I love you, Chris. But I figured you'd be asleep by now...seeing how you're in boring Youngstown. Or maybe it's not? What's to do in YT?

Motel Hell! ...check that flick out

cdwonderful 10-11-2009 05:26 PM

seen it! great flick

Jetée 10-11-2009 06:05 PM

I have not seen it. Is it a great flick?

cdwonderful 10-11-2009 06:35 PM

delightfully campy and somewhat disturbing....
you will never look at "down home" cooking quite in the same way.

ring 10-11-2009 06:50 PM

The last lane On The Left,
should be avoided - voided,
no matter the cost.

Jetée 10-11-2009 06:50 PM

It doesn't involve cannibals and an incestous village, does it? 'Cause if so, I might have seen this film already, and it is indeed campy, as well as was a regrettable experience watching the entire thing.

---------- Post added at 10:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 PM ----------

you bumped me

cdwonderful 10-11-2009 07:30 PM

no, it involves food production in a highly creative way....

BadNick 10-11-2009 07:47 PM

and if that "one" isn't enough to satiate you, try 200!!!

Jetée 10-11-2009 07:49 PM

All the ball birds win.

No way! Yes way!

Cards, Eagles, Falcons, and Seahawks. I may be missing a team that has feathers, but it's probably in the AFC. (ah, I was right, the Ravens nearly didn't lose.)

cdwonderful 10-11-2009 07:54 PM

I love that movie, nick

BadNick 10-11-2009 07:55 PM

Then it must be true:
birds of a feather flock together
first down flying footballs

I can't argue with that, cd. I'm sort of a Zappa groupie.

Jetée 10-11-2009 07:58 PM

*inserts Zappa song here*

BadNick 10-11-2009 08:02 PM

Jet, that's one of my fav!

Here's another strangee:

Jetée 10-11-2009 08:06 PM

I've got to admit: I've never listened to music before today, or last month.

Seriously, I only own about 40 albums, and they are very sparse and underground, retro, or too far-forward.

I like radio hits that aren't on the radio, though. So I'm bound to increase my album consumption at a later date.

So, Frank Zappa, other than by name or by mustache, is completely foreign to me.

uncle phil 10-12-2009 02:49 AM

zappa was god...then he died...

Fly 10-12-2009 05:27 AM

zappa was bent 3 ways to sunday........that's why i liked him

BadNick 10-12-2009 06:23 AM

i feel too humbled to even talk about how good he was...composer, guitarist, philosopher

Another one I always love is Ry Cooder. I was just playing his album at home (yes, on vinyl) with Goin' To Brownsville and cranked up to shake the house it's highly enjoyable...probably nice when quieter, too. Base drum and kick ass mandolin. This is not from the album but gives you the idea:

Fly 10-12-2009 06:58 AM

damn fine tune Nick..........thank you

Just like Freddie...

If you guys ever just want to drop a album cover as a vague recommendation, I'd appreciate it.

I'm always looking for new albums and artists, and anything at all you'd probably offer is something I've never heard before.

uncle phil 10-12-2009 01:21 PM

freddie mercury couldn't carry frank's or ry's jockstrap...(my opinion...)

i'll hunt around for some album covers...
