Much congratulations. Looks like a pretty clean kill. Just need to beef up the DPS a little bit so you can kill him about 15 seconds faster.

Ok i got 60 rogue but that makes me to pro at it (im a mage master), but my rogue uses duel daggers in a PvE server, with tons of Agility and Stam + a little attack power and she crits like mad, but thats just my playing style. I tried duel swords and Dagger+Sword but the sneeky rogue is my style, so what ever way you like playing build your Character that way. Might take a couple re-specs but once you get in your groove your set

From me to you, I don't think the problem is DPS. I mean, sure, personally, if I had used more consumables, I could have been doing a bit more damage, but I wouldn't have made the difference. I think the positioning is the problem. Most strategies I've seen direct people to move in one direction, straight to their next position. Our strategy requires two movements. I was suggesting using the 90 degree strategy that you see in most videos because the simple act of getting into position would cut 2 or 3 seconds of of every transition and would beef up the DPS significantly.

I too like the sneaky rogue.

As you grow, you will discover your playing style. You're level 13. You have time to explore both sword and dagger styles. You have time to mess around with gear and specs, and see what you like best. Like I said, I love my sneaky rogue--she's a level 49, by the way.

I sort of look at the first 59 levels as a probationary period. The game doesn't really start for me until I hit 60. Though, with my hunter, I'm making every effort to create challenges for myself along the way, I still see it as a grind to 60. I can't wait to play at 60.

Burning Crusade Honor System to come in next patch on public servers

One of our users (Aryzel) posted a very interesting and instructive report about the Burning Crusade Honor System to come in the next patch before the expansion.

Aryzel - Blizzard have said there will be a patch before the expansion, it might not be called 1.13, but really who cares about names. Note that like all things blizzard, this is very tentative until it actually happens :P Some things that Blue posters have implied will be in the patch so far.

What 1.13 WILL NOT contain:
No Drenai,
No Blood Elfs,
No Outlands,
No Arena PVP
No leveling up

What 1.13 WILL contain:
New Talents, the full 41 point talent trees, and talent reset.
New PVP Honour System...

http://www.worldofraids.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1076

Thought you guys might like to know that a reputable site that has never been wrong in the past has just released info that the new honor system and new 41-point talents are going to be implemented before BC is actually released. The amount of time required to get Grand Marshal/High Warlord gear is significantly decreased and now requires Marks of Honor and honor points instead of raw honor. Check the links for the juicy info.

Hmmm, yeah, that would certainly do it. Your strategy is QUITE a bit safer than the running straight strategy, though. If one person fucks up in the line strat (that is the one we use) and it's followed by a chain lightning on the side where the person bombed, it's pretty much a wipe. I know nothing about the 90 degree strat, but that is definitely the most common that I've seen most guilds use to good success. I think people will continuously improve at doing the motions, so there will be increasingly less time lost due to moving around.

Either way, it will become less important as you keep killing him since your DPS should continue to increase as people get better and better gear. On a side note, what were your loots?

2 war/rogue helms and the castigator, taken by the MT to go with his fury gear. I think I'm next in line for a beefy 2h weapon, so here's hoping Severance or CUM drops.

By the way, how smooth your computer runs WoW makes me want to cry. In that fight, my computer is having a shitfit and I spent most of the time praying I don't lag out and blow people up. We've only seen one or two severances, but we had really good luck with getting dark edges, so most of the warriors that want an axe have DEoI anyway. Definitely seen more than our fair share of CUMs, though. Those go for min to whoever wants one. Wish I'd waited to get mine, though, since I definitely overpaid. Oh well.

I'm fiending for a DEoI, but we haven't killed C'thun. In fact, we've only touched AQ40 once in the last 5 weeks. I really really really want that weapon.

And yeah.. the new computer is a fuckin beast. That video was taken originally at 1600x1200, recording 60 frames per second.

To sum it up, I can multitask like crazy and experience almost no slowdown with the exception of disk reading and rendering conflicts. One night, I forgot to close out Hitman: Blood Money after I minimized it, and I raided Naxx and.. totally did not notice a difference.

