It would be easier for me to list ten (or 100) things I don't like about myself....but let's see if I can come up with ten good things.

1. I'm very loyal, especially to my family. Nobody messes with da family.
2. I'm stubborn. It keeps me working until I get it done/figure it out. Hubby says he's never met a more stubborn woman.

5. I like that I'm sticking with the exercising and losing weight.

Man, this is hard.

6. My eyes. They aren't just one color, but range from green to golden.
7. My reading comprehension. I didn't know until just recently how many people have trouble with this and how lucky I am.

This is very therapeutic. I had to do this when I was in therapy a few years ago. However, I couldn't mention physical things because those could change...although behaviors and attitudes can be modified too I suppose. A few years ago I couldn't think of one good thing about myself. I'm proud that I've come this far that I can list 10.

1) I'm a quick learner and love to learn things.
2) I'm a hard worker and give 100% to things I care about
3) I'm genuine and don't lie about my feelings
4) I'm easy to get along with
5) I'm adaptable..I am able to read people and fit in easily
6) I can talk to anyone
7) I have a lot of motivation
8) I'm organized
9) I'm happy with myself although it's taken along time to be this way
10) I love challenges and seek them out to keep life interesting

There are things I like physically about myself that I'm proud of, like toning and finally getting back in shape. My favorite feature are my eyes.

I love this thread - nice revival!

Starting with the physical...
1. I like my eyebrows. They're blond and are naturally shaped and thin - I never have to pluck them.
2. I like having green eyes.
3. I am proud of my nails because I used to bite them til they bled.
4. I like the scar on my lip. And that it gives me an excuse to point out the really long faint scar on my face and how my mom put my face back together with a butterfly bandage and nothing else and look what a good job she did!
Onto other stuff...
5. I like my low voice.
6. I enjoy knowing another language, even if millions in the world also speak Spanish... that just means I have that many more people I can talk to.
7. I'm happy that I got an A in my Chem lab without having taken the lecture yet... equating to general pleased-ness about my grades since I went back to school.
8. I am opinionated about almost everything, but I think I usually state my opinions without being hurtful.
9. I really can learn anything, and I love knowing why. Even if my explanations are too technical to bother listening to sometimes!
10. I'm really proud of how well I (and Q) trained our cats, and how well I generally get along with animals, children, and people of all types and backgrounds and ages and ...

That wasn't nearly as difficult as it would have been two years ago. There are plenty of things on the list that I don't like, but you can't focus on just one side... that would be too unbalanced, and I AM a Libra, after all...

I agree, this is a great revival. I went back and read the whole thread.
With two sisters and two brothers, I come from a whole family of good lookers, (My Dad's still Hollywood handsome at age 60, Mom's still a size 6 at age 55) so physically I've always felt good about myself. Mostly that's just "the luck of the draw" in getting good genes. I am grateful for that, but not proud---since I had nothing to do with it. I do wish I wasn't so damn short. I'll put the physical first.

1. I am blonde and petite. I have large (but not huge) breasts, lean legs, and a skinny little butt. Hello out there, that makes me blessed, not stupid.
2. I am intelligent, and not afraid to act like it.
3. I have a great love of learning, I am a nerd, and proud of it.
4. I love my parents, siblings, and extended family.
5. I am a TV-phobe. I really just don't like TV, and would much rather read or listen to music than watch TV. This sometimes leaves me at a loss at parties, where the conversation seems to focus on TV shows.

Personally, it is relieving to see this because it seems that woman intentionally act/ choose to be otherwise for reasons of getting ahead or whatever other reasons.

ok, so i too, like many other women, have had a lot of self image problems and still do...which is why i think this is an awesome exercise and wana start off by saying thanks to lurkette

I'll start off by saying what i usually get from people...

1. "My child has never taken to someone so well like he's taken to this girl," said this one lady after church one evening after i was playing with her kid in church. And up comes this other lady who knows me since i was really tiny and says to the lady who's child i was playing with..."but everybody loves mandy, she's the sweetest thing".

i felt really great after that

3. He's constantly telling me how beautiful i am.

4. i cook real good: anything you want, i can make or bake

5. I'm a real good writer.

7. Another thing i always hear from one of the barmen at this bar we always go to is that "mandy is always smiling, you never see her upset even when she is. she's just the friendliest person i know." and he always tells this to the person he's talking to whenever we walk in.
