So I just had to look at your "public profile" and noticed you are a handsome guy, so I suspect you might just be in one of those time periods everyone goes through where things are not where you would like. I've been through more than a few of those times so I'm sure things will change for the better if you want them to.

Who doesn't want that?
Knowing I'm not one of them
won't leave me alone.

carrot glace 05-20-2011 08:43 PM

i didn't understand
not that its upsetting
positivity received?

is that a haiku? i never know

Ourcrazymodern? 05-21-2011 07:40 AM

Positivity receiving,
so there can't be confusions unshared,
life remains a beauty thing.

BadNick 05-21-2011 10:29 AM

I'm now on the beach in Avalon, NJ where my nephew is getting married in about 2 hours from now. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of the ladies walk on the beach in high heels. Btw, contrary to most weather reports it's 72F out now, there is a refreshing cool breeze and the sky is bright and clear.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-21-2011 10:56 AM

Kiss the bride for me.
The sacredness of marriage
is up for debate.

carrot glace 05-21-2011 08:53 PM

i hate texas hold'em

Zooksport2 05-22-2011 12:54 AM

I wouldn't mind holding a Texan...

Fuck y'all.
Timing's limiting.
Spacing flows.

BadNick 05-22-2011 05:14 PM

I kissed the bride, and also my nephew the groom. High heels weren't a problem since everyone was barefoot.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-22-2011 05:32 PM

NICE picture, BadNick!
The weather picture-perfect?
Sand's a fine substrate.

BadNick 05-22-2011 05:54 PM

Thanks, Ocm?.

On another note, I got the two Klondike Gold azaleas I ordered from Meadowbrook Farm. They are the two yellow/orange/goldish ones on my step.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ondikeGold.jpg

One is for my mom and one is mine. Something I didn't know is that unlike most common azaleas which are evergreen, these are deciduous. Apparently there is something about the biology of deciduousness that produces unique colors not found in the evergreen varieties.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-22-2011 06:42 PM

Near the forty-fifth,
azaleas lose their leaves.
Rhododendrons don't.

I admire them both.
Some blooming here this springtime
are magnificent.

Longest Thread Ever....

Came upon this "Longest Thread Ever" and thought it would have many subjects! I can't even list how many different subjects were introduced in the 30 or so pages I read so..(No, I could not devote enough time to read them all!) But the ones I liked best were these last about the haiku, golden orange azaleas and the perfect wedding in the sand. (Mention to the family it brought a smile!) And I'm sure I missed some good subjects! I'll be back! I am a posting member of the longest ebay rant ever they are threatening to pull, and I was wondering how long threads get. Yours is a good one! But what is even more interesting is you are closing in on the 100,000th posting on the entire forum! Should have a party!

Ourcrazymodern? 05-23-2011 06:45 AM

Happy to see you!
Come back often & posting,
& join in the fun.

Nice to hear from you,
emoevo, and I hope
to see you back soon

That's a BadNick version of peg-leg haiku...a little limpy but still getting along.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-23-2011 09:01 AM

Some days I'd rather
be walking on a peg leg
than my own bum foot.

(Look, I got triple sevens! What do I win?)

BadNick 05-23-2011 01:43 PM

I'm surprised I haven't posted this pic yet in this thread since I'm pretty sure I posted it in at least one other thread here, maybe two. But it's never too late to make amends so here it is ...actually now that I look at it I'd say it tasted better than this pic makes it look so perhaps it's not as photogenic of a sandwich as some others I've known:

That pic makes it look
like it makes my mouth water
as well as dlish.

I was here all day today, drove as fast as I could, had a great time, nobody got hurt, didn't blow up my car. Burma Shave.

BadNick 05-25-2011 07:06 AM

How are you today, Ocm??

Ourcrazymodern? 05-25-2011 01:19 PM

I dunno, BadNick,
I raced down the highway today,
sans satisfaction.

BadNick 05-25-2011 04:59 PM

Maybe if you try rolling down the highway instead of racing? I know when I just resolve myself to being at peace and in no hurry and just roll into work, I feel more satisfied when I get there than if I was racing and in a hurry and getting impatient with people getting in my way. Either that or if you're into public transportation, take the peace train.

Ourcrazymodern? 05-26-2011 03:52 PM

Racing, in that case,
not exceeding speed limits...
sometimes it feels fast.

(I guess I'm getting old or something.)

BadNick 05-26-2011 06:02 PM

Do you know anyone alive who is not getting older?

Ourcrazymodern? 05-27-2011 02:14 PM

A fine, valid point,
& quite lovingly given,
& taken to heart.

Mother Nature chose this bleakly beautiful Arctic landscape to leave her mark in the form of a stunning heart-shaped lake. It has emerged
as climate change melted the glacier that covered the area. Blocks of ice trapped during the glacier’s retreat caused the ground to cave
in, creating a heart-like hollow, some 120ft by 90ft, that then filled with rainwater or snow melt.

The picture was taken by French photographer Bruno Mazodier on Spitsbergen, the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago.

Such perfect comfort,
inordinate joy's bearings,
encompass us all.

...don't we wish

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...rsislonger.jpg

Ourcrazymodern? 05-28-2011 08:01 AM

Haha, BadNick.

We all assume things,
left & right & not middling,
around enjoinings.

We all assume things,
but it shames those few of us
who can't accept them.

I've come to a point
where I don't care what's longer:
I just love this thread!

BadNick 05-28-2011 08:15 PM

...more than just a game for two

Ourcrazymodern? 05-29-2011 01:44 PM

Games for only two
have their place in life, I guess.
I prefer dogpiles.

(excellent song choice, BadNick.)
(Have you read I think<3 is a piss-poor symbol for love?)

BadNick 05-29-2011 03:04 PM

I don't know if you mean there is something specific I might read about that, which I haven't, or if you mean that you don't like that symbol.

In any case, I don't like it since why would I want to represent "love" with what is at best a tipped over heart symbol?

Ourcrazymodern? 05-31-2011 10:05 AM

My vague disturbance,
meant to be all-inclusive,
ain't much like a cruise.

...sorry.

BadNick 05-31-2011 06:06 PM

I hope I didn't post this already...I think I haven't. I like this pic (found, not mine).

A pigeon in Philadelphia:

Jetée 05-31-2011 07:22 PM

Apparently, the above photograph is quite the popular one.

it's entitled "Puddle in Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia", and is authored by one Michael Penn.

I originally just wanted to post this and skedaddle.

-- (to note: This happened just this past week, I think.)

BadNick 05-31-2011 07:39 PM

Wow! Super Mom!

Jet, thanks for noting the source of the pigeon pic. I think that's actually where I found it (flickr) but I forgot the source since I didn't note it when I saved it.

Jetée 05-31-2011 07:48 PM

I'm actually making it an endeavour to, at the very least, look at all the mountains of flickr pics, a second time for most, in which I've posted in the TFP throughout the years, and seeing if I can 'flickr fav' them.

BadNick 06-01-2011 05:12 PM

I took this pic earlier today to remind me to go back and have a tripe sandwich soon. George's is on corner of 9th and Christian Sts.
