Going to an international school is always a good way to get to know different music. And sticking to only one or two kinds of music is just too BORING- you know, different music for different occasions: work, drink, do nothing... Anyway. I am going off topic here. See you all around in the other threads! |

Hello. I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but I'm sclocke42, and I'm new here. This is my first post.
A few general things you might be interested in knowing about me: - I am 22 years old, male, and live in Brampton (suburb of Toronto); - I am a Professional Writing major going into my second year at York University; - I enjoy music, thoroughly, with a preference for the rock-/heavy metal-type stuff; - I have many, many hobbies, most of which can be described as 'geeky;' - I am not ashamed to call myself a geek -- I even have a hat that labels me so; and - I have a few real-life friends on this board already, the most notable and the one who persuaded me to sign up for TFP being cellophanedeity, my most lovely and infinitely awesome girlfriend for the past three and a quarter years. I'll put up a Q&A thread in the Tilted Newbs section sometime later today. If you'd like specific answers for things, I'd be more than happy to answer them there. |

Whoops, almost forgot. Personal information.
I'm 40. Male. Outspoken and outgoing. Have a lot of experience on other forums but I'm so busy with other stuff that I don't post as often as I'd like. Very respectful of others. Have been known to react strongly to intolerance however. |

The Q&A thread I had in mind is not for me to ask you guys questions. it's for you to ask me questions. You know, get to know me better, what kind of person I am, what makes me tick. That sort of thing. Though, if tecoyah has any more of those million dollar cheques lying about, I can most certainly make use of that link. Quote:
Thanks for welcoming me aboard. I'm sure we'll get along just fine. Last edited by sclocke42; 08-19-2005 at 09:14 AM.. |

I've been registered a long time, but just now decided to start posting. I've had a few friends refer me here.
I've been on staff at several boards in the past. Currently I own a board of my own that has several hundred members and an active posting base, and am a SuperModerator on a board that is about to break into the BigBoards top 100.

Well okay , then.
Call me the_ref, at least for the moment. A friend of mine thought I'd like this community, sent me the link, and here I am. I have no real expectations, or any unreal one's either, but I do understand the basic concepts of Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, if that is a help |

I joined the board ages ago one night at a mates house after a pretty big rave and totally forgot all about the place until now, I've been looking for somewhere to chat about pretty much anything and everything and this looks like as good a spot as any

Hi feh71, celina, and annie1962:
*waves and warmly shakes hands* I'm Will. welcome to the tfp Annie, In reference to your inquiry, the answer can be found in the TFP policy and guidelines http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=45061 [your tfp experience will be smooth sailing if you read it over a bit] Don't worry about the avatars. They'll come to you eventually, but just focus on your time on the tfp [by the time you are able to get one, it won't matter too much either ] Catcha back on the flipside, keyshawn

Hello
I just want to say hello to everybody and introduce myself. I am a 40-year-old (in denial - mentally feel about 30 or less most of the time) Correctional Officer living in Texas. I am a pretty laid back person with a lot of interests. I am a former military man (US Army - 101st ABN), and aircraft mechanic (Lockheed & DynCorp Aerospace). I got burned out on fixing aircraft, and needed to find employment that would provide a better medical/retirement package than I currently had. So, Corrections seemed like a good choice since I had a couple family members working in the field. I like dealing with people, although I never thought I would be dealing with convicted felons. But, here I am. I enjoy dealing with the younger convicts who think they are bad-asses and then watching their attitudes change when they see I am willing to back up what I say and when the situation dictates use force to keep them in line.
I was an Army brat most of my early childhood, living several years in Europe, and all over the U.S., then in junior high my family finally settled in one place and I finished out my school days in Texas. I was born in Germany, and unlike a lot of people in the region that I live in I was fortunate to have been able to see a lot of the world instead of learning about places in books and television. I joined TFP after happening on a thread while doing a search on Google. I liked what saw, was and am still pretty interested in all I have read on the site so far, and I am looking forward to plenty of interesting reading and interaction with folks. Given the climate I live in, I spend a lot of time in the AC after work cooling off, and when doing so I am usually found at my computer...so since I am here... Well..that ought to do it... back to browsing..
