The answer was Taking Back Sunday. What Flava Flav was doing in that video was anyone's guess.

Ok, here's one: music-lovers that claim Joe Perry of Aerosmith is a guitar god often point to the solos in Train Kept-a-Rollin as an example. Who actually played those solos and several more on that album?

Man.... I have seen Aerosmith a gazillion times and every time I've seen them, Joe plays the leads on "Train..." I'd be interested to know how true this is!

BTW, I'm not downplaying Brad Whitford's playing, he is a great player in his own right. As a matter of fact, he does do his share of leads on all the albums!

This came out in a magazine interview (I think Guitar Player) probably 7 or 8 years ago much to the chagrin of Joe Perry & Aerosmith. It had been a rumor for a long time then when the artists were finally asked directly they spilled it. A good friend of mine, Ty Tabor (Kings X) showed me the article. He claimed he was suspicious all along because of the distinctly different style and tone on some of those songs. More hints?

Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner.
They are probably most noted for their stint with Alice Cooper but they have a huge catalog of work. My favorite thing they did was the intro to Sweet Jane on Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal. Here's a quote: I’ve heard a lot about the Aerosmith experience too - you played on “Train Kept a Rollin,” right? "I was living in New York and I got a call to come into the studio to play some guitar on Aerosmith. I went over and played on three or four tracks. Steve Hunter came over also. We both played on that song beecause Joe Perry…I don’t know why - I guess we were better guitar players at the time - Joe is really good. We were basically studio players for hire. That was their breakout album: Get Your Wings. We didn’t get credit on that album either. Later on, it got out."
