Well, I'm on a mission to discover myself. I'll let you know what I find out when I get there. In the mean time, I'll do my best to not be anybody else. *g*

Well...we seem to have a knack for prompting self discovery here....heh

*tecoyah tries to decide if this is a good thing*

TivaBella 03-13-2006 08:02 AM

Hi there. I just joined on a recommendation from Lucifer. I have never attempted one of these sites before, so I am a true forum newbie. Go gently with me please - I have no idea what I am doing. But I'm always up for a challenge, so give me some time & I'll be posting with the best of you.

TexanAvenger 03-13-2006 08:06 AM

Don't worry, we tend to be gentle. Save the ones who bite. And the ones with whips. And the chains...

Well, we're mostly good, nice people anyway. Glad you found the best forum first, I'm looking forward to seeing more of you around.

alicat8469 03-13-2006 12:00 PM

Evo Shandor1995 03-15-2006 09:00 AM

I'm Evo Shandor, noob here but not to discussion boards in general. I'm happily married and a father, but I come from the hippie generation that believed sex is cool and a fine thing to talk and think about, a belief I never really changed. I like to talk about politics (I'm way to the left), religion (I'm an atheist) movies (already got a post up in Entertainment) SF and adult anime. I'm not so interested in sharing sexual fantasies as talking about how sex shows up in media (like movies and anime) and what that might mean. I've written and sold a fair amount of bondage erotica, and right now I'm working on getting a gig writing romances.

I generally prefer online discussion to RL discussion on these topics -- there really aren't a lot of smart people in the RL world. At least online you can kinda find your level.

Glory's Sun 03-15-2006 09:35 AM

Welcome Evo Shandor1995. I have no doubt you fit right in here.

Read and post often.

A New Guy (does it show...)

Well this is actually the second post I made because promptly after joining I did the one thing I know is blatantly stupid (skip the FAQ and make a post.) Well, at least I was on topic. At any rate, hello all, and thank you kindly to the admins for creating such a great spot on the web.

I’ll be honest and say that I ran into the site doing research and will be hanging around mostly in the knowledge area, but if any one has any questions about CAD, CAM, lower division engineering major stuff (especially aeronautics and manufacturing), computer software/hardware, *basic* brain & cognitive science, physical education, and generally where to find odd stuff that isn’t on your first couple google search return pages, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Take it easy,
Dale

Cynthetiq 04-09-2006 01:53 AM

groundbound 04-09-2006 05:42 PM

Thanks Cynthetiq,
And absolutely, those kinds of questions are not only the ones that result in the most learning, but also the ones that I imagine lead to obnoxiously over paid contracts… ( I hear)

Ample 04-21-2006 06:20 PM

Hi Everyone.

Ample coming to you from the beautiful Maryland Eastern Shore. Not new to the message board thing. I have been looking for a new place to post. I never thought that it would be so hard to find a place that is a good fit. Hopefully I can stop looking. I like the way that this board is set up.

I do have a question. I understand that there is no postwhoring here, not that I am one; however, when I clicked on some of the users that are active right now I did notice a low posting per day count. Is that common? Or are those people primary lurkers?

CaliLivChick 04-21-2006 07:07 PM

Hello all. New to TFP, but looking forward to meeting people. If anyone lives in/near the Orlando area, I moved here about 1 1/2 years ago, and am looking to find places where I can meet people/party/hang out. If you know of a good place for that, or would like to play tour guide, LMK. My boyfriend works nights, so I'm by myself a lot, but he's very supportive, and wants me to get out more. =)

Yes, but there is a large base of active posters, so it all balances out pretty well. It's just that some people like to lurk.

Welcome Apmle and everyone!

New kid in town

Hi All:

I'm Eric, 38, living in New Jersey, USA with my wife and daughter. I discovered the TFP in April, and I'm glad to be here. I look forward to 'meeting' everyone.

Peace,

Eric

Rachel 05-18-2006 11:50 PM

Yay Noob!

Hi I'm Rachel and I'm and undergraduate student at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX). I've got 2 more semester to finish my bachelors in electrical engineering. This summer I'm working at a leading semiconductor manufacturer as at test engineer.

I was introduced to this site by a cool friend of mine (JStrider) so I'm excited to join the community!

Tuft 05-22-2006 10:29 AM

I don't ordinarily participate in threads like this, but I've been around the site and haven't found the right place to make my virgin post. It seems that this forum will be a bit of a fun challenge; that's a good thing. I'm nearing my final year of undergraduate University, studying neuroscience. I have broad interests other than my studies--history, historical psychology, philosophy, religion, linguistics, India/southeast Asia and the Middle East, world politics--but am amateur in most of them. Despite my inherent love for the humanities, after I graduate I plan on going to medical school in pursuit of a career in neuropsychology or biology. I will probably regret it.

No one invited me. I stumbled onto the site myself.

maleficent 05-22-2006 10:34 AM

welcome, tuft, nice to see you here...

pan6467 05-22-2006 10:52 AM

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Lady Sage

My ladyfriend decided after reading some posts and browsing the forum to join this A.M.

As a surprise I thought I could semi-introduce her while she is at work and when she gets home, she'll see how welcome and how many friends she shall have here.

She is a wonderful woman. She's a bank manager, pagan, 29, reads Pahlaniuk in 2-3 days (Hell any book for that matter, just happens Palhaniuk is her latest author of choice) and she is beyond doubt, the most giving, caring, understanding and sweetest woman I have ever met. (She's very outspoken and will definately speak her mind, though.)

So, please feel free to welcome and show her that she is among friends....... Lady Sage........
