So...
I'm told all forum roads lead to the TFP eventually. I suppose my arrival has been a long time coming, then. My regular forums have effectively died or become filled with drama. I'm hoping my search for intelligence will hit paydirt here. The name's Ronin. 24. Freethinking American Centrist. I'm here to start the revolution. |

Greetings and handshakes all around. I only found this board about ten minutes ago and knew right away that this was the board for me. So here I am, and soon I'm going to launch myself into one of your discussions and get to know some or all of you.
Some quick info on me: I'm in my 30's, I live in Florida, and for some odd reason, single. I have many questions and many things to discuss, so brace yourselves people, this is gonna get wierd. |

Just wanna say hi to everyone.....
My roomate (90degrees) got me hooked on the TFP last year around Sept.2004 and I started to get involved...then life threw me a couple of curveballs... I wont bore you with the details of what happened and where I have been ....just know that the wounds on my heart have healed nicely and it looks like there will be little scarring... and as long as she adheres to the restraining order I should be able to leave my apartment again. Hahaha j/k Anyways I look forward to being more involved, posting as much as possible and getting to know you all. Take care-J.T. |

Not sure if I ever introduced myself. I'd like to first thank Halx and those who formed the original group. Hope to get to meet everyone and looking for good, interesting, friendly conversation.
Now on to me. I'm CZ, from San Diego, CA. I am 26, male, married very happily, and my interests are quite varied. Sports including baseball, football (both American and what we call soccer), hockey, and I like to play darts, pool (not that great) and poker (again not that great). I've always loved taking photos but tipsfromthetopfloor has gotten me interested enough to consider it as a career and I'm saving for my first digital SLR camera. Also listening to diggnation, TWIT, and watching Systm has gotten my interested in electronics and computer technology. I love movies and books of nearly all sorts (no romance or westerns for me...and not too keen on sci-fi but I like Farscape a little as well as Firefly, and I have watched the Star Wars movies). Love music of nearly all sorts (not too much into polka but I'll listen to nearly everything else). That leaves me with a pretty wide range of things to learn about and get interested in. There's just so much in life. So much beauty and things to fascinate me. So I just let them all come fascinate me. Safety first, education second, entertainment always. |

Greetings...
I'm the guy who held the door for you the other day...or the one with whom you discussed "always for the first time" by Andre Breton in the cafe...or the one who let you over on the interstate when no one else would...or the one who values a friend's rebuke over a stranger's accolades...or the one who turned you on to The Decemberists, or took that weepy 3 AM phone call from you when you were tanked, or held you at the funeral, or shared a dark secret with you, or cooked you orzo with sun-dried tomatoes, or... ...well, let's find out. I'm elated to be here. Thanks for having me. I'll try to keep it worthwhile. |

newbie here
This is my first time here so this message might not reach out to 'the world' - still learning to navigate the site.
My name is Tanya and I joined TFP a few minutes ago. Seems to be an interesting site and I'm looking forward to talking to everyone here. Dunnow what else there is to say without it sounding like a job application... Well, I actually hafta go anyway. It's 11:50 PM, and although I don't go to sleep this time of the day, today, I feel rather drowsy. I'll hopefully be more productive this coming week. Love. Tanya. |

Hello to everyone! Been meaning to join TFP for some time, and finally got around to it today. Looking forward to a change of environment from the other forums I frequent.
I'm 21, from Davenport Iowa. Currently doing the college thing and trying to find my niche in the world. Anyway, cya on the forums! |

So I should introduce myself, right?
Hello I came across the tilted forum by chance actually. Then again I found a lot of the threads good to read so I joined.
Call me Derek. I'll be 19 in Sept 2005. Uh it's a boring introduction here... Fine, I am left handed. I even use the mouse left-handed. Theatre has always been my passion (as in theatre, not cinema.). I'll be studying theatre in university the coming fall (2005) in Vancouver and... well I did play fencing, volleyball and football and I went quite far with fencing. Then again I had to go to Norway to study in a United World College two years ago (and now I just graduated.) so i had to stop the sports somehow. By the way, parents check out the United World Colleges for your kids, and kids check them out for yourself. It is a wonderful experience studying in one of the UWCs. No I am not advertising, I mean it serious. Well I am originally from Hong Kong but mentally I am not that much of an Asian honestly. You know, youths at this age never know who they are. I am planning to be the first Chinese theatre theorist/director/playwright who does have significant influence in the world of theatre. Ambitious eh? Nah. I am serious, I really am aiming high when talking about theatre. I write plays, have my own theatre theory cooking up in my mind, listen to music when I have time. I listen to a lot of genres of music and I do like the ones I'm listening to- from Einstürzende Neubauten to Marilyn Manson, from Muse to Björk, from Rhapsody to Moby. Just that hip hop, pop and latin music arent my thing at all. I am still just reading the threads but have not start posting yet- havent found any threads which provoke me well enough to speak... So that's pretty much about me. Boring eh? |