I was playing AV with my lvl 52 hunter today. It was hilarious. Now, first you say, "Dude, don't even queue for AV until you hit 60, you're only hurting the game." However, I beg to differ! I was doing everything in my power to contribute to the game!

Got 17kbs, and only 8 deaths. Played defense most of the time, making sure the base was held down.

In one hilarious sequence, there was a priest in our tower, trying to cap it. I ran up to him and set a freezing trap to stun him, then recapped the tower. I ran away and he hit it again... and I ran up to him again and froze him. This kept repeating... he didn't seem to want to chase after me when I ran away. Eventually I couldn't stun him for long enough due to diminishing returns, however by then, the stream of text "East Frostwolf Tower is under attack by the Alliance." "East Frostwolf Tower has been taken by the Horde." over and over and over had gotten the attention of my teammates and he was then mobbed and killed. I was laughing my ass off the entire time.

See, you dont have to be 60 to do your job in AV. I just wish I had the sense to capture it on video 'cause it woulda made for a great show.

If you know what you're doing in AV and you're not 60 yet I wouldn't have a problem. It's just the morons that rushed into Field of Strife or whatever it was called, to die over and over and have a stalemate. I never did like AV though, I just got exalted ASAP for my mount and TUF and got the hell outta there. World PvP > BG, imo!

funny thing, with my 60 mage, I never (ever) won an AV, not once. He is exalted, and has the off hand (tome of the icelord) from there, and I never plan on taking him back inside. Now, with my 57 druid, I have never lost an AV. Not once. I have the cold forged hammer, and I should be honered by tonight. It's a strange turn of events that has made AV so alliance favored, on bleeding hollow, before the battle groups, alliance never won. Now, it seems, if we don't win, it's either 21 vs 40, or 20 alliance AFK.

I would like to add that 50-59 AB is fun. No epic mounts anywhere, and killing lvl 50 locks makes my heart happy.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT®: THE BURNING CRUSADE™
IN STORES JANUARY 16, 2007

Street date set for the expansion to Blizzard Entertainment®'s massively multiplayer online role-playing game as subscriber base reaches 7.5 million players worldwide
IRVINE, Calif. –– November 9, 2006 –– Blizzard Entertainment® announced today that World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade™, the highly anticipated expansion to the world's leading subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft, will be in stores on January 16 in North America and Europe. The expansion will be available in a similar time frame in Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore as well, and availability for mainland China and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau will be announced in the near future. In addition, Blizzard today announced that the subscriber base for World of Warcraft has reached a new milestone, with 7.5 million players worldwide.

"While World of Warcraft has continued to grow rapidly along with its player population, The Burning Crusade will represent our single largest addition of new game content and new features to date," said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "With this expansion, we're looking forward to offering the same level of quality that players have experienced in World of Warcraft so far, and we'll continue balancing and play-testing up until launch to ensure that The Burning Crusade achieves that goal."

In World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, players will be able to advance their characters up to level 70, unlocking a world of power and possibilities along the way. Additional features coming in The Burning Crusade include two new playable races (the Blood Elves and the Draenei), flying mounts, new talents and abilities for all character classes, the new jewelcrafting profession, new magical weapons and armor, and many enhancements to player-vs.-player action. The expansion will also lead veteran players through the fabled Dark Portal and into Outland, former homeworld of the Orcs and site of a series of cataclysmic events that helped shape the history of the Warcraft® universe. In this shattered world, players will encounter new challenges and dangers in the form of new outdoor zones, quests, dungeons, never-before-seen monsters, and much more. Over the course of their new adventures in The Burning Crusade, players will grow in experience and power as they uncover the rich lore and mysteries of Outland and do battle with the demonic forces of The Burning Legion.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will be available at retail stores nationwide for Windows® 2000/XP and Macintosh® formats at a suggested retail price of $39.99. A special Collector's Edition of the expansion will also be available, at a suggested retail price of $69.99. This limited-edition package will include the expansion on both CD-ROM and DVD, the Art of the Burning Crusade coffee table book, an exclusive in-game pet, a behind-the-scenes DVD, two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game starter decks and three exclusive cards, a map of Outland mouse pad, and the official soundtrack CD. The World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion requires the original World of Warcraft game, which is now selling for a suggested retail price of $19.99. World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade has received a Teen rating from the ESRB.

