I can't believe I am the only one here who remembers "Eddie & the Cruisers" it was a classic 80's movie. If you bought the soundtrack, it clearly said the real band's name on it.
To give a hint - "brown" was the only thing Sion had right in his guess. The real band's name mirrored the movie band's in that it was (lead singer's name) & the (band name).

Man, GOT, I can't believe it either... It was John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I remember thinking it was another artist because he sounded so much like him. Come to find out, that artist was a huge influence on John.
since I'm at work and can't spend alot of time here... name the artist I'm speaking of.

nope, I'll give you a hint, if you can remember the song that made the top 40 it was "On the Dark Side" That song sounds exactly like something another artist would do.

well, I know who Fee Waybill is. He fronts The Tubes. I know this because not only do I like some of their songs, but I once saw them open for Todd Rundgren's Utopia.
next question is a fill in the blank: "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow Dont be alarmed now. It's just a spring clean for the ___ _____." Who is the spring clean for?

Sorry about the wait on confirmation of a right answer. Internet connection has been giving me fits today.

Jimmy still had some gigs left in his contract as the Yardbirds when he formed Led Zeppelin, so they performed for about a half a year as the "New Yardbirds" Allmusic.com has Plant singing in a band called Hobbstweedle right before joining Page for the New Yardbirds/Led Zeppelin. I would have never dredged that name out of the memory banks.

I knew Zeppelin came from the Yardbirds and Plant joined while (I think) they were already calling themselves The New Yardbirds, but once he joined, they already had the lineup in place that would quickly change its name to Led Zeppelin. I guess I just figured that he was looking for the group Plant was playing with when Page discovered him.

sorry if I jumped in too soon with an answer that wasn't right. I remember something about Hobbstweedle as well but I wouldn't of come up with that without looking it up.
