I've never heard of any of these people: I stopped consuming culture in the 60s and 70s, and started (finally) to discover there were music artists available after Dave Brubeck and the cool jazz era, (at least two decades prior) around 1979-81. By then, it was way too late: I missed the hey-day. It's sort of how I stopped watching the NFL (and all sports) from 1997 until 2006. What is it about me that allows for such disconnects?