For more information on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, please visit the official website for the expansion at www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade.

so the expansion ALONE is going to cost 40 bucks? can someone explain to me why that is not crazy? I guess it's the fact that millions of people are going to pay it anyway. then can someone explain to me why that doesn't make those millions of people crazy? even sony never tried something like that.

That's because Sony spits out expansions every 6 months and Blizzard hasn't released a single one yet. They give out content for free every content patch (usually a lot of stuff) and then have one major expansion instead of adding miniscule details to the game for $19.99 every few months. I remember when EQ2 came out that an expansion for it already released like 3 months after it debuted. 3 months?? Having expansions come out twice a year for $19.99 is just the same as having 1 expansion come out after TWO years for $39.99. Most MMOs have expansions way more distributed than WoW.

*EDIT*

Wow, it's way worse than I thought. EQ2 is on the virge of releasing their THIRD expansion, with 3 "Adventure Packs" already released. That makes 6 buyable content expansions compared to WoW's 1.

that's true, I guess I'm really thinking about back in the day when EQ was still actually on roughly one expansion per year, and I guess they had some expansions in the range of $30 too. still, I would expect a metric buttload of content with the expansion, like as much as the original game for the same or nearly the same price, so maybe it'll be different. you'll have to excuse me, any talk about Blizzard's and Vivendi's money gets me fired up.

The biggest complaint I had and many people have about WoW is the lack of content. You really can't fault a company for putting out content.

Of course you can't. That's not the debate. The debate is whether charging $40 for 1 expansion every 2 years is fair. Yes, it is. I'm all for expansions and add-ons, but complaining about the price of them when they're so far apart isn't fair.

content schmontent. I'd even go so far as $/hr entertainment it's by far the best value.

even at $39.99 and $168/year you are hard pressed to find something that can give you as much entertainment hours for just over $200

Wow....warriors got hit in the face with the nerfbat next patch. Rage is now normalized. I tested it out in closed beta in BC, and my rage from a 1500 damage crit on cloth went from 45 to 20. A sad day indeed.

good! you guys need it. Warriors were waaaaay overpowered. Even in all epics, my mage still got 1-2 shot if I wasn't careful. You hit hard. You take a fuck ton of damage, and there is no way a caster can do anything about the damage you do to us, where as a mage/lock/priest/druid stands in stark contrast in the fact that you can wear +resistance gear and negate most of our damage. Where is the + physical resistance? Armor? on cloth? The mage barely has 1600 armor. which is at most 20% DR. Dodge maybe? again, no cloth with +dodge at endgame. I guess I could wear everyting "of the falcon" and get some swamp rings and necks "of eluding", but damn, i'd be one gimp ass mofo.

In conclusion nerf locks and warriors.

In conclusion nerf locks and warriors.
the problem with warriors is they only become overpowered when they're epicced out. Think about all the non-epic warriors who this is gonna hurt REALLY bad who will be even more gimped then before.

The only time ANY warrior is overpowered is when he has extremely good gear and is attacked by 2+ people on the battlefield with a healer. Then shit gets a bit crazy. But anyone who attacks a warrior and not his healer is simply asking for it.

So, I got the weapon I've been after. Claymore of Unholy Might. Its very nice. Too bad, though. I'm very close to quitting. Just got a job.

Last night was fucking horrendous. We were working on Loatheb. After we got the strategy down, we went to get world buffs. Nef head buff, Hakkar heart buff, northpass tower.. everything. I had 2300 AP, 7k health. When I got the Fungal Bloom buff, I had 96% crit. Mages were flasked and everyone was buffed to the teeth.

We had Loatheb to 45% at the first Doom.

Then, the server lagged out and 80% of the raid disconnected.

*cry*

Congrats on your big purple metal thingy! We can carve a swath through the horde sparkling together.

That's really rough on Loatheb, but at least you know you have the strat down. Just have to buff up again and take him down. And then hope that unseen forces drops.
