I was shopping for a stud for my female miniature dachshund, and the offer of a lifetime fell in my lap for another dog.

So, without further ado, I introduce...

Dino!!!

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...s/pic12525.jpg

And a shot of all three of my babies, in lovely, rare, harmony AND sitting still together in one place so I can take a picture:

I always enjoy your pictures, very well taken. ^_^

bernadette 01-08-2006 05:44 PM

Cool! Dalmation is an integral part of the mix in australian cattle dogs. So... Cleo got a double dose of the spots! Right on. :D

Got it right the first time. The red one is male... I had him neutered when he was a puppy... I love him very much, but as far as AKC standards for the breed go, he leaves a lot to be desired, and so is not a candidate to stud. My female, the black and tan one with the white spots, meets breed standard beautifully, with the exception of the white (she's a double dapple) which is not a disqualifying trait, but not particularly desirable. And the new one, Dino, is dead on breed standard. I'm looking forward to seeing if their genetics will produce the puppies I think they will.

She's a black and white pom. I have a puppy pic. up of her on p. 10, post # 386 ;) And she's 8 pounds of lovin' and doesn't consider herself small :) hehe

Most poms. can be quite 'talkative', but we've been very pleased, she's quiet, sweet, good with the kids that visit and responds well to training... she's been a happy addition to our little fur-family :)

This is Jericho and Rupert snuggling on the couch. They've got a bit of a checked past. Rupert was our 2nd cat, after Fletcher drowned at christmas last year, trapped under the ice on our neighbour's pool. My gf picked up Rupert at the pet store about a 2 weeks later, because I was away at work, and she was devastated and the house was so empty without Fletcher. So Rupert was the dominant cat in the house, when we bought Jericho home. She had been trapped in the wild at a grain elevator, abused (she's missing teeth and she's terrified of men) and left to languish in the animal shelter for 6 months before we saw her. She had a uterine infection when we got her and her first trip in the car with us was to the vet for emergency surgery, even before she had met Rupert. When we got her home finally, she cried for the first 3 days, while hiding under the bed, and then she discovered the basement, and she hid for the next two weeks under the bicycles, and all the while Rupert pestered her constantly. Just when we thought the two of them would hate each other forever, something clicked between them, and they've been like this ever since. Jericho is still very skittish, she'll hide from strangers, but the only time she cries now, is when she can't find Rupert.

Rupert and Jericho Part Two

Rupert was sleeping on the couch last night, and Jericho climbed over him, lay down between his paws and nuzzled him till he woke up and started to groom her. After about 5 minutes of mutual grooming (necking), they were so comatose, I was able to grab the camera and get some shots. If you look closely, Jericho looks like she is smiling!

bernadette 03-15-2006 10:54 PM

real nice, Grancey. meow x4 ! :)

Fly, Shadow is just awesome -- your pic's perspective makes her look like a giant!! :D

We drove up to the mountain last Saturday. My two silly guys got to see snow for the very first time ever -- needless to say they loved it! i'm slowly learning a new camera, so i didn't get as many fun pics as i should've... but here's one anyway.

I got this great shot of Rupert and Jericho sleeping on my IKEA chair yesterday. Usually they sleep on separate chairs, but when they curl up together, I can't help myself but take a few pics.

did you photoshop the sweater on Gabe??

bernadette 03-17-2006 10:09 PM

Nope, Fly. Gabriel really wore an honest to goodness knit sweater, cuz he gets cold easily.

Those kitties are pretty & sweet, Lucifer. i used to have a couple of sweet cats that snuggled all the time. :)

Hey Grancey, My Dewey looks a lot like your guy on the chair - right down to the reddish/orange spots. Maybe they're related? Dewey has pretty dubious origins so you never know. :D

They are so well behaved. I have them on "vocal leashes." They are rather spoiled though. I can't count how many people have said that when they come back, they wanna come back as one of my dogs.

astrahl 03-22-2006 11:39 AM

Samantha a couple of years before we adopted Kaida.

Here's Pepe. He's a blast.
Does anyone know a surefire way to litterbox train a ferret?
I also have two guinea pigs and a female yellow lab named Charlie. But Pepe is the latest addition.

That reddish/orange spot is so close..... Dewey is a true sweetie with beautiful eyes, and my Sophie is a thinker... But from the backside they could be twins. Sophie was adopted from my local vet a year ago Christmas. She doesn't purr, but she kind of puffs...

Fly....that was the first day I opened the windows and the babies went bonkers. I'm guessing they had spied the bunny that lives in the yard, but it could have been the woodpecker, a finch or one of the crazy skwerls...

Sweetpea 03-23-2006 12:12 AM

What a beautiful cat Grancey!

fresnelly 03-25-2006 05:22 PM

I can't believe I haven't posted here yet.

From left to right, this is Scoop and Frickle after a hard days work.

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/139_3985.jpg

Lucifer 03-25-2006 05:59 PM

Is one male and one female? Cause Frickle seems to be about twice the size of Scoop. Frickle has such a haughty expression, I love it.

fresnelly 03-25-2006 06:20 PM

Yeah, Frickle is male and pretty fricken big, but Scoop is actually pretty close in size. Most of her bulk is just hidded behind him.

Fly 03-25-2006 09:52 PM

nice cats fresnelly.........i need one down here for the mice.

the dog just ain't quick enough all the time.

TivaBella 03-25-2006 10:24 PM

My other cat, Sydney (I haven't posted a picture of him yet), is the best mouser I know. We had a little problem with mice in my building a couple of years back. I woke up one night to the sound of him charging around my bedroom. When I turned on the light to see what was going on he was tossing a dead mouse up in the air and watching it drop. He had the funniest look on his face as if to say, "Come on, what's wrong with you? You were playing with me a minute ago!"

The mouse must have passed a message on to his buddies before he died, because that was the last time we've seen a mouse in the building.

aberkok 03-25-2006 10:28 PM

Alright...without further ado, the oldest and youngest, from left to right - Tigger and Miles:

bernadette 03-27-2006 10:35 PM

Oh wow Tropic! Congratulations!
Excuse my ignorance, but is that a horse, mule or what?
5 days old & nearly all legs, but standing tall & pretty.
Bob, do you have a perspective shot, like with a person or chair or whatever, to get a better idea of her size?

Congrats to you too, Fly. Pretty chickens. Scrambled eggs are good eatin' once in a while.

A mule. Too cute to call her a jackass, yet.

Here's the very protective mother and Dixie. Hope this helps gives you an idea. She is growing fast. Unfortunately, my camera was in the shop the first four days she was around.
