May I please reply;

I like sausages.

Must I otherwise,
I can easily do that,

My reply would be:

Fast fact for us sausage lovers:

What was the world's longest sausage?

Asda Stores Plc. of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK wanted a sausage and J.J. Tranfield was just the man to make it. J.J. Tranfield spent October 27 to 29, 2000 putting together the world's longest sausage and when he was done the wiener measured 36.75 miles or 59.14 kilometers. Sorry, no picture of the world's longest sausage, Ourcrazymodern? ate it. But as a consolation prize, here's a little pic of quite a large one:

gg,
strangely enough...or not...a new pizza joint opened near my house a couple weeks ago...I think it's called Pappi's Pizza. So I got one last week and it was very good, so a couple days later I decided to try another variety of their pizzas, it was also very good. Now the connection to your meatlessness above is that they use only meatless sausage...even on their pies with pepperoni or chicken, the sausage is always meatless.

Perhaps also, I will re-enact a doublepost, if willing.

hehehe. Good one Jewels.
BadNick, perhaps the owner prefers the taste of soypperoni.

I found you a recipe so you can make your own.
Quote:
Veggeroni (Seitan Pepperoni)

Dry ingredients:

1 1/4 cup vital wheat gluten
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
2-3 teaspoons Spanish smoked paprika
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (use more for spicier pepperoni)
3/4 teaspoons mustard seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Wet ingredients:

2 tablespoons cashew butter (may substitute peanut butter or tahini)
2/3 cup water
4 tablespoons ketchup or tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
1/4 teaspoon agave nectar (optional, but definitely use if you use tomato sauce)

Preheat oven to 325 F. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Put the cashew butter in a smaller bowl, and slowly mix in the water. Add the remaining wet ingredients to the small bowl and blend well.

Pour the wet mixture into the dry, stirring well (use your hands if necessary). Remove from the bowl and knead for a few minutes, making sure ingredients are distributed well.

Roll into a log shape, about 7 inches long. Place the log on foil and roll it up in the foil, twisting the ends to seal. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, turning over after 45 minutes.

Remove from oven and unwrap to cool. Slice as needed and store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap in the fridge.

Notes:

This fit perfectly in my toaster oven, so I didn't have to heat up the whole kitchen.

I sliced it and used it as-is on pizza, pita pizza, wraps, and sandwiches, but you may want to slice it and pan-fry it to give it more of a real pepperoni feel.

Makes 6-8 servings. Based on 8 servings: 202 Calories (kcal); 5g Total Fat; (21% calories from fat); 33g Protein; 8g Carbohydrate; 0g Cholesterol; 347mg Sodium; 2g Fiber.

My two boys and I are usually very carnivorous, but whenever we stroll down South Steet in Philly, we end up at Maoz. They're a chain started in Philly so this is their first place, I've heard of others in Europe, like Amsterdam, and they're starting to expand around the U.S...but this is the only one I've been in. Everything at Maoz tastes great and is all vegetarian...the best falafel, all sorts of great toppings and dressings; I get it stuffed into a pita bread with garlic yogurt dressing, fried eggplants and califlower, couscous, some of almost every topping.

Sounds quite decadent.

I enjoy making my own falafel and tahini sauce. I make up a big batch of batter and freeze it pre-formed into patties to cook up quick.

GG's Falafel:
(makes ~16 2" diameter patties, feeds 4-6)
1 Can garbanzo beans/chickpeas, puree in a food processor or blender
1/2 large yellow onion, diced
4 Tablespoons baking flour
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper
1 Teaspoon cumin or curry powder
Mix in bowl. Form into patties or balls. Freeze a minimum of 10 minutes before frying, so they maintain their shape.

Tahini Sauce is quick and easy. All you need is:
Dash of Dill
1/2 cucumber, diced
1 small container plain yogurt

We always have pita bread and salad greens on hand to enjoy.

gg, I'll try that since I'm drooling now

Talk about pita bread and salad greens on hand, yesterday for dinner we had spaghetti with some really really good tomato sauce and meatballs, but I wanted a salad with it; so I wouldn't have to juggle two plates while I read the newspaper while eating, I stuffed a Greek salad with feta into a pita bread and ate that with my spaghetti....what a very convenient salad holder! I'll do that one again.

There is a farm near where I live,
That sells organic meat from grass-fed animals bearing hoofs,
not the goats though.

I rarely end up having enough red meat to cook,
cuz I eats most of it raw.

Hey OCM?, I need to show you 'round Philly sometime,
I think BadNick and who ever else would love to join would enjoy that too,
maybe someday we could have an East Coast Meet.

That reminds me,

ring,
East Coast Meet would be cool, you guys should come out. FYI, today we bought 120 PA Power Play lottery tickets..so if we win, the whole meets on me...or is it meats?...OK, both.

The first time I saw Billy he came walking out of a cloud. He had a pistol in each hand and a scared look on his rough young face. The cloud drifted in from the plains earlier in the morning and stopped over the Hidden Mountains, in the country of the Messy Apaches -- that was what buffalo hunters called the Mescalero...

"No, I'm just from Philadelphia," I said. He was not the first person to make the Mississippi joke.

Having grown up in the Polish heartland neighborhood of Philadelphia, Port Richmond, I've had many varieties of kielbasa, including many store-bought and many home-made versions. Until the last couple of years, I was a die-hard fan of Czerw's, but now adays I've come to prefer Swiacki's. These are some awesome kielbasis; they also sell other excellent Polish and Eastern European foodstuffs.
